I know this is kind of late and Kaycon is like five days away, but I thought of an idea that might be fun for people at con. (I think I saw this mentioned a few years ago on the forums, but I'm not sure.) I was thinking of like a cosplay scavenger hunt where you find various cosplayers who fit the criteria on the list and -polietely- ask for a photo of them. And at the end of con you total up your points (harder things to find would be worth more points) and see how well you did. For example....
Cosplay Scavenger Hunt for Kumoricon 2011
o Find a cosplayer who is cosplaying someone mostly in red. (+1pt)
o Find a cosplayer who is cosplaying someone mostly in blue. (+2pts)
o Find a cosplayer who is cosplaying someone mostly in yellow. (+3pts)
o Find a cosplayer who is cosplaying someone mostly in green. (+4pts)
o Find a cosplayer who is cosplaying someone mostly in orange. (+5pts)
o Find a cosplayer who is cosplaying someone mostly in purple. (+6pts)
If you find all the colors mentioned above you get a bonus +5 pts
o Find someone who has all six colors of the rainbow on their cosplay. (+7pts)
o Find four cosplayers that are cosplaying the same character. (+3pts)
o Find someone who is cosplaying the same character as you. (+1pt)
o Find someone with a really awesome prop for their cosplay. (+2pts)
o Find someone with a really crazy wig or hair for their cosplay. (+3pts)
o Find someone with wings for their cosplay. (+4 pts)
o Find someone who is cosplaying a character that is over 30 years of age. (+3pts)
o Find someone who is cosplaying a character that is over 40 years of age. (+5pts)
o Find someone cosplaying a nekomimi (cat girl). (+1pt)
o Find someone cosplaying a lolita. (+1pt)
o Find someone cosplaying a character from a series that is over 10 years old. (+4pts)
o Find someone cosplaying a character from a series that is over 20 years old. (+7pts)
o Find someone cosplaying a character from a series that is less than 2 years old. (+3pts)
o Find someone cosplaying a character that is manly and muscular. (+2pts)
o Find someone cosplaying a character with a star on their cosplay. (+1pts)
o Find someone cosplaying a character with a heart on their cosplay. (+3pts)
o Find someone cosplaying a character with a skull on their cosplay. (+5pts)
o Find someone cosplaying a magical girl character. (+2pts)
o Find someone cosplaying a character from a sports anime. (+3pts)
o Find someone cosplaying an inanimate object, such as a tetris block. (+3pts)
o Find someone cosplaying a character with glasses. (+1pt)
o Find someone cosplaying a character with a hat. (+1pt)
o Find someone cosplaying a character that is a magician or a magic user. (+2pts)
o Find someone cosplaying a charcter with headphones. (+2pts)
o Find someone cosplaying a character with a beard. (+3pts)
o Find someone cosplaying a character with armor. (+3pts)
Point Evaluation System
o [80+] You are the cosplaying scavenger hunting master. You have fought tough battles and have overcome perilous trials to obtain this title.
o [60+] You are the cosplaying scavenger hunting adventurer. Nothing escapes your eye, well except for a few things, but let's pray that none of those things you missed were life endangering.
o [40+] You are the cosplaying scavenger hunting student. There is much to learn, but don't worry there is more time to practice in the future.
o [20+] You are the cosplaying scavenger hunting novice. You must practice more with the camera and hone your skills for the next battle.
o [0+] It's okay. You were just too busy with the fun events at Kcon that the scavenger hunt slipped under your radar. Try again next year.
-DONE- I believes it totals up to 100pts. I did the math twice and I'm hoping my math skills are still good.
And of course I would put this on a word document, so people can print it out or look at on their phones at con. I'm probably have the finished version like a day or two before con. I don't know if anyone would be interested, but you're more than welcome to suggest ideas and complaints and some more things to add on the list.
