Does anyone know if K-con will be doing the scavenger hunt again this year (with some more publicity this time

The scavenger hunt is running a little differently this year. Instead of having specific people to find, we scoured the forums and found characters that people were planning to cosplay... some will be easy to find, some not so much. The pocket guide will have a page that has the characters you need to find. Take a pic, and when you are done hunting bring your pics to the Programming Office to see what you won. We will have buttons for bingos, and if you find them all you can win something more

There is actually a grid, like a bingo board, that has pics of the characters to look for, with a list on the side. You can look for bingos, or try and find all on the board.

I'm excited to see who is on the board too. Is there a limit on how many people can win? Like, the first 10 people to get a bingo get a prize?

I think this year will be fun. We tried to find some that there will be a lot of people cosplaying, and a few that will harder to find (what's the fun if everyone is found the first day?)

In the event that no one can find everyone, we will be counting who wins the most. If we have multiple people, their names will be put in a drawing for the grand prize, and the winner will be announced at Closing Ceremonies. But everyone will get something.. buttons for the bingos (and you can get more than one), chance to pick something out of our prize swag if you clear the board (or get really close to it).

We're making this up as we go along, so it should be interesting

This sounds like a lot of fun! I enjoyed doing it the past two years (the first year searching, the second year partaking), though too few people knew about it. I wouldn't have minded partaking again this year, but I'm happy to search as well! I'm glad it will be in the programming guide, as that was the plan for previous years as well. What happens if someone *planning* to do a particular cosplay doesn't for whatever reason? That happened a bit two years ago.. This should be fun

It sounds like it not specific cosplayers, but costumes to look for and to take pictures of.

You will need to take a picture of someone cosplaying the character, and we need to be able to see them clearly (group pics and shots from the Cosplay Contest are probably not going to work for you.) We don't have specific cosplayers you're looking for, just specific cosplays, so you should have a good chance of finding them.

As stated earlier... some are probably going to be easier to find than others so you'll need to be on the lookout.

it would kind of suck if you were the ONLY one of that said character, though... at least I think it would. I'd hate to have to take a pic of myself; it'd feel somewhat cheap to me...

Are they being run like this again for Kcon12? Can we suggest people? Like secret ones we don't plan on revealing until the day of the con? 'Cause my sis and I are doing secret cosplay that we haven't seen at kcon and think that would be an excellent addition to scavenger hunt since I know we'll be the only ones dresses like the characters.
