In search of new material
« on: August 18, 2011, 06:50:38 pm »
I've been in an Anime/Manga rut lately.  I need help discovering new series.

Types of Anime that I like:
Trigun
Cowboy Beebop
Appleseed
Ghost in the Shell
Samurai Champloo
Black Lagoon
Inuyasha
Bleach
Naruto

Does anyone have some good suggestions?  Would love to hear a shout out from the forum.  Thanks!!

Gun Sword! Go check that out. I bet you'll really like it. Very much like Trigun. I'm only a couple episodes in, but I love it so far. Very fun, with some nice action too.

Also, I'd suggest Speed Grapher, Afro Samurai, Basilisk, and Utawarerumono. Good stuff!

Just wondering, because it might help in knowing what to ~not~ recommend... what types of anime have you watched and didn't like?
This is my serious voice. Otherwise, I'm just another anime fan, not a moderator.

This is about all I could think of off the top of my head.

Outlaw Star  like Cowboy Bebop/Trigun

Kekkaishi like Bleach

Sword of Stranger like Samurai Champloo

Hellsing Ultimate like Awesome
Team Koga

I second Outlaw Star. That's a great one, with some awesome action, well-done drama, and hilarious comedy...and even some romance!

You know...you would probably make a great Dutch from Black Lagoon.

I still need to see Gankutsuo. The bad part is...it's been on our shelf, part of our dvd collection, for well over 2 years, lol. I'm a bad anime watcher....

I don't like to watch anime but i love Gankutsuou. It's so amazing. It hurt my eyes at first with all the crazy patterns but then i got used to it XD my best friend and I found it at the library and watched the whole thing in one night.

They should have given Dutch more air time in the show then they did...he's a cool character.
