So, I'm thinking about hosting an afternoon tea party this spring/early summer and who better for me to host it as than England?! This is not strictly Hetalia-themed; so cosplays from different series are welcomed. :3 Or~ if you feel like looking more the part of a tea partier, you can come dressed in fancier attire (Victorian, Lolita, etc.).

There will not only be tea and pastries SCONES MUWAHAHAHA~ >D but sandwiches as well. Oh yeah, we're going all-out on the authenticity. *SRS BSNS*
I'll be able to provide most of these but if there are others who are willing to help out, please let me know what you can bring/make and much appreciation will be received in return. :3

Now, about the location, I’m wanting to have this at Owen Rose Garden in the gazebo where we can admire the flowers while sipping tea and munching on sweeties. How perfect would that be?! <3

*And just so you guys know, I may need to have a limit of people going to this since the park has rules about holding events that consist of a crowd of people; so as soon as I call them and get a confirmation of this plan, I'll give an update on the situation, k?*
No need for any of that. We can just show up. :3

**Also, it would be awesome if anyone else (besides me and likely Malaria) would bring thermoses or something that carries hot water for the tea. Worst case scenario, I'll buy a large water dispenser if I can find one.**
I already have a large enough thermos for all of us; so there's no need for another! Thank you anyway!

If it remains on Memorial Day weekend, the best I can say is that I will try to arrange that one of my commutes home for cat-care, from Egils, the SCA event taking place in Lynx Hollow Park in Creswell all weekend, will link up.

If that's the case, I'd be in "garb" (either middle-ages-resembling formalwear, or, corset & long skirts, depending on weather).

I won't commit to specific foods as I won't know whether I'm coming until that day (unless it moves off Memorial Day weekend). However, I'd bring something that doesn't require cooking, as I'll be living in the campground most of the weekend.

Actually, they're always open to the public - but the formal part of the meeting is usually just stuff that has to do with staff.

If you ever want to come to one, the formal part of the meeting (reports from the directors and suchlike) is usually over in about an hour, then the rest of the time is us splitting up into groups and talking. A lot of that is stuff to do with staff, but a lot of it is just getting to hang out and talk with friends.

Oh! Please know, everyone is welcome! Yes, folks can sign up to become staff at these meetings, but they are there to increase interest and involvement in the con. Just being on the forums is more than enough for you to come if you want to!

Fuyu: I can bring a pretty wide variety of teas. The easiest would be chamomile, peppermint or raspberry. Maybe rooibos, if I have enough left at the time. I could also just bring a thermos full of water and a bunch of tea bags, if that's easier.
There's a small problem where my thermos only holds about a liter of water. I'd be afraid of running out prematurely.

Ok, so according to the park guidelines, I have to fill out a permit ONLY IF the gathering will have more than 20 people which is highly unlikely in this case... So just to be completely certain, I'm going to call them up and let them know exactly what this event will be about to see if there are any other rules I'm missing out on. :3

Oh and an update on the park status: It's a green light!! Except I'm thinking it would be best to just have the actual meal at the picnic tables underneath the arbor in front of the parking lot. Not as pretty as the gazebo but it has much more space and is a few steps away from car access. Plus the gazebo is close by; so if we'd like, we could just migrate over there with our cups of tea and enjoy the environment. :3

Bringing/making anything?: making food would be difficult due to my schedule (I'll be outdoors most of that weekend), but I can pick up something at a store on the way to the tea party -- I'm open to requests.

Details:
It's Memorial Day weekend, so I may or may not be able to come. I have an annual event that I volunteer for on that weekend. The part I am running, however, is on Sunday, so whether I come to the tea party depends entirely on my ability to divide my attentions between one event and the other. I'll have to drive back into town if I want to go to the tea party, but it may be worthwhile, nonetheless. We'll see!

I don't think so. That's why they call it a "general" meeting. Anybody can come and watch. If there's a staff requirement, it's only for voting and other officialness.

Okay.

Apollo would be cool, just not PHYSICALLY cool...

Menswear is well-ventilated, but it's still long pants and two layers.

I have some repairs to do for Ordon Link, but I expect I can get them done by the end of the month. The real question is whether I can pull myself away from my weekend event to attend the cosplay tea party.

The real irony is that the weekend event I am attending is having a tea party social at 10:30am that day. T_T This doesn't really cause any additional problems, but it just feels like someone out there is mocking me. ¬_¬;

Hello, I already replied on FB but I will put myself on here too.

I will be coming, and I will be in some form of cosplay, though I do not know exactly what yet. I almost always have to work Saturdays so this is a treat!

Speaking of treats, I will gladly bring something, though I'm not sure what to bring. I can make cucumber sandwiches... they are very, very English tea apropos; would anyone like that? Also, I have a couple more neat teas I can bring with, if anyone likes. Peach flavored black, and herbal cranberry apple that comes out a lovely pink color... that is a favorite when my mum and I do English-style fancy teas at our house. I can also bring some more water along since it sounds like the more the better.
