I also once talked to this Protagonist (from Baroque, it's a game, I sort of doubt anyone here has played it since it's not really popular, but it's a great game) who made his metal boots out of regular old junk stuff. "I used cut-up plastic bottles and spray painted them. To hold them together: brass fasteners. Lol, I'm really proud of what came out of finding old junk that looks like it could be used as a metal substitute.", so you could probably use the same technique for Vriska's arm. Possibly on a base of black tight-material.
I'd heard of people making her arm out of actual metal too. Pretty badass.

But I haven't made anything like that myself, so I might not be the best person to be handing out advice, asdfghjkl

Aw man, I'm really hoping for a photoshoot, but I am not the person to plan that. Someone else said that they would coordinate one, though. They are now the photoshoot friendleader. It is them.

Yep, that'd be me! I'm a local to Vancouver, I know the area where the con is like the back of my hand. I suppose I am going to coordinate, then. It seems like everyone has different days they're planning to do their cosplays.

Please PM me (to avoid thread spam) what days you are going to do your homestuck cosplays
This will help me figure out which day would be best for everyone to make this happen c: From there I can get a meet-up going for that day, and we can do the shoot!

In other news, I fixed my horns so they're even and I retrieved my Terezi wig. Its so flippy! I love it CX

They're made of model magic, so they're super light. I don't think there should be too much of a problem attaching them. I just don't know where to start. : ((

Thats how I attached my horns but you might want to use something more sturdy then fabric since your horns are bigger. Like cardboard or something, but paint it if you do if its not black to disguise it.

Hmmmm... That would work. I've found a method that I will hopefully get to use so that I don't have to have a headband showing.
But I'll definitely use this as a backup method if I run out of time.

My plan kinda backfired.
Ive been online trying to look for places that sell costume cream makeup or whatever. but nothing is being helpful enough D8 >

Wow, a bunch of my friends already posted on this thread I guess. I'll be pre-injury Vriska for at least two of the days. I was thinking about being Japan one of the days again this year to match my friend who'll be Hungary, but now I'm not sure if I still will. I'll be hanging with WorldToast and twistedbiskit and BlueElyssa as well as some of our other friends.

For makeup, I bought my Ben Nye from a costume store and they recommended this spray stuff to me, it's like a sealer but it goes on your skin before the makeup to protect you from it. Probably a good idea, so I thought I'd spread the word a little bit.

AAAAAA my Vriska's finally done yayayay (okay except for the robo-arm but I'm finishing that tomorrow...)

Also, for makeup, I used Ben Nye. They have it at Lippman Party Store on Water and Yamhill in Portland. (it's in a kind of shitty area, over by Omsi. But it's a great store.) I got two grey powders (I couldn't decide between the two so I got both), a liquidy thing to mix the powders in to make a liquidy cream kind of thing, and a black cream for highlights like knuckles and under the eyes and such. And then a spray stuff to keep it on. From when I tried it, it looked really good and stayed on for quite a while. Just mix the powders in with the liquid **** and use a paintbrush or something to put it on your face. xD It wasn't difficult at all.

Also I'm dragging quite a few friends along who're going as Eridan, two or three Johns, and Rose. So, yay. Looks like we're gonna have a pretty big group?

Also yeah, where/when's (I know it's the first day, but what time?) this photoshoot gonna happen? xD

It looks like a lot of people are aiming towards Day 1. I can maybe swing that if it's later in the day, but if more people are hoping for morning, I can miss this one.

Awww dude, Saturday's the day I'm Dave.
My Dave cosplay is so boring in comparison to my Karkat and Gamzee cosplays.

You know, having a photoshoot each day isn't actually impossible. Just have a designated location, and time (probably 4:13, this is Homestuck, after-all), and that way it's convenient for everyone. You can show up to whatever photoshoots you can make it to, and whoever didn't hear about the photoshoot on say, Saturday, can still make it to the one on Sunday.

The shotoshoot schedule? I don't know, I remember seeing multiple Black Butler shoots on that ****, but I didn't look very closely.

But if putting three shoots on the schedule is awkward, we could always put Saturday down... And then slyly mention the shoot is actually three days.... The shoot is... the entire convention.......... There isn't actually a convention.............. Just... one big Homestuck photoshoot............

Also, while having a shoot every day would be the boss, it would look awkward. I think Saturday would be a good day for an official shoot, and we'll meet up on other days and just hang out. We can all up and chill together and bask in our own new friendships.

WorldToast: Big fandoms have multiple shoots to deal with the fact that an unmanageable number of people want to attend. It doesn't seem like Homestuck's gonna be that big this con, so it's not really filling a need to have multiple shoots.
