Dear Diary (An idea Stolen from far cooler people)
« on: October 19, 2010, 08:47:18 pm »
Deary Diary,

Today I had freezer Waffles for Breakfast, they were yummy, as they were covered in maple syrup. Then I dicked around on the internet.
Around eleven I left for the bus to go to PCC. Class today was Film studies. My Professor is a crazy old British guy, he's really cool. We talked about Raging Bull and watched clips focusing on the historical starts of film editing. After class I was driven home by my girlfriend. Nothing really happened after that, I had some sliders for dinner. Today was a good day.

Well I'll see you tomorrow, Diary.

Dear Diary,

Today was interesting. I learned not to talk about same-sex marriage in class.
I also learned that procrastination is starting to not work so well.

Bye Diary, I need to finish my smoothie.

PS. TELL SHAY SHE'S CRAZY.... and grounded if she keeps saying she's ugly. :c
I miss 2010.

Dear diary,

Today I realized I have caught the cold going around AND I have a wisdom tooth making my life a living hell. Here I sit at work waiting for the day to be over so I can go to the dentist tomorrow.

Dear Diary, Today I bartered catsitting for a TV that doesn't constantly scroll. My eyes got happier just in time to start Princess Tutu. I cried twice. If only I hadn't quit ballet when I was a kid I could've danced along like a Tutu version of the Time Warp. Speaking of which, still in need of turquoise socks and a gold sequined bowtie for my Columbia.

Dear Diary, Are you the one sending me crazy cosplay dreams? If so, thanks, as they just might work. I probably could take a wood block and a handle of some sort to fake the hurdy-gurdy played by the rhyming-obscure-wisdom-dispensing faerie-godmother figure (Aja?) from Princess Tutu. I definitely could really hand out the Scarlet Runner bean seeds that I really planted that really do grow enormously, and warn folks of the giants they may encounter if they climb too high.

Dear Diary,
Had the most amazing week of fanfic dreams. 1st a Supernatural one, then an absolutely epic full episode of Big Bang Theory, featuring a guest appearance by Adrian Brody as his character from Splice (but single). Can't wait to write the actual dialogue. Need to find a science advisor to verify all geeky details. You'll be the first to know.

Dear Diary,

Remy has far cooler dreams than me.  Also, I had a Calc 4 exam today.  I think I did pretty well.  It was very hard.  O:  Also, I was wearing my fancy new argyle sweater today, but I also put on a black undershirt beneath it.  Turns out I put it on inside-out and backwards.  I was wondering why a little bit of my shirt looked all rumpled up near the top of my sweater.  I hope no one at school noticed. D:

Lesson learned: reppy can find the volume trapped between the hemisphere z = sqrt(9 - x^2 - y^2) and the circle x^2 + y^2 = 4 in the xy-plane but cannot dress himself properly.

(In case you're wondering, it's (5^(3/2) * pi)/3 or approximately 11.708.)

Integrally yours,
reppy

Dear Diary, It appears I have forgotten all the Calc that got me a 5 on the AP exam back in the day. Perhaps it was like that episode of Married with Children wherein every new fact memorized by Kelly pushed another old factoid out. Maybe every fanfic dream costs me a math class. Oh well. It's worth it if it's found fun by the con's most celebrated crossplayer.

Dear Diary,

Sometimes I wish life was like an RPG and I could award attribute points to people.  If I could, I would give RemSaverem +1000 awesome points for her Married with Children reference.

And then I would cast "Blanket of Covering" on myself.  It's super-effective(!) when compliments have the unintended effect of causing extreme embarrassment! ^///^

Suddenly realizing how nerdy he is while talking about RPGs and listening to viking metal,

Dear Diary. It has finally happened. My life is at last complete. I can now sing the opening song from A Very Potter Musical because "It's gonna be totally awesome!" now that I have been infused with extra points from one with plenty extra to give in that area.  ;)
The type of blanket coverage I will need this evening differs, however. Remember how in The Rocky Horror Glee Show, Sam was concerned his Rocky shorts "might show some nuttage"? Well tonight, after spending junior high and high school performing as Magenta, I am debuting in Vampire Kameko's Columbia cosplay, and I'm hoping to not accidentally slip a nip....
Love,
Remy.
P.S. I always knew that some day someone would share my appreciation for Married With Children enough to make it worth all the @#$% I took from people who couldn't understand how a Women's Studies major could enjoy it!

Dear Diary, My fingers are getting tired from sewing that eyepacth that I started yesterday! It was really nice this morning since it wasn't cold or raining. I stepped on every single crunch leaf that was between me and my bus stop this morning too. I don't know why I can't find my pirate pants to go with my eyepatch. Does the universe not want me to dress up as a pirate tomorrow? Or is it telling me that Ninja's are far superior?Diary, I am confused now, so I will go and search some more.

Dear Diary,
Tomorrow I can't wait to start on my paper for ITR&R about David Bowie, and I wish I were focusing more on my Crucible paper outline. I also wish I had a group to play Apples to Apples with. I hope I can go to JoAnn's this weekend to look at fabrics for my cosplays, I'm pretty sure I'll be doing Ling first. Oh, is it Thanksgiving break yet? I wish it was.
Until tomorrow-

Dear Diary, I really miss the room I lived in in high school, with its two floor-to-ceiling collages of pictures of and stories about (1) The Who and (2) David Bowie, until my mom took them down a couple years after I moved out. Supposedly the collages still exist somewhere in my parents' basement; sure hope they are protected from flooding. Anyway.  It sure would help me feel only nostalgic and not homesick to read new articles anyone might write about David Bowie. Not like that's a hint or anything ;)
Also, I can't help but wonder whether there are really such things as crush-faeries that go around sprinkling crush-inducing glitter-dust upon us forum folks in our dreams. 'Cause last month was a doozy for me in terms of increasing crushiness, and there seems to be a lot of it going around.... :o :D

Dear Reppy's Diary,
Can you try to make him not be lying on that last entry? I would so totally read his Labyrinth fanfic. Thank you.
Love,
Remy.

Dear Diary,
I have discovered today that 8 years working in fanfic at cons can lead one to anthropomorphize anything, even you or others' diaries.

So. Ya wanna hang out? Splotch my ink and I'll know you're listening.

You made it! It's friday morning! Now if you can manage to finish your David Bowie paper, start your Crucible paper, survive your spanish and english tests and make it home, you can play FFVIII all weekend! And you're still jealous of the AkiCon-goers, aren't you?
Love, me~

Dear Diary. Wow. I never expected "outing" of het couples on the forums. It's partway between amusing and ...I better not say. Anyway. About that bilocation thing. Since I now don't have internet and don't have a DVR or TiVo, I have to juggle my desire to socialize at Anime Friday with my love for Supernatural. Oh that CW, how it has changed my social life. Anyway. I still have to ask Meg if I can slice her blue tentacles and somehow make them into a headpiece to cosplay Squid Girl. After I use them as Nagini for my HP! Love, Remy.

Dear Diary, I dreamed I infiltrated and subverted local low-level Tea Partiers. I pretended to be a liason sent from the ecoanarchist treesitters since their namesake event some might call anarchist civil disobedience. Then I convinced them to reread Genesis and embrace the Shekinah and that "dominion over" was a (some say deliberate) mistranslation of "stewardship of". Winning them over, I got these folks to see they'd been mislead by Palin, et. al, and to break the group down from within and become ecoactivists. Fun dream.

Dear Diary,

I had an awesome snugglelove session with an adorable little kitten last night.  She was licking, nuzzling, and biting me all over my face and neck.  And then she passed out on top of me for like half an hour.  Pretty sweet, dood.

All snuggled out,
reppy

Dear Diary, it's my least favorite day of the month. No, not for girlpart reasons. Because I had to give my cat her flea treatment. And vacuum her room (with dust everywhere as I cleaned the filter), and washing all her linen. I gave her 2 types of treats & she hasn't seemed to forgive me yet. Fleas are le suck. <-- (pun)

@ Reppy, *guffaw* *nod* Sheba, the chocolate lab I rescued when I worked at a battered women's shelter, held fear (of angry men and things that sounded violent) but did not hold anger. Dear Diary, mentioning rescuing "a chocolate lab" reminds me of Augustus Gloop in the chocolate river in (the original) Willie Wonka. Which in turn makes me think of Roald Dahl and Roald Dahl Plass and thus Torchwood. Now I'm craving cocoa and Captain Jack-Ianto Jones cozy scenes. Ah, well. I was up anyway: My cat just laughed at the memo about how "falling behind" for daylight savings time meant I was supposed to get another hour of sleep this morning. *Yawns* I use Tetris as a verb, btw. As in, "OMG, time to pack for Orycon; how am I going to Tetris all my Copics and craft supplies and cosplay into my car and still have room to drive?" :-O Love, Remy.

Dear Diary, what critter is about an inch long, 2 millimeters thin, black, has tons of milimeter-long legs, crawls slowly, and crunches when smooshed? I have seen 2 in a week, in my kitchen, never seen before. Kinda wiggin me out. Especially as my cat likes to chase them. (Anyone?)

@ Rep: I thought it might be a milipede. It isn't furry like a centipede. Maybe it came in on my shoe when I was gardening. I just realized there's a big disconnect between how I view myself mentally and how I actually appear physically.  For some reason, I feel physically "small" yet when I look in the mirror, I'm always surprised (in a good way) by what I see.  Now, how do I begin to fix that disconnect? D:

Dear Diary,

I once discovered a frightening and unusual bug in my room.  I thought of moving it outside, then I realized, "wait a minute, this thing is awesome!  It's like a dinosaur bug!"  So I just let it be.  It lived in my room for a while and presumably died a few months ago.

Dear Diary, I have been utterly geeking out for weeks, immersing myself in Doctor Who & Torchwood to prep for Tiptoe Through the TARDIS, my & 3 pals' Creation Station panel at Orycon. It's almost here and I am all butterflies inside. Butterflies, I could handle crawling across my floor. I am not as brave as Tofu in that regard.

Hoping people come & have tons of fun,

Dear Diary. I don't know why my dad scheduled my ENT appointment for 9 AM tomorrow but it was very silly of him to do in an endearing way. Silly father who goes to work at 6 AM and thinks everyone does the same! I got up at 4 PM today. However, I think that was mostly because it was the post-con sleep of the dead and we'd had quite an ordeal driving home the night before. Yay for vans breaking down on the highway in Washington! Except not really.
Sorry this diary entry makes no sense,

Wizard People,
And the baby is left, the baby with the most telling of scars, the baby that is the seed of power, the baby that is the inheritor of the horrible, hoary hammer of the gods, Harry, the wizard who was destined to vanquish all evil, and, if he so wish, bring it back again!

Wizard People,
Ronnie the Weasel shows up and makes his grand entrance to share the compartment with Harry. The proud lad remembers Harry from the platform and takes a seat. In the introductions, Ron is struck with a face almost sacred when Harry introduces himself as the H. P. The scar is called into question. It is shown, and it is wicked.

Wizard People,

Just as Ron is about to produce yellow pillows, a spell he has learned at home, pillows of gold, he and Harry are interrupted by a horrible creature that is noisily and slowly making its way down the hall and finally appears in the doorway. Only upon closer examination do Ronnie and H. P. realise that this thing is a girl looking for somebody's frog.

Her hair seems to be made up of hair-follicle-sized serpents. A pre-pubescent Medusa. She demands that Ron finish his spell, but, by mere proximity to such a wretched creature, Ron cannot concentrate, and almost kills his rat instead of producing pillows of gold.

She tries to degrade Ron, but only looks stupid. Knowing that these boys obviously hate her filthy guts, she sits down and repairs Harry's glasses with a pretty cool spell. The boys have to admit that this creature posing as a humanoid has some chops. Definitely some chops, indeed. Only after the spell does she recognise our H. P. for who he is.

She intros herself as Harmony and begs Ronnie of his name, but he only growls and smacks in her direction. This prompts her to leave, and, as a last ditch effort to please, she informs Ronnie of his chocolatey nose. As if he did not know.

Wizard People,

Dear readers, imagine a music that describes a nocturnal, heavenly Yes as the children float on the black, still waters, boating up to the castle of Hogwarts School. Harry knows straightaway that this will be a place where he shall surely brandish his wand valiantly. He knows in his heart that this is a stage where he will conjure and conquer the world with his ungodly charisma points. Harry trembles and steadies himself in the reassuring, pasty presence of Ron the Bear.

Dear Diary, Other than the sleep dep and the $160 I have to come up with for my cat sitter (totally worth it for peace of mind), Orycon was EPIC.
Wait, con's over and there's still sleep dep. What's that about?
At least I got more hours in last night than the previous 3...and today I get to hang out with Roget, Jeni & Taco, & possibly see either Scott Pilgrim or Sorcerer's Apprentice.
My cat cuddled me on the couch most of the night, so I take it she has forgiven my unprecedented 2-night absence from this house. Though any time I have moved in the direction of the front door she has perched upon my suitcase, as if to say, nuh-uh- honey, you're stayin'.
Love,
Rem.

Dear Diary,
YOU DID IT. You don't have to worry about that essay since it's all done now! Now you just gotta worry about rejection when asking a certain girl you like if they want to go on a date with you. Yup...this week should be interesting. Time for cake!

Dear Diary, OMG, Scott Pilgrim really is that epic a movie. It is the most innovative specifically because it is the most derivative. Gotta remember that kneepit thing, try it on a future girlfriend.

Dear Diary,
I made enemies with my health teacher.
I'm failing 3 classes and I hate my Governments teacher. She's okay in Econ though.
Tomorrow I get to see Harry Potter and it's only 2 more years before nu!Star Trek's sequel. *squee*
ALSO: I got let out early for lunch today and was able to reserve the yellow and blue chairs in the cafeteria AND get an awesome sub sandwich.
Sad news: I turn 18 in a few short weeks. D:

Dear Diary,
There is so much to squee about that I can *almost* ignore that I caught "the con crud", not even at, but after, Orycon, from dear Ro who was visiting from Cali. Worth it, though.

--Great time with local dear one earlier this week
--HP & The DH in cosplay tomorrow
--Best friend got the job I intuitively told her she would get
--I made a seriously yummy lunch (rice, lentils, tomato sauce, herbs, cheese, baked)
--I have new friends both from KC & from Ory who have become amazing perfect penpals and with some of whom I will probably hang out in person at other cons & such
--An X-files homage and silly stuff coming up on Supernatural tonight
--*maybe* (if I feel better) my buddies' ska band from Bend at a local bar tonight
--and OMG people loved our Doctor Who panel so much that there is now a Facebook group about it and a Facebook revitalization of Oregon's Friends of the Doctor group. I should make like a Linda member and start singing ELO tunes! Don't bring me down.....Bruce!

Dear Diary,

Today, while waiting in line for a chemistry lab, I offered a classmate one of my Burgerville English Muffin egg sandwiches.  He said, "No thanks, I just had a Slimfast."  I felt like punching him in the face, except I was afraid I might break a nail.

Overflowing with testosterone,

Dear Diary,

I am still reeling from last night. I have the best group of friends ever and my family is awesome. The party was so A-MA-ZING and everyone had a great time.

Looking back I don't even understand how I didn't find out, it all seems very obvious now.

Dear Diary! Today was my first day of work and it was kind of awesome! My next day of work is Black Friday though and I don't foresee that being as awesome. Going into work at 4 PM is much, much preferable to going to work at 7 AM. But otherwise today was a pretty good day. Love, Jaqua.

Dear Diary,
Today I was a lazy bum. Yeah, I finally finished Doctor Who: The Complete Specials (even though I haven't seen s4 yet, because it hasn't gotten back to the library yet), yeah, it's overdue, but no, I did not brave the torrent of freezing rain to go return it. Instead, I chatted with many, sent fanfic & original fic to a few on request, got a gorgeous photo from a pal who went to SteamCon, spent hours with my cat, & spent hours putting energy into the Steampunk Film Fest. Well that part, not lazy, but still, you know. So. Yeah. Okay. Up next: Torchwood (s1) Declassified.

Oh and I think I have to slash the 10th Doctor & The Master from the ep The End of the World, Pt. 2. Just sayin'.

Here's hoping the Board comes back from the Retreat happy about, not unhappy about, all the new chatter about & research into distance meeting options.

Love,
Remy.

Captain's log: Dec 1, 6:40 AM.

I rise to the occasion of posting out of being woken up thanks to dehydration and a small ounce of twilight hunger. (mental falcon punch to any movie references)

The day seems to be either a combination of cold, rain, or both as I count the hours until my afternoon of epic roleplaying glory known by its humble name, Amtgard. Though few attend the game days anymore, for outside reasons such as school homework, jobs, or other activities, it's these few that I find equal footing with in swordsmanship and love of the game.

With my newly handsewn cloth sword cover of golden yellow, and two twin swords back from their broken graves, I take my best to the field and charge into heated battle against the demonic forces of the cold winter. I only hope that soon I can scrounge up enough booty to buy myself a cart to carry all that I need down to the park.

End transmission...

@TSJ, that was adorable. My ex was in Amtguard. Boffer fights in garb ftw. Dear Diary, Pals are coming in from PDX for Goth Night. I'd rather be home with my kitty, but at least I get to dress Loli. If I can find a dress that won't be ruined by the torrential downpour. Love, Remy.

Dear Diary,

Why can't you buy the Halo:Reach Noble Map Pack with real money? Why do Microsoft Points exist? And why is there nothing edible but Progresso soup in my cupboard? I am very upset with the new maps, and it is almost not worth it to even try getting the Map pack, except for the fact Bungie has decided that you can't do the new achievements without it.

The blank achievements are laughing in my face- especially when they are so damningly easy. (Get a double kill with a shotgun)...; A ;

I cannot seem to tolerate school any longer and very much wish it to end already. The constant repetitive schedule of my life is starting to wear down on what little tolerance I have for such things. We need a day where we all go to our classes with a backward schedule. Or let high-schoolers have naptime. The world would be a much happier place.

Why Bungie....why.

                              -Your obsessive cosplaying gamer,

Dear Diary,

Every day just melts into the next with an unending torrent of angering or upsetting people. I know the life of a customer service agent is to always smile and show the customer your best side regardless of how rude, dismissive, badgering, or out right mean they act.

Regardless, I am only human and I need somewhere to vent. I need to relax, to cut loose.

Today, much planning commenced for MEW Con, roping in additional panelists for Andie & picking my own. Looking forward to my first MEW (please o please may I have a catsitter!).

Also, Data is locked in a staring contest with Mr. Spock.

Havign Watched 'Mutiny on the Bounty" 1939, with Charles Laughton and Clark Gable,
I'm now watching the 1962 version with Marlan Brando (!) and Trevor Howard.
Next up, some other day, is 'Bounty,' with Mel Gibson.
