I'd like to recommend Saturday afternoon-early evening (12-7 somewhere).

As for confirming, I'm still doing it, but there's a SLIGHT chance that I'll be going as someone other than Lina. If it won't be her, it'll be Sailor Neptune. I saw Joe, the guy who said he'll possibly go as Sailor Saturn, earlier today. I think he's still on campus somewhere, so I'll try to ask him and have a response for you today.

I want to say that Opening Ceremonies close at 11, but I have a feeling that this is wrong; I honestly don't remember. As for Registration, I'd recommend talking to pyronine; he's the one that's in charge of registration. Thanks. I'm trying to weed out as many issues as I can at the start of this so i can dwindle it down to time frames.

I don't think anything else big goes on during Day 1, correct?
If so... I'll probably set times on that day for later such as 5-10. Maybe aiming for 7ish?

Day 2 has the masquerade and cosplay contests, right?
And they start around...5ish...? Maybe...?

The cosplay contest is on Sunday, but I'm not sure on the Masquerade Ball; I think that varies year-by-year. I know that one of my panels has been requested for Saturday, but I don't remember the time. I did include to have it not occur during the pageant, though, so I think that'll be okay.

Yes, skits come after cosplay. I don't remember when it started in '09. Runa is the one that runs these events, so she'd be the person to ask. I don't know how often she's on the forums anymore. I can send an e-mail to her husband in case she doesn't respond to you, if need be.

Oh, I just talked with Joe Hardin. He reluctantly has to withdraw from the competition. There's things going on in his personal life this late-Summer/early-Fall that require his attention. He sends his apologies.

I can ask some clubs here at Clark's campus to see if any of their males are planning on going to the con, and if they'd be willing to do this. I can think of four clubs that might have at least one possible entry...

Oh, I forgot. Chan_Highwind said that you can confirm her as a judge. She is still unsure on what her cosplay will be, though...

Well, I do intend to talk to two of the four clubs tomorrow, since they both have their meetings on Fridays. Another one is on Saturday. I'm not sure on the fourth, but the president of the Saturday club has the number for the president of the fourth club. I should be able to get a hold of that club relatively easy.

As for timing...should I go longer? I have 15 min set up, 15 take down, and 1 hour for the panel.

Opening - 3
Interview - 10
Guest - 3
Talent - 10
Guest - 3
Swim - 10 [less than this for five people]
Guest - 3
Formal - 10
Guest - 5
Winner - 3

This adds up to 60 minutes.
For five people it would be two minutes each event. (Swim would only last three minutes probably.)
Ten people would have one minute each event.

You have three minutes to change costumes and I have five minutes to tally up all the results.

Well, how about an hour & a half? I'm mainly thinking about the possibility of mistakes, delays, or possibly an extra contestant or two. Also, I would think that set-up (especially) and tear-down would need more than 15 minutes each.

Set up is just testing sound and making sure CDs work. It doesn't really need that much unless we are setting up chairs and stuff.

We will all meet at some point when we all have time to work together. (I was hoping Day 0 if we are all there.)
We won't be on stage but that isn't too big of an issue.

Tear down is just making sure everything is cleaned up. Again, unless we are working with chairs and if we have to have them all set up ourselves. This is why I sent a PM to Jamiche to talk with her about all of this.

Even with extra contestants an hour is fine. I don't think we will get over ten. And if I extend it and we don't get over ten, it will be way too long.
I am going to cut it off at only ten people because of this which will decrease times to one minute each if we get all ten.
Swimming will only be a maximum of five minutes and the other five will be tossed into talent for 15 minutes. Giving 3 minutes for five people and 1.5 for ten.

Mistakes are why we practice. If you screw up on your talent, you can't start over. It's too time consuming and not fair for everyone.
I also don't want the audience to get bored.

So the only concern I have with timing is with set up and take down which I'm discussing with Jamiche before I make an exact time.
I just wanted to make sure you could all do everything in 2-3 minutes time. If everyone can't, then I will extend it a bit or move numbers around to make it all work.

Day 0 will be kind of tough for me. I've agreed to help out the registration table on Day 0 again this year.

Yeah, tear-downs are usually quicker than set-ups.

That and finding people ahead of time to donate some items for the gift baskets so we have them for the winners.
I want to get at least three gift baskets...
One for winner, one for Miss Congeniality, and one for a drawing/door prize during the pageant.

Like the people in the Manga Swap Meet who want to get rid of some of their items they can't sell...they can donate those to be in the gift baskets.
You don't have to collect all of the items from people cause I'll probably gather them all at the con itself so it's less of a hassle.

I'm talking to my roommate and seeing if he will join me in this adventure, so might have one more contestant if that need is still there.

I just started sewing my interview outfit, which also converts into my swimwear. The formal is planned out, and I'll pick up material next coupon day at Joanns. I'll get pictures as soon as I can, at least of the in progress works.

Talent is undecided, but I'm narrowing it down. I can send you a PM if you want the full details boss.

When do you need the Times by, I'm trying to design them for quick change but won't know until they are near completion.

I can probably assist in either materials, money, or sewing work if need as well, in regards to donations.

Cause you'll have by the time you get off until your next time up. You will all always be in the same order that is chosen and you will also have 3 more minutes with the guests in between the events. So even if you are the last person to go (with six people) you would have around 8 minutes to change. (3 event + 1min per person on stage [5])

Any way you want to assist is greatly appreciated! Just speak up on what you wish to help with! ^^

Between the two, I'd say Umbreon. However, if you can, I'd say go as a male character, perhaps one that "likes" the ladies...? I cannot physically crossplay completely for medical reasons.
I have some males I do but they wear baggy clothing. I am only doing a guy this year for Molly and the coat covers my chest cause it's baggy.

But yeah...I can't wear a binder or anything cause of my lungs. I breath at not even half the rate of a normal person so I can't have any compression on my chest or I can't breath at all.

to me. I'll say this about my plans: I plan on using the basic costume idea of my character, be it Lina or if I go with Sailor Neptune. It will not be a modified version, or anything like that. I plan on that being what I wear at the start of the event and at the end. Is that what's being implied?
