Kumoricon 2011 - Free For All, Who are you Gonna Cosplay? Thread

We've got "Who should I be", and individual group threads, and photoshoot threads, and progress threads, but no where to just shout out "So I'm going to be these characters next year!" whenever you want.

BUT NOW WE DO.

Next year, so far, I am 100% guaranteed going to be Teo from Avatar.

And I'm also considering doing any mix of the following, Red from There Will Be Brawl, Sarah Jane Smith from Doctor Who (specifically Hand of Fear), Princess Eilonwy from the Black Cauldron, Robin Hood from Disney's Robin Hood, Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon, Barbara Gordon aka Oracle from The Birds of Prey comics, Kim Possible from Kim Possible, Clandestine Jones from YU+ME: Dream, Kida from Atlantis: The Lost Empire, and Anton from The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. SO MANY THINGS TO CHOOSE FROM. SO MANY THINGS TO WORK ON. Obviously I will only wind up doing three or four, including Teo.

What projects are all y'all considering/starting work on for next year's con?

Me and a few of my friends are considering doing a Baman and Piderman group.

I would be Pumkin (Now with feets!).

I want to do this mostly because it'd be hilarious and awesome, and because making a Baman costume would be so fun, you'd get to like, make gloves that had extra fingers in them. Also, because being Baman, Piderman, Pumkin, and Tuba would be just so excellent.

Interestingly enough, that's two costumes one of my friends has talked about that involve tubas. Maybe I should just get her a junky old tuba already.

Though if you wanted to do Welsh mythology I would love that as well <3. Before I decided on Cu Chulainn I was thinking about the goddess Rhiannon from Welsh mythology. I bet you could do something really creative with Blodeuwedd if you wanted to. But it's totally up to you! I'm just so super excited about this idea and so happy I have a fellow myth buddy, particularly for Celtic mythology T^T <3
Unfortunately I couldn't afford Cu Chulainn until 2012 though, I'm sure ;n;.
Also, if you decide on Eilonwy, which would be awesome, I'll totally do Lady Amalthea <3.

Ok so this is kinda random but I thought I would go as Fruits Basket Yuki in rat form's keeper. Basically that would be me in regular clothes or my goth clothes bringing my companion rat Cuddles. She is a blue and so is pretty much the same color as yuki in rat form or Remy from Ratattouile.

OOOH or I could break out my Remy costume depending on how hot it will be at the con!! and then of course bring Cuddles or Little Chef with me if it is ok!!

Day Zero is the day before the con officially starts.There are pre-parties that day and you can get your badge if you pre-reged that day too.Lots of people like to cosplay on this day too. I hope I did a decent job of explaining it. :/

I will be using my airsoft (military simulation games with lifelike guns) loadout, but unfortunately no one I know has MARPAT (the official outfit of the US Marines) in my size (and I am spending money on the hotel) so I have to stick with woodland . However, I am making a Minecraft outfit (with the possibility of a head) that includes:

Diamond pickaxe, axe, and shovel.
blocks of dirt, stone, etc (not life size)
a torch (with an orange or yellow LED hopefully)
a folding crafting table (will probably have to draw that, and i suck at drawing)
and some sort of belt(s) to hold torch, blocks and tools.

couldnt find any plans online (for life size paper-craft version), so i ripped the images from the game files, enlarged them, cropped them into different sections, printed and put back together by gluing to cardboard, and having foam-core poster board as the space filler

Thanks for your enthusiasm! The grieves and bracers are the hardest part but I think it will all pull through and look good. It might not look EXACTLY like in the reference pic but I'm hoping it will still look acceptable. Rikimaru is a kind of childhood hero of mine. I just wish I decided to go to the con a little earlier. but my plans for burning man fell through so I had to shift gears with only two weeks to work on it! we'll see how it goes!!

it's a condor h-harness with a battle belt, double m4 stacker pouches, a utility pouch, a hydration carrier and a buttpack on that carrier.

I think I already posted on this who I was cosplaying, but I lieeed....

I changed up my plans.
Day 1 I'll be going as L from Death Note(I'll have a Misa with me and possible Grell unless one of my other cosplays work out)
Day 2 I HOPE to go as Ronald Knox from Black Butler, but I may not be able to unless I can get my hair done like his. I'll have a Grell with me whether I'm L or Ronnie this day. And yes, I do want my hair like Ronald's because I think it's a cute hair style and I've never done anything weird with my hair before.(My dad obviously doesn't understand XD) Oh and a wig doesn't seem to do Ronald's hair justice.
Day 3: Roy Mustang with his eyepatch. :3 I'll have a Riza with me.
I love how my costume for Roy looks, it's got a military uniform of course, black coat, gloves, and I made an eyepatch that looks pretty darn good IMO. I'll also have a brown briefcase(American Tourister case) with me.
My Ronald Cosplay actually is a Closplay. These were all clothes me or my sister had in our closets, and surprisingly, it looks pretty good! Got the white shirt, the black vest, black tie, black pants, white shoes, glasses(with no lenses because... I don't need glasses and those were those old dorky looking 3d glasses) and the coat. Yep. It looks good, I  just really want my hair done.
We sent pics of his hair to our hairdresser to see if she was able to do it. IDK if she's replied yet

Anyway, I'm super excited and a little nervous since I haven't had much energy to get into cosplay the past 3 weeks since I've been really sick. Still not 100% better, but well enough for K-con!

This is the name of my cosplay group (which btw consists of "Domo girl", THE Jack Skellington, and myself THE Witch.)

Day One: Ifrit (me), Reno, Carbuncle Ginjinka (for those who went to Sakuracon this year is the awesome ReDead), Yuna, FF7 Cloud, Lightning, Yellow (Domo Girl) White and Black Chocobos (Not ginjinka btw), Aerith, as well as a Pac-Man.

Day Two: The Witch (me obviously, new and improved costume btw), Smoker (Jack), Fem Smoker (Domo girl), 2 Hunters, and 5 zombies (one of which will have a mustache for me!!! and yes, that means we'll have a horde of zombies )

Day Three: Navi (me), ReDead (the awesome ReDead obviously) Jack (Jack obviously), Latvia (Domo girl), Steam Punk guy (for those who may know him Steam Punk Tally), Pac Man and Blinky (The emblems will be on the front and back of black shirts, our Blinky will have Blinky on the front of his shirt and the back will have the edible ghost), Fem Stein, and Romano with a tomato pillow!

A little update on my cosplay list' order since a lot of things changed LOL.

Day 0 : Mama! Cross Marian - Dgrayman.
I'm csplaying him from the previous latest chapters of the manga. It wont be exactly like his outfit but i'll get it close enough.

Day 1 : Cross Marian - Dgrayman.
Normal version of him. depending on the weather or how i feel xD;; i'll wear the black coat or not. considering his big gun I have to carry around I will have Krory with me ~ THEN i'm swapping to Roy around late evening for the 18+ miniskirt panel.

Day 2 : Jack Vessalius - Pandora Hearts.
For the Pandora Hearts shoot and the glory of feeling elegant 8D .. I'll Have a gilbert with me and hopefully find others before the shoot.

Day 3 : Roy Mustang - Fullmetal Alchemist .
Easy cosplay to wear' and nothing much going on. I'll be bringing my lovely sign back.

I really wanted to bring my Yukari dress from Paradise Kiss, but the skirt is so huge, and I have to bring all my stuff to work with me tomorrow. (Two wig heads and SSX's chakrams are bad enough.) That and I can't get into the dress/ put all those roses in my hair very easily by myself. *cries* Tough decision, but it had to be made! Maybe I'll bring it again to SakuraCon next year.

I had to complain about my decision not to bring it in hopes that I feel better. >_< Being practical is no fun!
