Ok, starting this early, i know. Just was wondering who was doing Air Gear for 2011? What's the plan guys?

I just watched this, was pretty awesome. Can we build those motorized rollerblades now? I would cosplay this if I had some AT's.

I looked it up and don't see any sort of wheel mechanics but I did notice a few rear blade powered types. I bet we could get some real AT's, though not as powerful the show, if someone really wanted to build them. Not to mention a year or so worth of just design

I so want an AT gang. Some how I think I might need to ride rollerblades in the first place, if I want something like that hehe.

So excited, I just found some actual AT's while browsing youtube some more on the cosplay. They are a work in progress still but they are 100% real, however not yet the speed you would need for doing much. To bad they are not sellable yet. :*(

I'd just make them as boots. So pretty much, they would be her boot/skates, but with out the wheels on them.

I'm not sure what I'm doing for Akito yet...Probably just converse, since he wears those when he goes to the school.

I'm pretty sure simca has regular at's, only they have a boot like legging that goes up to the knee/thigh. You could add leather or fabric to a rollerblade if you wanted to have them. I think she also has a different pair of at's that actually look like boots, but I don't know if that is right. You probably wouldn't even want to try to make those any how..

I still say make normal boots. B/c we couldn't go around the con area with blades on. But for a photoshoot you could.

I don't know about that. If you walked on the skates in most of the areas I bet they wouldn't notice/say anything. Just depends on how much time you are going to spend playing around compared to sitting down at panels and relaxing. I would so wear my AT's the whole time (or until my feet started to hurt.)

So the boots idea was a gr8 suggestion (mainly cause i'm short), but I can't seem to find any green ones. I'm thinking about getting converse, unless someone can find sum green boots

Well, there's always Go-Go boots off Ebay or something. But I'd say just make boot covers, b/c finding an actual boot that high wouldn't be that cheap.

Ya you probably want to make shoe covers. It will be more comfortable and a lot cheaper. If you had boots already that were usable, you could also paint them to the right look.

well i'm wearing this one: http://www.cosplayhouse.com/Air-Gear-Simca-of-the-Swallow-Version-03-Cosplay-Costume.html so the height is not a problem, and i don't really own boots because I've had knee surgery and broken my ankle, and spent so much time recovering that I just havent had time to wear them

I was going to get custom made allstars the same color as the pants (maybe slightly off).... I was hoping that would look good...

I don't think she actually wears them, but that's her outfit on the cover for the second volume.
I love those things too!

So, yeah, just simple boots would work ^^

And I am now dedicated to learn how to ride blades and then get a pair to make them like Akito's!

If you want to get cheap rollerblades, go to goodwill. They are used and beat up, but if you don't know how to ride it won't matter as long as you find ones that fit. It is easy to blade around, sadly we do not have great concrete to ride around here in oregon. Go find a skate park and ask a cute boy/girl to teach you

If no one is blading just ask everyone there if they know how to skate well, or know someone or somewhere with more roller bladers.

If you get a decently working pair of old skates, you can easily turn them into AT's by taking out the middle two wheels. Then just add modeling clay/foam, paint a base coat, then add details.

I got my blades from big 5, they were on clearance for only 45 bucks. But i've been riding rollderblades since i was like 8, so i'm willing to shell out the money for them.
And yeah, i know she doesnt actually wear that outfit in any of the chapters, but i think it's totally cool. it's one of the reasons i started reading it! (that and i got to watch the anime on netflix)
As far as making ur own AT's, totally cool!!! I like the idea. Anyone going to try it?

I was planning on getting a pair from Goodwill. Especially to practice on. I know some friends who could help me.
I might try and do that...Though I don't think I'll actually have the time...But who knows!

Would be awesome to get a whole group to do the cover art. It just looks so much cooler! And it make you stand out more ^^

Omgosh yes! if we can we should totally have 2 groups, the cover art group, and the regular group. But i know that it's more money and such, so I don't expect this to be feasible, but still!

Double posting b/c it's been a couple of days and I'm updating......

So, my Akito cosplay came today. I love wearing it, but it was hand-made by the person I bought it from and so not in the greatest shape. Plus it's a little too small...So I'm probably gonna sell it myself and then get a different one.
It's nice...But not worth $50......

It wasn't a commission. She made it for herself and then was selling it.

It's my fault for not asking enough questions...But the sizes she gave made it fit me...It's just a little too tight, but it does fit.

But as I said, it's not in the greatest condition, so I'm planning on selling it (or sending it back) and getting it commissioned so it'll actually fit me...

Especially since the only thing of it that fits me is the jacket...The pants don't fit and so the straps don't either....*sigh*

Though, I've been wearing it and such, and I've been growing attatched to it...I'm working on losing some weight, so I'll probably see what that does. But I can't shrink my shoulders....I'll probably fix it up and then sell it for what it's actually worth. Depending on what the person says about a refund...

But truely, I need to talk to Agito to see what he is thinking, so we can attempt to have matching outfits.

I did find these awesome Akito and Agito that made thee jackets, so I'm talking with them about it.

I've seen a few really well done jacket/pants. I don't know what the material they used but it looked just like the anime, some sort of nice shiny plastic like material. It sucks the costume you got was too small, but if you made it yourself it would fit for sure! I know not everyone likes to make their costume, but to me, I don't think I would wear something I didn't make myself. I don't feel like there is a reason to dress up in a costume if I didn't make it, or at least help...

I think the one thing I really like about this jacket I got, is that the white stripe down the arm is a zipper. I love zippers and I think itjust gives it a cool effect!

i've had my hair purple and blue b4 (yeah yeah, my mistake on the blue), but never pink, and hers is a light shade of pink, not a bright one, so that might make it hard for me to keep. luckily im only planning on being simca for 1 day, so i might make it the first day (depending on when our photo-shoot is). i just don't know if im going to be able to get my hair long enuf by then.

Sui, I think it'd be fine, but yeah, I'd say make sure you re-dye when you actually wanna be her. That's always the good thing about wigs, they keep their color forever and they don't kill your hair...But if you want, go right ahead.

I think we'll decide the day for the shoot when it gets a little closer. It is only April after all

Hopefully we will be able to plan it around everyone's schedule, but chances are it will conflict with what at least 1 person wanted to do.
On a side note, I'm getting a new camera! Last year I shot everything on my kodak that only has 7 megapixels, which didn't go too well as far a zoom goes. Anyone have any suggestions as to photo editing software?

I'll be cosplaying Ikki with the Replica of his AT's in the Kogarasumaru outfit. I'll also be getting a plush crow and somehow getting it to stay on the wing or shoulder and I'll be possibly having my friend help me make some emblems =3.

Now I have to ask some say his hair is like a really dark blue almost black and some say it's black. What do all of you think?

I think it's really dark blue almost black so I got a dark blue wig that I may darken a bit more.

Ashitaka, I think going with a dark blue that's close to black would be fine. I have a problem with the anime b/c it seems they gave everyone a hint of a strange color in their hair.

I've always seen Ikki with a dark brown, close to black hair (similar to my own hair). So a more natural look. But you can do what ever you like!

I'm thinking of being a different character since I will for sure be doing Akito next year with my group...
Any ideas?

Well i'd have to say that it depends on if ur doing akito or agito, because they r two totally different ppl (so to speak). I would do the normal pants, just kinda baggy, straight-leg (i believe that's what they are).... then because ur going fem, i'd pick a more form-fitting jacket? sound good?

There are some kinda crappy buildings near by if people wanted to try and take some rail/wall riding pictures. Do this at your OWN RISK, because I don't remember if they are on obviously abandoned property or just not so well kept property. Ether way, if you scout around a bit you can find some other spots to shoot as well.

so bad news... due to financial issues (that being i'm moving out, to portland, a few weeks after kcon), i won't b able to get my simca cosplay.

i only have 1/2 of what i need to get it, so it'll have to wait til next year. I am still planning on going to the photoshoot with my new, sweet camera to shoot the pics and such, so i hope to see u all there!
