I like to use Nihongo words in English sentences, and I love eating expensive sushi because it's so kawaii, although I actually don't really like the taste LOL haha! ^^;  I make lots of smileys all the time because they're cute, and ramune is the best drink ever!  I don't watch american TV because it's not good and I read all about Japanese history on wikipedia!  I'm definitely not a weeaboo though~ n_n

Meh, many of us have our weeaboo phases. I can recall mine very clearly~ ........*shudder* Dang. >_<

But yeah, it's really not a big deal whether we should consider each other weeaboos or not depending on our interests or personality towards the Japanese culture. In the end, it's a mere term that is taken way too seriously at times. "HE/SHE SAID DESU! BASH THE WEEABOO GRAAAHHHH!" We're all fellow otakus with the same love for Japan and its many wonders. Peace? Love? Desu? *shot*

>People thinking you aren't a weeaboo just because you like something that's American.

No offense but though it is a matter of personal taste, it's also a matter of your attitude towards it. Not that I'm claiming anyone posting here is a weeaboo (Though, I do know 50% or more of the forum users are weeaboos) but I think it's a little silly going "Oh, I really, really love anime. But I do this/like this/eat this"

Also I was a weeaboo for 4 years. I'm glad I graduated from that time in my life.

On the subject though, given that interchanging common japanese with english sentences is a merit badge of Waps, is there a similar relationship when one says C'est la vie? or Gesundheit?

I love that I've defined weeaboo on 3 of the 4 pages of this thread, and people still somehow manage to not only be incapable of reading, but also incapable of typing a word into google and hitting "search"

I think it's some new operating system or something I'm not sure.  I hear Yahoo! developed this program that lets you look things up on the internet but I don't know how to get it or how much it costs.  If we could get that we could look up a google and learn all about it!

. . Oh. Sorry, I didn't understand you correctly. Also, it's spelled kielbasa, not keilbasa.

When you're in Poland and you want the Polish sausage I THINK you mean, you'll have to order "Polska Kielbasa."  :)

American stuff I like:
- American whaling songs of the 19th century
- Real, New England style clam chowda, followed by a perfect 1-3/8 pound Maine lobster,
the whole damned bug too, not just the tail. And quahogs stuffed with spiced cornmeal.
- Browning and Ramo machineguns of WW1 thru Vietnam era.
- General William Tecumseh Sherman. He cracked the back of the rebel south right, not screwing
around like we are now in Iran and Afghanistan, building schools and hospitals over there on
my tax money. (Isn't it 'war' when you make enemy cities blaze like Dresden, 1945?) Sherman
did it right and they named a tank after him. He ripped up hundreds of miles of rails, burned crops,
slaughtered or commandeered any useful draft animals, destroyed industrial machinery, and fed
his armies off the enemy's food stocks, leaving them in deprivation. (Nothing new here, Napoleon
and Genghis Khan did the same thing thing.) Key quote from Maj Henry Hichcock: "... to acquaint
the people of Georgia with the misery which attends war..."
- The P-51 Mustang was a nice American plane, and so was the DC-3.
- Combines and large agro-machinery made by New Holland and John Deere. We feed the world.
- The Oregon Trail and its pioneers.
- 1960s American muscle cars. No catalytic converters, no delay when you punch the pedal to the floor,
6mpg, 400+ cu in engines, 400+ shp, and screw those f_cking communist greenie-weenies. VARRROOOM!!
- American-made 100% rye whiskey
- Bayou foods (boudin, andouille, almost any alligator dish) Southern BBQ styles, Texan BBQ - nuclear chili.
- The sign atop Mt. Washington mentioning the highest recorded wind speed ever: 231mph.
- Casinos in Las Vegas, NV
- The 'high chaparral,' as in the landscape, not the TV show. Speaking of the TV show: http://www.thehighchaparral.com/
David Dortort passed away over last Kumoricon...
- Composer Aaron Copeland
- American painters Eric Sloane, Winslow Homer, and Andrew Wyeth

Other Non-Asian (non-weeaboo) stuff I like:
- Austrian and German-made machine pistols, Mercedes automobiles
- French wines, especially Bordeaux, Chinon, Chateauneuf-du-Pape, and Cotes du Rhone
- Swedish and Lithuanian foods. French Canadian foods and grade-D Maple syrup from Quebec
- Russian sausage, tea with a spoon of jam in it, and vanilla ice cream from the Moscow train station,
  chilled with dry ice.
- Swiss optics and sewing machines
- Choral composers Ralph Vaughn Williams, Christopher Tye, and John Sheppard
- Polar explorer Roald Amundsen
- Captain Henry Hudson, and Captain James Clark Ross
- Drs. Gerhard Domagk and Josef Klarer of (Bayer AG - the comany that produced aspirin) - these
guys discovered sulfanylamides. Google 'em, and see the millions of lives they saved.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt
Abigail Adams
Sojourner Truth
Kurt Vonnegut
Slaughterhouse-Five
Macaroni and cheese
Bigos
Paczki
Crepes
The Amazon Kindle
Die Prinzen
Wikipedia
Ask.com
Latkes
Jon Stewart
Burritos
LG phones
A mixed market
Nelson Mandela
Starbucks
Mohandas Ghandi
Cirque du Soleil
Nacho cheese flavoured Dorritos
Old stories
Faerie tales
Commonwealth spelling
Chili mac
Cooking expiraments

Harpsichords
Earl Grey tea

And etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. Does it really matter if they're American or not? Weaboos are weaboos anyway. Even if they like some things American, they're still weaboos.

And in the end, does it really matter?

(also, meep, Harry Potter is, y'know, British)

Well, I'm into sports, in particular: football (watching Seattle Seahawks vs. Denver Broncos right now), baseball, wrestling (both amateur & professional), hockey, tennis, la crosse, etc.
My favorite video game franchise is Tomb Raider (even though the originals are a lot better than the newer ones).
I had steak & pancakes last night.
My cosplay plans for 2022 (thus far): Vanir from Konosuba
My son's plans this year (thus far): Penguin Chiyo-chan from Azumanga Daioh
