Ease yourself back into life. Keep watching anime, listen to Japanese music and anime themes, read manga, try to stay in touch with friends via forums and facebook. It always is a bummer going back to "the real world", but if you can ease yourself back into it, it'll help. Start planning for next year! Just act like you have no down time at all between this year and the next, heh

I know exactly what you mean.. I'm kinda going through the same thing right now. Even listening to my regular music still seems weird at the moment.
The best cure for me has always just been time. You ease back into the daily motions eventually. I never try to force it. I just let it happen.
No matter how much I improve I'll always consider myself just a cosplayer in training.

I have tons of parties to go to with my dumb friends and generally I just stay on these forums to chat and ease it up.

It's pretty easy if you have a lot of stuff to do~ :3

QFT.

The after-con blues are always rough, even for those of us who spend 80% of it working. But find little ways to fill in the empty space, like the ones EveofAbyss mentioned, or sewing next year's costumes, or Googling interesting stuff you heard about at the convention, or going to staff meetings, or just plain staying busy.

That next-to-last one might actually be one of the best ways to combat the after-con blues. One of the biggest reasons we don't have more events throughout the year, and more programming at the big one? Not enough staff.

Some of us have the energy to work on more than one con, but it takes some of us all year just to recover and not burn out from overwork, and a lot of us burn out anyway and have to take years off before coming back. If we had more staff... it might not be as long until the next event in our area. Just sayin'.  :)

Ah! I completely understand. I was so bummed Monday evening. I'm "bridging the gap" my getting together with my new friends I met at the con, and also, planning for upcoming conventions.

While it's sad it's over (getting back to rl, work, etc), I'm kinda glad in a strange way...I nearly went broke! XP Plus, my poor kitty was waiting for me to come home at his usual places during those days I was gone!  :'(

I empathize. Yesterday I meant to sleep in, but after finally making it back to Eugene around midnight, I was awakened before sunrise by my roommate getting up for work :(

My sleep deppy self took yesterday basically as a day to recover alone with my kitty and giggle at eps of Glee.

The Eugene cosplay group that has formed via the forums is having a get-together, in cosplay, this weekend. :)

Oh, and I'm finalizing the schedule for our Creation Station for Orycon and recruiting folks to join me at MEW. :)

I just got back from the gym and I feel awesome.  I didn't realize how much I missed kicking my own butt. ^^  I mean, it had only been since Friday, but still.. XD  My workout just started "Phase II" or something so I get to do different exercises at a higher weight, so it's challenging in a new way.

For those of you that are feeling sad that the con is over, you can always head over to the plan your own adventure board and see if anyone's planning a meetup. Kumoricon does it's general meetings every month(ish) and that can be a great time/place to come see the people you missed from con, learn about volunteering, and to just see what's new in Kumoricon.

Personally I'd love to see a bunch of people coordinate going to a park or something in cosplay and getting together and doing something fun like capture the flag or something, but heh... that could just be me ^.^

It always feels like I am reunited to a long lost piece of myself and after three days I lose it again for six months. It takes me a few days to get back into my normal routine. It was sad to leave the con however while my friends and I were hanging out at the Ben and Jerry's next to Clackamas we ran into two cosplayers from the con. It was like Kumoricon giving us one last hug before we left. Then it was a long drive back home several miles from any cons of any type.

I agree with a lot of what people are saying about dealing with the Post Kumoricon Blues just try to stay busy. Also finding something to watch that you like which isn't anime related can help. On Tuesday I watched an episode of Madmen I had on my dvr god that's such a good show and it was a great episode too and that helped me feel a little like I was back to a normal routine at least for a little bit.

I just want to admit this, because the thread called to me. After Kumoricon this year, I cried. I mean I really cried. I was so sad that it was over for another year (gotta start next year's cosplay!!) and I'm really hoping to see the people I met again. I wonder if some of them are on here. Probably  . . . .  ;)
Anyway, after crying and being so busy I couldn't cry, I find the injustice in the fact that the three best days of my life (so far, and it sounds cliche, but I do mean it) went by so quickly. I couldn't really grasp that they were there, and they were gone.  :'(

I want to try and hard and make it to the first meeting, because I'm seriously interested in doing some volunteer work for the con next year, problem is living in Salem with no spooty license. -___-

I get the same feeling after any fan convention I go to (furry, anime, or Science Fiction) I found the best way to beat back post convention blues is to have something to do between cons. I am involved with a local fury group which meets for lunch. Is there anime group avaible. One can start a viewing group or party or orgnize cosplay outings.

If push come to shove you can use this with a few modifications  ;D

Nothing to be ashamed of with that. It is the highlight for most of our year's, and we all share a sense of depression at leaving what has become a haven for most of us. Luckily for us, the forums are always abuzz with activity and good con-friends. So, stick on the forums and keep an ear open for new gatherings and get-togethers. ^_^

Man.. I was really, really close to crying, actually.  It was weird.  When I got home and I brought everything in and I just this huge like .. emotional drain .. and I felt a little lonely and sad for a bit.  It was tough. ;-;

I know what you mean, Reppy. It's like reverse culture shock. I always leave the con, settle back home, and instantly feel really empty. It's a hollow feeling, but once I adjust and even back out, things tend to get better.

Hope you're feeling better, though!

I started listening to the Shadow of the Colossus soundtrack, which doesn't effect the Con Crash itself, but it makes my dreams epic.

I wake up in the morning, and am like, "Aw, I don't get to go to the awesome con... but at least I got to stab a giant Snorlax in the eye."

I kid you not, I actually had that dream.

Same I am still feeling the aftermath of the con, i have been having weird dreams, and last night i had a scary zombie dream. I blame the con 100% for that, but i am hoping to snap out of it this weekend when i go and see Resident Evil IN 3D!i!i!i!i!i

I get completely wired the first day of con (Thursday for staff.) Then, on the Tuesday afterwords I always feel positively lethargic and tired, because my body is used to running in overdrive.

I would like to go to the Dir En Grey show, but I've got to pick and choose at this point, heh. Have a blast though!

I'm sad it's over, I've been just so excited for next year's convention, that this morning, I woke up to a dream of me meeting my friend at the hotel and realizing I forgot stuff, such as my cosplay at home. . . >.> Since I can't drive, apparently in my dream, there's a bus that goes from Vancouver to Salem. . . So, I took it, got my stuff, and when I got back to the hotel in my dream, realized I forgot my cosplay again. xD I gave up though, I'd missed all of Day 1 in my dream. T>T

But, other than that dream, I've been okay with readjusting, just been watching some anime, my friend finished Durarara!! just before the convention, that I decided to sit from the time I got home at midnight Wednesday morning(yeah. . . >.>) just to start and finish watching it. xD

I almost cried i was torn though because i was sick i wanted to go home but once i was there i got really depressed and i laid in bed for quite a while until my boyfriend finally got me going and we enjoyed a evening of cooking brownies, reading manga and playing halo ^^ it was fun and then cuddling with my friend's big bear dog XD

But when i look at my pics, i definitely feel sad and depressed that the con is over. :(
me too! i snuck in the back stock room at work and designed my halloween costume and my pokemon gijinka for next year! XD i didn't get caught or in trouble either which is good ^^;

Same I am still feeling the aftermath of the con, i have been having weird dreams, and last night i had a scary zombie dream. I blame the con 100% for that, but i am hoping to snap out of it this weekend when i go and see Resident Evil IN 3D!i!i!i!i!i

i've been driving my co-workers nuts because k-con is all i can talk about. xD

and to make it worse, i work at Victoria's Secret and the life of an otaku is not exactly something they wanna know about... they rather imagine there is no such thing. Its amusing. X3

lmao i know what you mean i have some anime friends at work but they are in other departments my lady friends have no idea what im talking about XD but they like the costume pics XD

I want to try and hard and make it to the first meeting, because I'm seriously interested in doing some volunteer work for the con next year, problem is living in Salem with no spooty license. -___-

This is one of the reason we try and rotate where the meetings are held.  Last year, we had at least two meetings in Salem.  Just keep an eye out for the announcements on where/when they are :)

I like to surround myself with a few friends, maybe do some baking, and start sorting out all of the pictures I took at photoshoots and get them online for all the people I took them of. I just try not to be isolated for the next few days.

I've been watching quite a bit of anime, and I just can't stop thinking of next year's cosplay (though I don't feel like I can start work on them yet).

A couple days ago I started watching UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie, pretty fun, very cutesy. Just being excited thinking of next year and conversing on the forums.  :)

My poor facebook page exploded after con. It's so bad that facebook now only lets me send 2 friend request a day. D:

I so understand how you feel!, I was so bummed when I came home and sat here on my chair..sitting on the forums lol. The con was amazing and I always hate leaving cons, but the best thing for you I would say is, just keep watching anime! ^^, and if you met or have any con friends, plan a day where you can meet up, cosplay, and go do a event. There also other cons that go on before Kumoricon as well..., try attending those as well. That's what I'm doing :)

I really need to get a Facebook before the con next year. I miss everyone so much!!!! And the sad thing is, there are some I might never see again. Some I might not recognize, and since we have two hotels next year, running into them is gonna be hard. Here's hoping Kumoriball brings us together again.  ;)
That sounded cheesy.  ::)
Now I'm over that post-con low. I'm looking forward to next year, and planning cosplay, and trying to find a way to go to Sakuracon.  ;)

You know... I used to get that feeling when my friend(s) had to leave for the day after several hours of hanging out, playing, whatever. I also get that empty feeling after Kumoricon is over. But then I look at all the sweet stuff I bought or made (in the case of going to a prop workshop or something). Then I tell all my non Kumoricon friends about the fun I had. That usually makes things better. Then I go about my normal, daily life. Before I know it, it's time to go back to Kumoricon. Hopefully, I will be going this next time. Be on the look out for either a Master Roshi in a wheelchair. You might have seen him at Kumoricon2010 at the Hilton Hotel in Downtown Portland. I might be Giovanni from Pokemon this year, though. Either way. It's not the end of the world when the convention is over. I got the same feeling around 7:00 am after an all night grad party when I graduated from highschool. I got home around 7:00. That's when the nostalgia kicked in. And I also have friends who go to Kumoricon every year. So the convention doesn't really end. Sure. I don't get to see the vendors, do karaoke or play vidoegames all the time. But that's just... The whole once a year thing makes it all special. ^_^
