Come one, come all, to the second anual AkuRoku day Picnic/Teaparty. Friday was a bad day, it was friday the 13th, I didn't realise this. we had such bad luck, so I'm making a "re-take" of what was supposed to happen on Friday.

I shall be your lovely, adorable, chubby, event planner Roxas. Who's in need of an Axel this year. I didn't have one last year, so lets make it count this year! xD I joke.

If you don't know, or weren't here last year, or you just didn't pay attention last year:

What: A teaparty/picnic to celebrate the yaoi pairing AxelXRoxas on their "pairing day" 8/13
When: August 16
Time: 10:00am - 10:00pm
Where: Pioneer Courthouse Square/Waterfront park [FOUNTAIN]

AkuRoku is one of the biggest non canon yaoi couples the fans have ever made. AkuRoku, aka 8/13 is Axel and Roxas from KH2. Though there are various -other- pairings in the series [/coughLeaxIsacough] all are welcome, but remember, this is for the Axel and Roxas cosplayers... Mostly.

Heya. I'm new to, well, everything. These forums, the con, the city.... the state. Anyway, I couldn't help but notice the awesomeness that is this picnic/tea party/shindig, and was hoping you guys would be willing to let a Portland newbie like me join in.(Although I suppose technically I'm asking Konan, since you're organizing the event) I already cosplay Xigbar, but by then I may have another org. member in the works. I'm still undecided on who as of yet.

Haha, well, there was one highly interesting little crack pairing last year. I think it was Larxene doing Axel. Hayner was standing in the background makin a 'lawl' face. I'll have to upload the pics from last year as soon as I get my laptop back.

That makes sense, given the theme. But I can understand why people are doing other characters. I'd love to cosplay Axel, but I don't have the skills for the wig. And I'm to tall to go as Roxas, even if I could somehow make his wig. There might also just be a small amount of Axel and Roxas cosplayers who are around and/or aware of the picnic.

Yes, lets suffer together. I was actually just gunna go to dollar tree and pick up some heavy duty packing tape. I had a roll, but it got used up last halloween when I went trick or treating. Ffffffff that was not a fun time.. I left the binding on for three days, because I couldn't take it off xD

anyway, I won't force you to use the ace bandage if you have something else that works. If you were really attaching the tape to your skin I'd make you, but you're not so it's ok. You can do whatever you prefer. The bandage isn't super long, so if you're "well endowed" it alone might not be enough. But if you want to use it, say the word and I'll bring it.

Well, I did attach it to the skin once, and that was last Kumo, and wasn't very smart. I tore skin, and I couldn't crossplay for the rest of con.

Ffff if I had a Riku wig I'd wear it as well, since I've got everything minus the wig and tie.

I thought about cosplaying Riku. But he get's a lot of attention, and I probably wouldn't do a very good job on his clothes. And I remembered I'd rather cosplay another Orgy member anyway. My next wig purchase will be.... um... well either Larxene or Marluxia. I'm really undecided which I'd rather do. I thought about doing one of those two for the Akuroku picnic (which ever I settled on) But I might still be undecided by then.

I have a coat, I love my coat. It cost me an arm and a leg. Well, maybe just an arm. But at the time I had been living with my dad, so saving up was easier. I didn't have any financial commitments.
I need to get(make) some new chains for it though. The one's that came with it keep breaking.

I think that's a good idea. We've gotta get food there somehow right? And it's impractical to expect someone to bring everything. So... um, one vote for pot-luck?

Yeah, I think my first coat will be less acurate, then I'll upgrade to a more nicer coat.

Yup. I think that it's a wise idea, and we'll have someone bring paper plates and cups and stuff too.

I think It'll be wise to wait until closer to the picnic, say the end of July or so, before we start really figuring out who's gonna bring what. People are more likly to know what they can bring and people like me will be less likely to forget what they're bringing.

Hey guys, I need some help with styling my hair. :3 Well, first off, I have a crazy thick amount of hair. I tried to style it Roxas-ish, to see if it was remotely possibly to be a Roxas for the picnic, but I ran into a few problems. First, the spikes, would not stay up to save my life, second, I could not place the bobby pins and hairpins in the right area, and I was never happy so I ended up piling them up in one place, or just taking them out and trying to out them in again. //Where did those picture go? Dangnabbit..// When I find those pictures I'll edit this and put 'em in.

I personally use hairspray. Aussie instant freeze extreme hold hairspray actually. I like the way it smells. It also has the added bonus of holding my mohawk up, usually all day. But my hair isn't super thick, so that's enough for me. You could try it, but you have to hold the spikes up while they dry, so your arms would get pretty tired. Or bend over at the waist, and hang upside down which is what I do.
You can also get it wet, put some stuff in it at the roots (pomade or root boost, or something like that) and blow dry from underneath, which encourages lift and makes styling a little easier.
Sorry I can't offer more, but that's about the extent of my hair knowledge.

I've styled Fal's Roxas wig at least 5 times, and I'm making another. I think I could style Roxas in my sleep by now =~=
I could help you Vex. Though, I'm not sure how long it will take...If anything, you can style it a little and then I'll attack it at the picnic ^^

Well I don't hang upside down for very long. I've got this all worked out. It only takes like... five, ten minutes tops to style my hair, and I straighten back up a lot to make sure things aren't doing anything to weird. I think I got some vertigo the first time I did it though.
