Hi I'm running a panel on Anime that scarred me for life, I know a few shows that I'm gonna talk about, was wondering what other stuff you guys/girls had seen that messed with your heads/souls.

LAIN
X (the manga. It really tears you up inside!!)
Angel Sanctuary the manga is pretty good for a brain screw.

Serial Experiments Lain!!!
NEVER EVER will I look at the internet, or anything the same way. The people that made that show where on something. .__.
Soul Taker was really weird too. As was Gatekeepers 21.
Is anyone else noticing a pattern in these shows?
.__. They where all shown on Tech/G4 TV's 'Anime Unleashed'. That network is trying to mess me up with their 'VideoGame Vixens' and their 'X-play', 'Attack of the Show'.

Hentai cosplaying has messed me up. *Carefully avoids using the words screwed and hentai in the same sentence, but obviously, failed miserably*.

Oh yeah, and the inflating body of Tetsou in Akira. Yep, that pretty well messed me up for life.

Well, concidering how the first anime series I watched in full was Neon Genisis Evangelion, marathon-style, off of 3rd generation copies, of dubs, I'd say that pretty much is the one that scarred me. That, and then the movie when I finally saw it.
From then on there's been little else that's phased me until I watched Speed Grapher. I never want to go to a dentist again.

Hellsing (MANGA) the manga is so bloody.... but i love it!!!

GioBreaders (kittys that can go through anything that can conduct electricity is freeky... also can take 100000 bullets and still rip your arm off like butter)

I've heard Lain is the most trippy, but Evangelion is the one that really messed with my head. I was immune by the time I saw the movies though.

My friend Ian owned all but the last 3 VHS tapes of the series back in the day so we watched them night by night until Friday, when we rented the last three from the comics shop. We watched them back to back after dinner and when the final episode ended we stared at the black TV.
We looked at each other, then back at the TV, then at each other.
then we started screaming and running around the dorm.

I'd like to add that if seeing human brains explode disturbs you, do not watch New Fist of The North Star (In the original, it was edited even for Japanese television broadcast, the new one, however, is very graphic).

I just want to state for the record that just because it's a brainscrew, doesn't mean I don't like it!

I LOVE Angel Sanctuary, Evangelion, Lain and X is my favourite manga! They're just very . . . influential!

I know it's not... scary or nothin' but... I think Tomo-chan had a bad infulence on me... I had a weird daydream the other day about going around town with my friends dressed up in cosplay from the show, and I was Tomo, and I jumped onto a car and I was like 'BIRUBIRUBIRU!' (~Biru = Beer) and them I did a flip and we all ran to Dairy Queen. And then I was sitting there, and I was like 'OHMYGAWD. THAT WOULD BE SO COOL.'
And I was just thinkin' about how dangerous Anime/Manga is to my brain...
I also bought Yostuba& (The & is from 'and' with is part of the title. 'To' translates into 'and' or 'with' from Japanese... Or so the book said. xD) and She let a bunch of Cicadas loose in her neighbors house, and I was (With my Cicada fetish xDD) thinking about gettin' some and doing that myself... o__o; Maybe it's not Anime/Manga, maybe it's Kiyohiko Azuma!

I saw all of eva(minus the movie) straight and it didn't really messed with my head. akira just confused me(then it was the movie version so that may be why...). I like to see Puni Puni Poemy though, excel saga was very funny(and the all the notes were interesting too.)

Fist Of The Northstar Saw that with Shen when I first got into Anime, and OH MY FLIPPING LORD WAS THAT BLOODY! I was physically ill after watching that....
Neon Genesis Evangelion The series was messed up, but good, but I can't watch the movie all the way through...
Speed Grapher Good, but after each episodes it's like "WTF?!"

There's probably more, but that's all I can think of at the moment

Wolf's Rain

Well technically I was already messed up but it helped me look at myself and see how pitiful I was. My "friend" who loves that show was majorly dissing (if I'm allowed to use such a lame term xD ) InuYasha so I decided I hated Wolf's Rain, and on the last episode I found myself laughing hysterically/maniaclly as all the main characters died. :?
