Yu Gi Oh Tournament
« on: June 23, 2005, 03:05:37 pm »

I would like to have a yu gi oh car tournament some time during the conventuon. if anyone is interested, please post. there are still a few months until the convention. plenty of time to get your decks organized for a tournament.

My only condition for this tournament is we play according to the Ban and limitations on cards. i will post a link with the current bans and limitations tomorrow.

I would be very very interested in a YuGiOh tourney.  Let's go pro/advanced all the way!!

Here are some links to the official Upperdeck site stuff:

Forbidden / Limited List (Effective April 1st) for Advanced Format
Limited List (Effective April 1st) for Traditional Format

By the way Zenn, what type of deck do you run?

hahahaha.  Wow.  you take this all quite seriously.  Honestly, I wasn't trying to get a 'tactical advantage', I was just trying to talk shop.

I am pretty sure it got banned because:
a) there is no cost to activate it.
and
b) you can reborn something from either graveyard.

Lately I have been using a level-up! deck or a beatdown deck and I like the way they work.  I also sometimes use some zombie stuff.  You know, I just use my deck and my side deck has the right kinds of cards so I can change it up enough to deal with basically any type deck I come up against.

There are still a bunch of cards I need to put in my deck to make it better like a couple cards of the last LV monster in the level up! progression, but those are hard to get by luck...

The thing is that I am determined to not spend a lot of money on my YuGiOh hobby, so unless I can make the trades, I am sticking with what I got.

and how about you Kyubi?  what sort of deck do you use?

Ok. i guess i can tell everyone what kind of deck i am currently using.the deck i use is built almost entirely around fire. i only have 1 monster in this deck that is a higher lvl than 4. most of the deck revolves around being able to get a few specific monsters to the field at any given time. this deck has never been defeated aside from being decked out once.
by the time the convention rolls around this deck may be out dated so dont be surprised if i dont use it.

decking out is the WORST.  I have only done that once at a tournament.  A guy was using the most evil stall deck with gravity bind, scapegoats, level limits, messenger of peace, ugh.  what a mess.  I lost the first duel, but the next one I got the right cards out and beat him, but they had to call the duel for time.  It was very frustrating. :x

How long have you been playing Zenn?  I have had cards for a few years, but never played seriously up until like 3 months ago and I love it.

Well, I think that I am all in favor of an advanced/pro type tourney.  I know earlier I said I like playing traditional, but I am done with that.  IT'S TIME TO DUEL!!!

less than 2 months to prepare your decks. I'll be bringing 2 decks and 30+ rare cards to trade with.

Sweet.  I have 3 decks, but only one of them is one I'd use in a tournament, the others are just for fun casual duelling.  I hope to have a fair share of rares/supers/ultras/ultimates ready for trading too.  I can't wait for this new Dark Beginning 2 booster.  So many good cards made easier to get!!!
