I'm living in Eugene and I agree something definitely needs to be planned. I love going to Portland, but it'd be nice to not have to go so far for a meet up. It seems a tad unfair that all the cool things I always miss out on because I live in Eugene, while everything is planned in Portland.

Normies? In Eugene? That's funny. I went with my friend Misse to the Walmart on West 11th wearing our Zexion and Marluxia wigs. We didn't get any funny looks. Not one. Some old lady even commented on the color of our hair being pretty. Then some guy from the electronics department asked who we were cosplaying. Eugene is full of hippies and other strange people. I admit we're not up there with Portland on the wierd level, but we've got our share.

From what I've heard, all the normies are in Canada, not a single strange person. My goal of scaring normies is to go to Canada with a bunch of chick friends all dressed up in lolita and just walk around enjoying ourselves.

But yeah, Eugene is cool like that. There was this one cosplay meet I went to and we made a few heads turn here and there but the environment remained chill the majority of the time. It's still fun getting "wtf" looks from the occasional normie though. xD

Ooooh. Alton Baker Park would be fun! There's a lot of areas down there that would be good for a photo shoot. Like the bridge and the spiral stairs and some places down near the water. Does anyone know if they still have the fencing up around the pond that the ducks and geese are always at?

GAHH!! I have been so busy with school I haven't had time to check the forum in awhile. I was looking to see if there was an Asian Celebration thread and found this one.

Yeah, sorry people. I am the Anime Friday guy that Rem was referring to earlier. Feel free to PM me or check my profile for my e-mail. I will be having Anime Friday tomorrow as well as every Friday at 7:00pm. I will also be at the Asian Celebration if you want to talk to me about stuff there. I will be cosplaying Hohenheim from FMA. If you don't know who that is look for a guy in a long brown coat with a blue bow-tie and blond wig. I will usually be someplace making origami dragons and T-Rexes, so Check the craft room near the cat-ear workshop. I also like playing anime music, so I may be trying to get time on the sound system in that room as well.

What is Anime Friday? Well it is viewing anime every Friday. Duh!

I have been having viewing parties at my home every Friday for about five years now. I have download subs of just about every show to air in Japan during that time, as well as a lot of older shows. You name it, I probably have it, or know where I can get it. I have over two terabytes of stuff on drives that I can access from my livingroom. All anime is displayed on a 46" HDTV in the livingroom and played over a 7.1 surround system. I am as good or better than many of the theaters in town for audio quality.

If coming by LTD it is bus #40. Get off at the corner of Elmira and Fairfield.

Is this some sort of reference to being way out there (as in the planet Pluto) or Mikey's dog Pluto or what. Sorry It is to vague for me to get it.

Hendricks Park is just off of Franklin Blvd, not to far from the U of O. If you are heading toward Springfield (East) then turn right at the last light onto Walnut (The right lane actually forces you to turn) and follow the signs on the left side of the road. I think it is Summit Ave. The park is easy to find.

All along the Skinner's Butte Bike Path heading towards Alton Baker Park(Where the sun is) there's models of each planet. It was part of the Solar System Project. Pluto, I'm guessing since I can't ever find it, has been taken out because NASA says it's not a planet anymore. How have you lived in Eugene and not known about the planets? They've been there for as long as I can remember.

I now of the planets (I used to ride my bike down the path from Day Island Park to Alton Baker Park back in 1980) I just didn't connect the Pluto you were talking about with those. Actually I don't remember where Pluto was. I thought it was around VRC someplace.

Okay good. Just checking. I was like "umm...what?" That's the only pluto I ever really think about since my curiosity wants to know where it is or used to be since I ride my bike there a lot.

We should...And Pluto is no where near the VRC. I've checked multiple times. I can NEVER find pluto. I found a spot where it possibly could've been at one point.Going on a planet hunt would totally be fun. Would we start at Alton Baker Park where the sun is?

Someday when it's NOT raining. I love the rain, I'm an Oregonian, I can't help it, but I'm ready for summer, like, now. I'm not sure when a good time would really be. I still need to get started on my Edward Elric cosplay. I'm basically down to just Zexion(casual at that, since I can't afford the Orgy coat yet), since Tifa got rendered useless at K-con. I just can't work on any cosplays right now since I'm currently broke. It's really depressing since every time I look at the sewing machine I get the urge to work on cosplay, but then it dawns on me that I can't.

That does help me actually. The next sunny, warm day we have, I'm getting on my bike and going to see if Pluto is there or not.

Okies~ I'll just wait for any others who are interested in this, at least some of the locals who posted here in the first place. xD

While I'm at it, I'll start naming off possible days for the meet. There is the 26th, 27th, July 1st (since it's Canada's birthday, I'm tempted to take off the day just for that. x3 <3), 3rd, 4th (iffy since it is a holiday, unless you guys have no plans and want to celebrate together? OMG, someone needs to cosplay America for this holiday!! 8D)... And there's all the other weekends as well if we need to move the date to a later time for some reason.

As for the meet itself, we need to think of a good meeting spot where we won't get too lost or confused. The last meet I went to here, we met up at the Eugene Station which was no problem for us since everyone knew where it was and we found each other without a problem. Plus, it's right dab in the middle of downtown which is nice. We could do that or meet up at Valley River Mall, get some grub and walk to Polk Park right across the bridge. It's the perfect place for photo opportunities. I take pics every time I go there. I personally prefer the latter but it's up to you guys. :3
