We got the all clear.

No Tsunami, thankfully.

Even thinking about it has me sad.

I bet it didn't hit because I wasn't there.  Glad to hear everything is okay over there.

I have this theory that Natural Disasters tend to follow me and my cousin.  Long story.

Not true, a typhoon is hitting Oregon tomorrow, and there's always the hurricanes that hit the southwest all the time.

@Panda0_0
I think most of us, myself included, thought you were referring to natural disasters.  Also, "Water Spout" is what you're looking for for a tornado that hits the water.

@Neko_chan and anyone else who wants to hear some rambling story
Our story begins when my cousin and I went on a road trip from Oregon to Florida (final destination should give you a hint already).  As we stopped in Independence, Missouri, there was a flood warning due to lots of rain.  We left the next day and later that night we learn Independence was flooded.  We reach Florida, I leave for home (plane), and Florida is hit with a record number of typhoons.  I leave for Japan and we also get a record number of typhoons here.  Later on Japan also gets the worst earthquake in the past 10 years.  And finally, it snows on several different days in Tokyo which really, really, really, rarely happens.

Wow. o-o Maybe I won't go to K-con... Who knows what you'll bring us.
SPEAKINGOFJAPAN. o-o You know the sicadas? Is it illigal to bring them back from Japan over to the US? D: Beacuse I reeaalllyyy want one. They sound so pretty. But I know about invasive animals and stuff, so I don't think it's a very good idea.

Amen, black marth. Living in the Tualatin Valley gives me a nice little shelter from even the worst of the mild weather we get.

Why do you want a cicada Neko? I thought we already had them in the US.

I heard Easterners complaining about them last summer.

Beacuse I'm so stupid and obsessed with anime that I want one to have during the summer so I feel like I'm in Japan.

Anime would lead you to believe otherwise, though. Especially Love Hina. :D

Yeah, the easterners complained about the Cicadas for awhile earlier this year. They were all out and about causing all sorts of rucus. I heard alot of car accidents came out because of it.

Right, so isn't it going to be another 7 years before they go all crazy and noisy again?

You're telling me.  I was surprised to hear my host-mother say this sort of thing doesn't really happen.  But if you go further outside the city limits, then you find lots of snow.

@Neko_chan
I would assume it is illegal and I'm not going to try it just to find out.  ^_^
Plus I don't think they live that long.
I believe the cicada thing in the east happened before I left for Japan.  And yeah, I also hear they're not coming back for another 7 years over there.  (They broke up, started their own careers, realized they were better off together, and will then reunite the band)  (sorry, bad joke)
