So since the last one was such an awsome sucess, I was thinking we should have a valentines meetup I don't know if you guys want it on that day since you might have plans with your loved ones or lovers for that matter, so the subect is rather open at the moment till we decide when.

"meeting February the 13th at noon at Salmon St Fountain, in case of rain/you get there and no one else is there, meet in Pioneer Place food court (bottom floor)"

Date: I suggest the 13th-- it's a Saturday, and the day before so that it doesn't infringe on any romantic plans while still being properly festive (as opposed to it occurring after the date).
Time: Noon? One? Whatever's best, man. Plus it's a Saturday so we could (maybe potentially) be out later.(?)

Who I'm cosplaying: Ehhh... Maybe if I have Hungary finished by then (not likely, but possible) I'd be her, but in all honestly I probably wouldn't cosplay, and I'd opt for wearing pink/red/white instead.

Also, we should discuss where we should meet. I'll be selfish and suggest Portland since I live here, haha xD Maybe hitting up NW 23rd? Getting some Voodoo? Checking out... No, nevermind, Saturday Market won't be open. Um. I don't know, just throwing out ideas.
I like that we're planning for this so early, too xD

If you guys are cool with playing outdoor-type running around games, a park would be good.
Unfortunately, I don't really know the big, open parks around here. We'd need somewhere with grass fields, ideally, and easy access by public transportation. Does anyone know anywhere like that?

well there is the park in downtown portland. um i forget the name. it's near the art institute. hmmz i can look at it in my map upstairs XD but i can't atm. i'll check it later. it has lots of grass and stuff and we can go and eat around there and shop and stuff. it's the closest place i can think of >.< and it is quite easy to access :3

The park blocks? There's a whole bunch of other buildings and stuff to do down there that we could use as our backup plan if it gets too cold.

The only other parks I know are Bagley Park and where Peter Bosco Elementary used to be. Both of those are about a block from my house, which is about three blocks from the Hillsboro TC MAX stop. There's also Shute Park, which you can get to on the 57 bus line. Shute Park is also next to a library. I don't think many people would want to come out to Hillsboro, though. ' w ';

My worry about the park blocks is that they're really popular, near places of business and don't have much in the way of wide-open spaces. It might not be the best place to, say, have a wife-carrying competition. For keepin' up the Valentine's spirit.

They are kinda far out for a lot of people, but it's good to keep all the options in mind anyway.

Places... The only big, uncrowded parks I know that aren't the Park Blocks are in North Portland, which is not really convenient to get to even though it's closer than Beaverton or Hillsboro. Those parks are also very shaded, so they'd be cold. I'd be fine with either of the malls, if only for potential cute date pictures with the food court tables.

There's some nice squares that don't look to far away from Pioneer Courthouse. Has anybody ever been to the Lownsdale and Chapman squares? The look good, based off their pictures from last year. =3

me and sora were thinking, how about the waterfront park? right in front of the willamete (can't spell) river. it has ton of grass area, and seating areas, and the max is very close (about 2 blocks away) and you can easily just walk from there. i use to walk there all the time. and on saturday it should be a nice place to sit in the sun (if there is any) and we can shriek and carry our bride's (and grooms XD) across :3

Actually, the waterfront sounds like a good idea to me. Pioneer Place is only a few blocks from there as well, so we'd have someplace to go if it got too cold or rainy.

The waterfront would be a great place for us to run around, as long as it isn't raining. Plus, a lot of people know where it's at.
And like Auricle said, Pioneer Place isn't too far away. That comes in handy for food, cold, and rain issues.
