AMV Requests
« on: October 13, 2009, 03:46:23 pm »
I was listening to some music while out and about this afternoon; the store happened to have an 80's station on, and Mr. Roboto (sp) came on.  At first I remembered that one AMV by thundercatlord (Well, IMO it's an AMV); but then other thoughts crossed my mind given the current plot of One Piece. ( Warning, Massive Spoilers http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Kuma )  It looks like, depending on how things break over the next year, that he might be a good subject for an AMV matching the story of that song.

That is why the AMV I am hoping to see most next year would be Kuma (One Piece) as Mr. Roboto.

I'd like to see someone...ANYONE do AMVs for any of the two Stone Temple Pilots songs "Interstate Love Song" and "Big Bang Baby."

Stone Temple Pilots song - "Big Bang Baby."

... starring Lina Inverse, with a cameo appearance by Mahoro (final ep.)

(No personal jabs intended, but) New rule proposed for teh 21st century internet:
"There's no such thing as a 'spoiler' for a show that's more than five years old."

Mahoromatic = 2001 - 2002. So by now, whether you've seen them or not, everyone should know how shows like

Trigun
Cowboy Bebop
Noir
Chobits
Haibane Renmei
Divergence Eve
Vandread
Witch Hunter Robin

all end. Even the cliff-hangers.

Haha, *harsh*. That's a kinda "leave no prisoners" take on internet spoilers, innit? :D For me, spoilers have always been most about popularity in that Code Geass spoilers are more or less okay because most people are already familiar with them (and Death Note's shocking mid-series plot-twist has become so well known it's pretty much the new Sepheroth kills Aerith), but spoilers to say Bubblegum Crisis are significantly less okay because not as many modern internet users have seen it. Haha, but yeah, inevitably if you are on the internet you are going to get spoiled occasionally, no hard feelings. It just sorta blindsided me what with this being a thread that hadn't had anything to do with Mahoromatic prior to that xD

I feel that after something's been out long enough, then it works like watching the History channel - you're very likely to hear bits and pieces about the endings in advance anyways, so it's like going back to watch the documentary about WHY or HOW they got to that ending.**

Otherwise, you'll end up with someone who hasn't read Walter Lord's A Night To Remember ...
(Spoiler: they hit an iceberg on the way to New York...)
or Noah Andre Trudeau's Gettysburg: A Testing of Courage (Will Lee pull it off over Meade?)
Or C.S. Forrester's Sink the Bismarck! - darn, he spoiled it himself with his own TITLE.

** This can still make for great entertainment; I recently finished Trudeau's A Southern Storm which is about Wm T. Sherman's swath of destruction from Atlanta to Savannah, GA. But the author broke the journey up into chapters for each day, and presents soldiers' letters home from both sides - day by day - so even if the reader knows the general outcome, you only really get to see - quite vividly - from the scraps of writings of real people who did NOT know what was coming up tomorrow or the next day.

Great book. Funny pranks in some places, awe and shock at smoldering destruction in other places, or of gruesome orders given and carried out....

wait you mean Aerith dies?!?!

also a great song to make a bleach amv with is the song "there is a japanese woman living in my closet"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hYopwCLgy4
here are the lyrics
There's a Japanese woman that lives in my closet
Eats up all my food when she thinks I'm at the office
I came home one day to find she'd gone away
Why do you wanna hurt me?

On my way to work, I'm lost in my head
Every turn I take I hope that she's there
She lived in my closet for a year and now she's gone
How could I ever go on?

Have you gone and lost your mind?
Why'd you let her stay so long?
Now you're all alone
So alone, alone

Now my brother's holdin' back from Japan
He came on a Saturday, seemed so mad
I don't know what happened but your sun is broken

Have you gone and lost your mind?
Why'd you let her stay so long?
Now you're all alone
So alone, alone

Oh, man, my brother went to Japan
He got caught up in the culture
And he says he's never coming home
Never wants to talk to me, he never takes my call

Tell me, brother, why so cold?

Have you gone and lost your mind?
Why'd you let her stay so long?
Now you're all alone
So alone, alone

HILARIOUS!!

I read this and I was thinkin' Zetsubo Sensei for sure:
You get the hikikomori girl, and also get the creepy little stalker-student; the one who always says "Eh, zutto" ("yes, now and forever") whenever Sensei asks "You were here with me?!?"

Can some make a special effects amv using this song which is the finale from the nighttime show Disney's World of Color.

It starts at 0:00 and ends at 1:43.

If you need the video of the show's finale let me know.
