Mousey's Murder Mystery Game - Day 4, Afternoon
« on: September 10, 2009, 08:47:08 pm »
This is a game I started on another forum. It was met with great success and I'm currently hosting a second game over there right now. I decided that I might give it a shot and see if the waters are right here.

This is basically like a "Choose Your Own Adventure," book but you get a lot more then just three choices. I provide you with the scenario (I am the environment, events, fate..etc) and you provide me with a decision on what you or your role will do given that situation or event.

You don't necessarily need to know how to RP, but if you do then that's fine - makes this more fun. But please, remember to both RP and play the game so that there IS some game progression at the least.

Rules
1) The game will not be real time but there are "times" in the game. They are Dawn, Morning, Afternoon, Evening, and Night.
2) Depending on what kind of character you are, you will only be able to move during certain times:

- Open Character: Morning, Afternoon, Evening
- Secret Character: Evening, Night, Dawn

3) Points will be assigned to whoever can crack a case faster and more thoroughly then others. Get more points and you can use them to buy various things or services.
4) For conversations between two people, please pm each other and send me a summary of what you discussed. If it's a conversation between 3 or more people, it will stay in thread because "3's a crowd"

How to play:
Here is an example:

You enter the room in search of evidence. You just know that she had to have hidden it here somewhere! To your left is a wardrobe with several drawers. To your right is a vanity set with many pieces of jewelry strewn about. In front of you is the bed and to the far left corner is the door to what you guess will be the bathroom.

Where do you look first?

And then you reply: In the wardrobe/The Vanity Set/The Bed/Peek into the room you think is the bathroom.

Story:
You need a large amount of money for various reasons (depending on your role). You have received a letter from a complete and utter stranger, inviting you to come to her private island for a competition.

A large sum of money has been hidden on the island, a sum large enough to fulfill your needs and then some. If you can get your hands on the money and keep it for the 10 days that you are trapped on the island, you will win. But remember, there are at least six other people who want the money too and who knows what they will do just to get it....

Game already started. Please wait for the second round if you want to play.
If you would also like a role, please tell me too as there are only 9 roles available. Thanks! I hope you enjoy the game I want to set up.

*NOTE: Storage, Attic, and Garage are not shown but they are there!

Yes, that sounds right. But just in case I want to leave an example (because of what happened during the second round on the other forum) =x

Ex:

You enter the room in search of evidence. You just know that she had to have hidden it here somewhere! To your left is a wardrobe with several drawers. To your right is a vanity set with many pieces of jewelry strewn about. In front of you is the bed and to the far left corner is the door to what you guess will be the bathroom.

Where do you look first?

And then you reply: In the wardrobe/The Vanity Set/The Bed/Peek into the room you think is the bathroom.

Hope that it helps. xD

@ Everyone: I think we will start the game tomorrow night with a small cast. This way, the round will not only be easy to manage but also fairly quick giving lurkers a chance to play next round. =D

I would like you to choose my role, as I've never done anything like this before so I would likely be inadequate at doing so.

Updated!

I already have the roles pre-made. There are about 8 - 10 different roles.

6 roles are played Openly as in they're regular players while 2 - 4 roles are Secret and do things behind the scenes (possibly resulting in the death of 1 - 2 Open players).

I'm going to wait another 2 hours to see if we're going to get a couple more players, but for right now we have enough people to play a quick round off of. =D

Edit: Forgot to mention, I will pm you your roles (if you wanted one).

Purpletext will be game progression. I'll tell you what to do after game progression in regular text.

Day 1:

From a letter in your mail, you have all assembled at a dock a good 3 hours away from the last town you passed by. From the dock, you are put into a helicopter. Your family and/or friends who wanted to go with you are turned away as only you hold the letter, the ticket to this strange and sudden competition, in your hands. You wave goodbye as the helicopter takes you and five other people into the air.

That's the last thing you remember....till now.

One of the helicopter pilots gently shakes you awake. "We're here now. Did you guys have a good sleep?" he asks cheerfully.

" 'Guys?' " you say confused. You turn to look at the others and find them in various stages of being awoken - bright and bleary eyed to still absolutely unconscious. You were all put to sleep somehow...but as you're about to probe farther, the pilot leaves to wake up the other passengers.

You step off of the airplane and are greeted by what a lovely young woman with chestnut tresses. In one of her hands, she holds a ring of old fancy-looking keys.

"Welcome to my Island. I trust you had a wonderful nap on the ride here?"

"I don't know about you, but I never agreed to being drugged or however you did that."

"I'm sorry, I had my pilot do that for privacy reasons...I don't want you to be able to get back here in the event that you find the money."

"About that-"

"Before you begin," she interrupts raising her hand slightly. "All will be explained once we all gather tonight for dinner. Your bags look heavy, perhaps you would like some help carrying them to your room?"

"I'll be fine." you reply.

"Alright then, would you like to choose your room?"

"That sounds fine. I'll take..."

Maps of the Island (Will be posted on the front page too!) :

The Island:

The Mansion - Floor 1:

The Mansion - Floor 2:

*NOTE: Storage, Attic, and Garage are not shown but they are there!

What you do: Pick a guest room to stay in. (There are 19 Guestrooms) Pm this to me or just say it here.

Edit:

Room's # 6 and 7 are not available.

Of course you can join. =D

A bit of warning though...Secret characters don't get to post in the thread since they are trying not to be caught by Open Players. Are you sure you still want to be a Secret Character? =O

ATTN ALL PLAYERS: Forgive me for my irresponsibility, but earlier today I was in a bit of a rush so I didn't save any messages till just now. I've forgotten which roles were sent to whom but I do remember some roles I sent.

I remember the role I gave Mitsukai, xcthullux, and HardstyleZombie. I don't remember the roles I sent to anyone else.

Please pm me the title of the role I sent you. Make sure you pm me since another goal of yours is to make sure no one knows your real role. xD

This one is playing. Do we do it in a chat room or something, or here in the forum? Or via personal messages?

We do this here in the forum and also via pm's if something private (between two players) takes place. This way we can take our time and think about our actions before posting.

The best way to win this game is to think ahead of the other players, and be the craftiest and or the most cunning player.

Do we all need to be online at the same time? I will probably head to bed in an hour, maybe an hour and a half.
this is the reason we have a wonderful thing called:

Basically, ingame "times," don't have a set time irl. It all depends on the game progression.

Not everyone has to be on the forums at the same time, but if you know that you'll be on later then others and don't want to hold back the game, it's best to send me a pm about what you want to do ahead of time.

Right now, we're waiting on Lynx and Cassiopeia to choose their rooms. Once they choose their rooms I will continue.

HOWEVER, if they do not get back to us by tomorrow night, they will be kicked from the game (as will any other player who doesn't reply in a 24 hour period).

Ah..Thank you both, I think I get the "times" thing. Good to know I'll never need to commit to being on at a specific time, just to being on at least once a day. That's definitely doable.

Day 2, Afternoon -

It is now lunch time. You and the other guests are eating a delicious but simple lunch. This change in company does you good as last night, you ate dinner all alone in the strange and silent house. Your hostess seemed to have forgotten you only to remember halfway and send you and decent meal.

As lunch draws to a close, your hostess shows up.

"Now that we're all here, I thought we'd all introduce ourselves but thinking on it, I find it's easier to compete without making friends." she chuckles. "My name is Evelyn Runderfelt though. I am pleased to make your acquaintance."

"I've lived here for quite a long time and now...time has run out for me." She continued. "You see, I'm dying. My husband is dead, my only child is dead, my parents are also dead. I have no one to pass my wealth to...I have always loved competition and entertainment so I decided I would gather people who needed my wealth for that very purpose.

Some where on my property, lies my hidden wealth. Whoever can keep it at the end, wins the money! You have nine days after today to do so. In fact, that helicopter that brought you here? They're not to come back until after the nine days, err 10 including yesterday, are over. I have effectively trapped you all here on my island. Should you try to leave the island, you are disqualified and may not win the money. Also you will have a difficult time as there are many rocks and reefs surrounding my property except for one narrow path out." She laughs at the end. It's a playful laugh, like that of a child receiving a gift.

"Now, you may search on my property but there are limits. You may not search in my son's room...I cannot bear to even look in there. I'm sure you understand a mother's grief. You may not search in my bedroom, in the center of the second floor. And you may not search each other's room's - meaning Guest Rooms, 5, 6, 7, 9, 13, and 19 are off limits.

If you plan on searching the Lakehouse, Gym or Tennis courts, those are a distance off so that will probably be the only building you will be able to search for the day...

While you are searching, I'll be relaxing here in room next to us, the Lounge Room. I'll be by the bar. Stop by sometime and lets have a drink when you take a break! Good luck and happy hunting!" She says warmly and turns to go to the Lounge.

Just as she makes it to the door she stops abruptly and turns back, as if remembering something she forgot. "I forgot to mention, if you have any questions, feel free to ask. You know where to find me." She smiles.

Post the two rooms you decide to search in. The Garage, Storage room, Attic and Tennis courts are rooms I forgot to include in the maps. Also, now is a good time to ask questions but only on finding the money as logically, you don't know anything else yet. xD

I forgot to mention, you can pick up knives from the kitchen, just do it secretly (by pming me). And also, if you don't receive a pm that means you've found nothing.

You know what...you're right. It has been over 12 hours since she's said anything. I'll move on.

Day 2, Evening -

A storm hits shortly after everyone returned to the Dining Hall. The wind and rain begin to pick up strength after an hour or so. Shortly after dinner most of the guests gather for drinks in the Lounge.

"I think I better go find some candles and flashlights in case the electricity goes out. I don't like the dark," says Evelyn anxiously. She moves towards the Kitchen Pantry that she also uses as a storage for other things.

As you all wait, some of the guests talk about their search.

"All I found was this weird newspaper article but most of it was blacked out. Something about someone's kid named Julius Serozchile going into his mom's friend's custody or some stuff." Henry says disappointed.

"Why was he sent into someone else's custody? No more living relatives?"

"Pretty much, his dad went to jail. I don't know his name."

You turn back to your drink when Henry asks you how your search went.

(Post how your search went - can either be a truth or a lie. Now is also a good time to draw another Open player aside to talk to them privately, such as Henry/Me).

Remember, if you draw someone aside to talk to them you must quote the entire conversation and send it all to me.

Also, all Secret Players are now awake and on the move. (Send me a pm about what your next move is).

IF YOU NEED TO SEE A PREVIOUS DAY, I HAVE ALL THE DAYS ON THE SECOND POST!

I'll tell you what, I didn't find a single thing here worth anything. I mean don't get me wrong, it's a nice place but the pool was... Wet. And... Pool-like. I'm unsure what else there really is here. Although I am pretty hungry, that pool is pretty darn far away. Not to mention HUGE.

I went on a stroll through the garden and then unwound by the pool. There wasn't really anything to write home about at either one.

"I wonder where Sausage is...he didn't show up for dinner..." Henry remarks offhandedly. "Either way I'm going to retire for the evening. Good night, everyone."

He gets up and walks out of the Lounge, heading towards the Entry Hall, closing the doors silently behind him.

You can hear the roar of thunder growing louder outside. The wind has also picked up as well as rain. It seems more and more possible that the power might go out tonight. Another loud crash of thunder and the lights flicker twice then finally go out. Just as the lights go out, you hear the sound of something crashing down in the Entry Hall.

Minutes later, Evelyn emerges from the kitchen with a large box of flashlights and candelabra's.

"Just in time huh? It's a good thing I went earlier too! The Garage would have been terrible to navigate in the dark...there's all sorts of things I could hurt myself with if I were stumbling along in the dark." She sets everything down on a table in the Lounge. "We have three flashlights and a ton of candles, anyone want one? Also, what in the world was that crashing sound I heard earlier?"

Anyone brave enough to investigate?

Forgot to mention:

Far away from the house, but also nearby enough for anyone who knows of it to be scared, something angry and strong comes out of the water...It moves slowly...looking at the Lake House once and then continues to move to the Mansion proper as if the weather doesn't even bother it. It is driven by one thing and one thing only...vengeance!

Yes you may.

Since there are two people investigating the same thing, I will post the scenario here:

Evelyn hands you a candelabra that has three prongs. The Candles are already lit.

"It makes for good lighting AND a good weapon. The floor is marble so we don't have to worry about a fire." she says. She too has a candelabra that is lit but she hands her flashlight to Kite. "I'm ready when you guys are."

Silently and as quickly as possible, you three pad your way to the Entry Hall and open the door. Two pairs of flashlight beam across the room for any moving shadow while Evelyn takes lead and begins to shine what light her candles can bring around the area in front of you. She rushes to another candelabra in between the two staircases and lights them to help everyone see better.

Nothing unusual seems to be afoot in the room. You can't even tell if anything fell at all aside from hearing something just a couple minutes ago...

"That's just strange..." Evelyn says moving towards the Library doors. "I swear I heard a loud thud earlier. And you two also heard it too right?"

You nod.

"Perhaps, we must have heard something falling outside from the storm or something? That must be it!" Evelyn concludes. "This is just silly, I'm going to retire for this evening. But now that we're all on edge would someone mind escorting me to my room?" she asks sheepishly.

Night will fall after this event. If there's someone you wish to speak privately to, right now would be a good time since everyone will be going to bed soon.

"Thank you Sausage." she says graciously. "Goodnight everyone." Evelyn then departs for her bedroom with Sausage. Having nothing else to do, all the guests go to bed too. What will the morning bring you wonder?

Day 3, Morning -

It's still a little stormy outside. There are still many dark clouds on the horizon, threatening to revert back to the ugly mess they were last night. The wind has died down considerably and there is only light rain. It's still early so you never know, the day might get better.

Evelyn and some of the other guests are still asleep. Only you two, Garnet and Kite, are awake. Better get a head start. You don't want anyone else getting that money do you?

I forgot to update you guys on points! You will find the total amount of points you have in the second post of this thread. I will only give you points after each full day and to be fair, you can only spend them at the beginning of the day, if you're an open player or at the beginning of the evening if you are a secret player.

In the end though, if there is a tie breaker, I will add up your total points and whoever has the most points wins.

And now without further ado, here are the points:

Day 1:

1) Leroy Jenkins - 50 pts
2) Garnet/Dagger - 50 pts
3) Kite Kodama - 50 pts
4) Sausage - 50 pts
5) Victoria - 50 pts
6) Cassiopeia - 20 pts

Day 2:

1) Leroy Jenkins - 50 pts
2) Garnet/Dagger - 50 pts
3) Kite Kodama - 50 pts
4) Sausage - 10 pts
5) Victoria - 50 pts
6) Cassiopeia - 0 pts

A good way to earn points, is to do as much as possible or do something that will surprise me. I admit, I make guesses at what players will do and it pleases me when players do unexpected things.

This is also included in the second post, it's a list of things that you are able to get with your points:

50 points - Full Immunity, 100% safety for a full 12 hours
25 points - Partial Immunity, 100% safety for a full 6 hours
20 points - Second Chance, able to use two options instead of one when dueling a players
10 points - Gear Upgrades, increases damage against all NPC's (Limited upgrades and they're always successful, but they take a full time period like all morning/afternoon/evening/night/dawn.)

Since I forgot to tell you guys earlier, I will allow the purchase of any item at ANY TIME during this ingame day. (Sorry about that!)

Alright, since the others have been updated properly, now it's time to progress through the game!

THIS APPLIES ONLY TO THE PEOPLE WHO ARE LEFT IN THE MANSION PROPER!!! That means if you're not in the mansion then you will not know that this happened!

Day 3, Afternoon -

As lazy as he is, Cassiopeia's husband did wake up and did try to find the money. He nosed about the Library and briefly glanced at everything before turning back to the Lounge room to watch some TV. Mixing a quick drink and turning the TV on, he turns back to the Kitchen to find some tracks leading from the hallway where the Guest rooms are straight to the Freezer.

There is a slow and steady pounding on the door. He eyes the tracks and heads into the Pantry instead where he grabs a couple granola bars.

'Ain't no way in hell am I going to go in there! Lord knows who's there and if it's one of us that's fine too! One dead guest is one less rival!' He thinks to himself as he flings himself onto the couch facing the TV. As he begins to leaf through the channels the TC suddenly flickers then shuts off.

"What the-?! Oh you've got to be kidding me! The weather isn't that bad right now!" he says getting up. As he is about to hit the TV, he feels a presence in the room. Turning around he spots that person. His eyes widen...

"You...What are you doing here?"

"I dealt with her...and now I have to deal with you!" Shrieks a man's voice followed by a loud BANG!

Cassiopeia's husband clutches a fresh wound. As the shooter comes to finish him, he lunges at his shooter. The two tussle and two more shots reverberate through the house and then silence....

Everyone in the mansion should hear that. What will you do?

You don't know! Maybe I will kill everyone! Maybe hearing a gunshot and knowing someone likely died made something snap inside me and I will lurk in the shadows with various obscure weapons murdering each and every comrade in this game and then, in my slowly resuming sanity, realizing what I've done, I will take my own life and the treasure will never go to use! Maybe that! =D muah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!

Day 3, Evening -

Garnet stumbles into the mansion proper. She is dripping wet and more then a little worried. She calls out the names of other guests but receives no answer. Just what in the world is going on here?!

She goes into the lounge and finds not one but two dead bodies in there. One is the body of Cassiopeia's husband and the other is of a man who she doesn't know. On the TV is something creepy as well - it's a looped video of the unknown man killing Cassiopeia. Well isn't this just great? She just ran from one dead body to find another three!

And where is Kite in all of this? At the same time, Kite should be able to hear her crying out his name.

What now guys?

Kite begins to exit his room, heading towards the sound of Garnet's voice. Just as he opens his door though, he finds Garnet in front of it with an upraised arm.

She is soaking wet and is slightly mud stained.

Her first post, which was a reply to me, read:
I went to the lake house and found a trail of keys leading up to it. Inside was Sausage's dead body and it looked like someone had been living there for a few days; there were dishes and stuff. Then I found Evelyn looking for something, and she attacked me; I barely made it out alive, waiting under one of the boats until she left and swimming for the land. Then I went back to the house and found Cassie's dead husband the video of her death.

So yup! You?

Then I replied, but I haven't that message, and she replied with:

Yes, but one other thing I forgot; Evelyn has a gun. So unless there is two, she has the only one.

Now I have yet to reply to that one, so I shall on this thread, now including Victoria in the conversation.

Not to cause alarm, but we are not alone. That man I saw in the library is still here. Also, I found these. *Takes papers out of her pockets*

Quote
You take these papers and find that most of them are illegible, like someone pour ink on both sides of the paper, but it was a hurried and botched job. One paper was only partially smeared with ink - only on the back side with some words still readable. It's an article. It reads:

....... and .....!! (Title unreadable):

Court officials were surprised today when Frank Rosenkrantz went berserk and attacked his ....(unreadable)...of 10 years. The two were businessmen who often traded with each other, both owning raw material refineries.

For the last two years, it's been believed that Rosenkrantz had been secretly stealing funds from ....(unreadable).............................

...She was found in his office, dead with various body parts missing. And where was Rosenkrantz? Caught just outside of town by police who also found his deceased wife's missing arm among other things.

Custody of their son, Julius Rosenkrantz falls to his mother's sister..... Continued on page 2.

Well, he sounds suspicious *shuts the door* but right now Evelyn is our real problem. It seems she had this set up from the start. I don't doubt that there never was a treasure to begin with. That was just a ruse with a three fold benefit to her. One, to pit us against one another. Two, to give us reason enough to split up so she could pick us off more easily. And of course, to get us all here in the first place. You're a detective, you must have a gun, right?

I think its likely she holds a grudge against us. You less so, Victoria, but Garnet, might she have a grudge against you? That article *now addressing Victoria* mentioned the Rosenkrantz. Evelyn Rosenkrantz? Was that her last name? I don't recall, but I believe so.

Ah, so its not Rosenkrantz. So, tomorrow we have two options. We either look for clues as to the true identity of Evelyn and this mysterious man who is apparently sharing this house with us, or we take the offensive and make a move on Evelyn. Which will it be? And, Victoria, may I have a closer look at that badge?

So, I think we should get some rest tonight, and tomorrow investigate Evelyn's son's room, and Evelyn's room. We were told not to and all, so it will likely disqualify us from getting any treasure. Only join me if you are like me in your confidence that there is no treasure. Also, I think its important we know as much about each other as possible. I myself am the son of a high class lawyer, my mother. She is currently dealing with cancer, and things don't look good. Consequently, as a lawyer she has made quite a few enemies in her life, such as the Rosenkrantz.

I did not. I was called by her husband yesterday, he's the one who noticed she went missing. I've been looking for her since I recieved the call, I never found her, though she did leave tracks in the attic. That was the last place I found a trace.

Quote
The Attic is very dusty and has not been used in a long time. There is a thick layer of dust on the floor of the attic. Because there is a layer of dust on the floor and everything else, you see two sets of foot prints...one leads from the window in the back to the door of the attic, while the other leads to and from the Window.

Looking at the window, you find that the window has been undone and closed again since the dust on the sill has also been disturbed. Someone came from the outside (probably the roof?) of the house and got in through the window. That same person also went out of the Attic. That person could not have been Cassiopeia since she would not need to enter from the roof.

This must mean that the footsteps leading to and from the Window must be Cassiopeia's footprints! But where is she now?

Day 4, Morning -

Throughout the night, you continually wake up and fall asleep. You know that you will not be very well rested tomorrow and who can blame you - you've found at least two or three dead bodies and you now know your Hostess is out to get you. You aren't even sure if the people who say they'll work with you will really do just that. All it takes is one good moment when your back is turned. How are you so sure that they won't end up stabbing you in the back? That's it: You're not!

Finally, you can't keep yourself asleep anymore so you sit up and look around. Nothing has been disturbed since you came in last night You wonder if anything has happened at all over night, but at the same time you're too afraid to find out. You guys need some food and you also need to figure out what to do....Evelyn said that there won't be anyone coming to the island till after the 10th day you were here. Was she lying or was that the truth? Do you want to chance getting off the island or stay here and wait for help?

What will you do now?

Updated Points are on the second Post.
You can use your points to buy something from the list too! (once it hits Afternoon ingame, you can't get anything till the next ingame Morning)

I am waiting to hear back from Mousey as to whether or not there was a car in the garage when I was there. If there was, I propose we split up this morning. You two head to the garage, I will head to the kitchen and grab us some food. And we can meet up at Evelyn's room.

Nevermind. Things didn't work out as planned, so, as we're now awake, I propose we all make a trip to the kitchen and then to Evelyn's room...Or, if you prefer, her son's room.

Sorry, I have been a bit busy this week. =(

Heading to the kitchen, you find muddy track marks leading from the doorway into the Dining room and then the kitchen. The foot prints are too big to be Evelyns...could it be that someone else is now here too?

Once in the kitchen, you find yet another dead body....it's the body of one of the guests - the one who always seemed to be a little too much into his drink and his gambling.

Looking past the body, you notice that the muddy tracks lead to the Freezer and back.

What do you guys do? =O

I say the one with the gun check out the freezer, I'll take my pesticide to the pantry and load up on food. Garnet, grab you and I a couple of knives, but don't wander too far or anything, we should try to be able to help each other if need be.

His chest is riddled with stab wounds which makes no sense as his neck has been wrung so badly that the skin is still pink. Looking at his neck, you know that whoever did it had to have large hands - larger then Evelyn's. But why are there stab wounds on his chest?

Thinking on it, you also wonder where Henry is too. You'd think that by now he'd have noticed all these dead bodies since no one has touched them or removed them from the house. Should someone bury them for now?

Henry is one of the guests. You met him on the second day when he asked everyone how they did on their search.

Victoria enters the freezer to find the lights are on inside. There is no one in there, but apparently someone had, at one point, crawled into the Freezer and huddled in the corner. You know this because the tracks lead to and from that one corner. But who in their right mind would hide in a Freezer where they could die due to exposure? That's just absurd.

Looking back outside, the tracks cross over the gambling addict's body and then leads out to the Lounge and from there, you don't know.

Do you want to leave the others and follow the tracks or help fortify yourselves in a room first?

I do agree, but have a second proposal. The two of you follow the tracks (assuming it leads to a killer you'll likely want two there) and I will go to the son's room (as opposed to Evelyn's, because its unlikely anyone else will be there, and aside from pesticide I'm currently unarmed) Also, I'd like to grab a knife and, if there is one in the kitchen, a silver platter or metallic plate of some sort.

But three have a better chance against someone who is strong enough to leave such a mark on someone's neck.

Also, if you do go upstairs to check out the Son's Room, you might as well check on Henry too, since his room is Guest Room No. 19 which is just across the hallway. The more people you guys can get to help out, would make things more safe for you don't you think?

I want to see what Garnet will want to do before we actually do anything. xD

Wait a second....I just had a good idea for you guys. Instead of separating right now, wouldn't it be safer or wiser to just focus on gathering food right now and then afterward go and investigate the tracks, Evelyn's/Evelyn's Son's Room or gathering weapons later? This way whoever is left would be safe if the murderer or murderers are still roaming around.

I just wanted to put that out there before any final decision was made.

Reluctantly I shall indeed join you guys to follow the tracks. But I say will kill, or at least incapacitate, anyone we find. At this point I assume anyone who is not in our entourage is a murderer, or in cahoots with the murderer. (I love having a reason to use the word "cahoots"!!!) =D

Alrighty then.

Day 4, Afternoon -

The morning passed by quickly. You three have gathered enough nonperishable items to last till the 10th day and no longer need to worry about that part of your survival. Now, onto more dangerous things....like hunting down a murderer! Or murderers for that matter.

After a quick lunch and a gathering of weapons and other supplies outside of food, you three are ready to look for the person who made the muddy tracks in the kitchen - the same person who killed the Gambling Addict. First, you all check out where the tracks came from in the first place, the door nearest the Dining Hall and at the end of the Hallway to the downstairs Guestrooms. From there, the tracks lead into the Dining Room, then the Kitchen, then the Freezer, back out to the first two rooms (Kitchen and Dining Room), and now you stand in the Lounge.

The bodies are still in the Lounge and you find that someone has turned off the loop of how Cassiopeia died. Ignoring that and turning back to the problem at hand, you follow the tracks out of the Lounge and through the Entrance Hall. From there through the Library's first floor to the second Floor where you find large muddy shoes that are DEFINITELY too big to fit Evelyn's dainty feet.

Fortunately there are still muddy tracks from ragged and dirty clothes. You follow these tracks to Room No. 19, Henry's Room....

The door is slightly ajar and a foul smell comes from the room. You can't tell if the smell is of a person who hasn't bathed in days or of a rotting body.

What's the plan guys?

Quickly, Victoria pushes the door open when her gun at the ready. Following swiftly behind her, Kite and Garnet come in baring their knives.

The first thing they see is a decomposing body and then motion from the far side of the room from - a large man getting up from his sleep. He is filthy, mud stains his pants up past his knees, he is shoeless and more importantly you recognize that his clothes are that of a convict from a nearby asylum for the criminally insane.

He doesn't make a move...he slowly looks at all three of you, one face at a time. When he spots Kite a fire lights up in his eyes. His face goes from catatonic to extreme rage bordering on going berserk.

"YOU!!! YOUR MOTHER!!! I WILL KILL THAT BITCH...AFTER I'M DONE...WITH YOU!!!" He shouts then lunges at Kite. "AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"

You have a split second to act! What do you do?

I raise my knife to the readiness. But, if Victoria keeps him from me with those shots then I won't need to stab him...If he falls to the floor I'm going to go step on his newly acquired bullet wounds and have a good little giggle as I watch him writhe in pain! Victoria, you can question him. (still assuming your shots halted my attacker, otherwise this is all moot). And if any words come out of his mouth other than a straight forward answer I'm gonna shove my finger into one of his bullet holes.

Victoria shoots him but to (all) your astonishment, he keeps charging. Victoria fires three shots at his legs which stop him. His face is now a mask of fury and pain. If the bullets won't kill him soon, the fact that he was exposed to bad weather will. The man still isn't dry and he looks like he is freezing.

Reacting quickly, Kite and Garnet run off to find something to tie him up with. He wriggles around on the ground weakly, spilling his blood everywhere.

"I'm going to kill him!" he mutters. "That bitch is going to pay for sending me there! I'll take her son!" he continues completely unaware of anyone but himself in the room. When Kite and Garnet return, he doesn't even seem to realize that they even left, much less are back now. This man is truly deranged...

What now?

I'll hand Garnet any rope I have, step on one of his wounds and hold the tip of my knife firmly against his throat while she ties him, so if he even tries to move my knife can stab him right in the throat.

We can try to question him, but this deranged psycho probably doesn't know much about Evelyn. If they were working together I think she would have offered him a shower or something. Although, it is curious how he would have known how to find any of us out here. I say after we tie him up we quickly question him, but if he doesn't shine any light on our current mystery it would be best just to kill him. If we leave him here alive he could possibly escape or, if he is in fact somehow in cahoots with Evelyn, be let go. But bringing him with us would be quite the hassle, as well as a threat.

Do you know when she'll get back? If it will be relatively soon I'm cool with waiting, but if it will be awhile I think we should progress at least a little bit. I'm eager to investigate our hostess's rooms =D

I don't see any harm in letting you guys interrogate the insane man while she is gone. Other then that though, I think we should wait until she is able to post again.

The insane man looks at you with glassy eyes. After a second thought, his demeanor changes back to that of a man so angry, he could be berserk. Kite backs away from the insane man as the man jerks violently back and forth to get at him.

"I got out from that place!" he shouts. You assume he means the asylum he was kept at from the name on his uniform. "I knew from him that you would be here! Just you wait you little ****, I'm going to get you! And then your mother too!" he shouts.

Apparently, the insane man knows who your mother is, Kite....

Kite, you should go stand somewhere he can't see you, but within hearing distance, maybe he'll be calmer if I interigate him.

(My questionssss~)
Why are you after them?
Why were you put in the asylum?
Do you know Evelyn? How?
Why target us here?
How did 'he' know Kite would be here?
You didn't arrive here with us, how did you get here?
I miss 2010.

I'm sorry but you'll have to wait till Round 2 starts. I'll reserve a spot for you if it helps. xD

The insane man only answers some of your questions...

"I hate her....she ruined it all. She got me put into there and stopped me from having my fun...." he says in a strange, heavy voice. His eyes are glassy and blank, staring at nothing. "Is killing so wrong? And then he came....he said her kid, Kite would be here and that I could kill again....So I followed him here and he let me have my fun hahahahaha!!!" Afterward, the insane man falls silent and stops moving. He just lays there, bleeding on the floor.

You can't tell if he's dead or not but you do know that he doesn't have much longer until then.

Now what? Remember that there is a dead body on the bed too. Also, I have a hint if you'd like it, DemonSpawn. xD

I am happy to give one! =D

If the insane man knows Kite's mother and about Kite's existence (but not Kite personally) then where does the problem lie when it comes to the insane man, Kite's mother, and Kite?

If that doesn't make sense then try thinking about it like this: The insane man knows Kite's mother....who is she?

Kite should be able to answer some of the questions. kekeke!!!

"His mom is a bitch! She's the one who put me in there with the other weaklings!" he yells and then falls silent. It doesn't seem as if you will be able to get anymore out of him. He just lies there still and silent as if already dead. He is again, unaware of his surroundings.

(Also, all will be explained at the end of the game just in case some things don't make any sense).

Well, since he was brought here by some man I think its unlikely he knows Evelyn. It doesn't seem like he even knows what he knows. That is, he knows something, but can't think coherently enough to tell us what we want to know. I still consider killing him to be an option on the table.

I think it's been a sufficient amount of time. We should continue on without Garnet to be fair to anyone else who wants to play.

Now that the Insane Man is unresponsive, you look around the room. There is still the dead body on the bed. Coming closer you recognize the man, it's Henry.

Just looking at his body, you can't see any puncture wounds. But then again, his body is partially obscured by his bedsheets, as if someone had haphazardly strewn them across his body after killing him.

Investigate the body? Or leave?

I say investigate the body. We haven't time today to search another room anyway, so we may as well get as much out of this room as possible.

One of you takes the covers off of his body. While Henry looks relatively normal, you notice that his body seems to lay in a strange way - as if he was strewn there without much care. One of his legs is bent all the way up with his foot underneath him. It's apparent that he was not killed while he was in bed - he doesn't even have his night clothes on.

His arm is also bent at an angle that suggest that it was broken completely - everything below the elbow is bent underneath him.

With all his broken limbs, it just couldn't be possible that the murderer snapped them all. But how can someone snap all of someone's limbs without anyone knowing? Much more how could someone have a strong enough force to snap all of his limbs at once?

What can you guys conclude? Whoever figures it out (close enough) gets a additional prize! You will get an upgraded piece of armor which will protect against all daggers and blunt weapons, but not guns.

My first thought is a trash compactor. But it certainly requires further investigation. Surely we will find some sort of tool on the island that could be used for such.

I suppose its also possible he fell (or was more likely thrown) from a great height. Perhaps a balcony. We need to search Evelyn's room. Aside from providing other valuable information I suspect he could have been thrown from her balcony. At least, a balcony. We should look for signs of a struggle. Is the insane guy dead yet? If not, I'm gonna go ahead and slice his throat. And maybe...carve Evelyn's initials into his chest. Wait, but in the other order. If he's not already dead, that is. The smell of dead body might be messing with my brain a little ;) hehe.

Why didn't I cast you as the bad guy? You would have made an awesome villain!

Anyways, back to the game. The Insane Man isn't dead yet, he's just catatonic again. As for what to do with him, I think we should wait till Victoria and Garnet say what they want to do with the Insane Man.

Also, as far as you know, there are only four places on the island where someone could be tossed from a high height. There is the Lakehouse (you can be thrown from the top of the building though it's only two stories and not that big), the Balcony overlooking the Entrance Hall, the wrap around porch, and the second floor of the Library.

Such tough choices. This place is our second place today, so whatever we decide to investigate will likely have to wait until tomorrow. I see there as being two options. Evelyn and her son's room, or two of the four places he could have been thrown from. I personally think we will get more information if we pursue Evelyn, but there are bonus points if we figure this out. I will go where Victoria and Garnet go, but my intentions towards the catatonic loony toon remain the same.

lol. Fine fine, I trust you. I'll save him for later ;) But, at least shove a bed or dresser in front of the closet just in case...Oh, we should lock him in the closet of Room 1 if we get the chance. I have the key, and I believe Evelyn dropped it, which makes it likely she wouldn't be able to come to his aid, if she is connected to him, which doesn't entirely seem likely as he mentioned a man having brought him, but still possible that she is connected to said man.

Not sure... For now lets just leave her as she's following you guys. If something should happen, it means it's now a toss up between you, Kite and Zombie.

btw Kite gets the prize since he got closest to how Henry was really murdered. xD

After trapping the Insane Man in the closet of Room No. 1, you all march back upstairs to Evelyn's room. You find that the room is unlocked and slightly ajar, but after carefully entering it, you find the room is not occupied.

Looking around, you see a queen sized bed with drawers on it's bottom in the left hand corner, a wardrobe next to that, in the middle of the wall to your right is an office desk with a laptop on it. There is a door next to the table leading to her bathroom.

Where do you guys look first?

I'd like to start with her laptop, checking any history and bookmarks. Wait, Victoria, you're a detective...Are you any good with computer stuff? Like better than me? Whichever is more suited to the task should search the computer, the other the bathroom, and Garnet should check the drawers and wardrobe...Unless you guys think we should go into the bathroom together in case someone is in there?

There is no one in the bathroom. In fact, the more you look through the drawers and cabinets, you find that there really is nothing there. Not even clothes...

Not finding anything of interest, you turn your attention to the laptop. Instead of loading the regular desktop interface, the laptop loads a black screen with a green text prompting a password.

Any guesses?

Well, perhaps, if there isn't anymore searching to be done here, we should just take the laptop to her son's room. We can likely find evidence of his name there, and while its not certain her password is pertaining to that, it seems like a reasonable possibility.

When in front of the door to her Son's room, you first try to open it only to find that it's locked. Since there is nothing to stop you guys from breaking in, you do so by unscrewing the door hinges.

Once inside, you find a room much like all the others except that the childrens clothing that you find in the closet are a bit outdated. It strikes you as odd, but you continue on anyways. Another thing that strikes you as odd is the fact that the room is actually well kept - someone has been cleaning it regularly despite the fact that Evelyn let on that she doesn't go in there often...

To the upper left corner is the bed, next to it is a wardrobe with six drawers, and in front of you is another empty desk. There are some old toys scattered on the ground, as if someone was here recently looking for something in the empty toy box next to the wardrobe.

Be careful where you walk, there are a lot of toys on the ground and you don't want to trip and fall.

Kite finds nothing in the wardrobe.

When searching the toy box, however, Victoria finds that the wood is split in the back of the chest. Prying at the slightly open part of the split, she finds some papers held in between the wooden pieces. The papers are painted black in some places, as if someone tried to blot out whatever was written on the paper itself...

Doesn't that look familiar, Victoria?

Just like the papers from the Library, some parts are blotted out with ink. The papers you find here though, tell you what happened to Frank Rosenkrantz after he went to jail. Apparently he suicide and his son, Julius, disappeared. You also find an article about how a man named Serozchile had bought a piece of the Rosenkrantz property but got shafted by none other then Cassiopeia and her husband.

Could it be that Cassiopeia and her husband where the very same business partners that worked with Rosenkrantz? And what about the insane man's claim that another man had brought him here?

What can you conclude? What now?

You enter the word "Rosenkrantz," but it doesn't work.

Try again? =(

The screen goes blank. From off in the distance, you can hear the sound of something large and heavy moving. As if someone is opening the door to a large bunker.

What now?

It's getting close to evening. The shadows are growing longer but at least the electricity is up and running.

You head towards where you hear the grating sound and discover that it is Evelyn's room once again. Upon entering the room, you turn on the lights and find that the wall adjacent to the desk you found the laptop at is missing. It's the entrance to a dimly lit room...

Carefully looking inside, you face three walls of long wooden tables, all one piece. In front of you is what seems to be a control panel and on top of that are a myriad of screens. The table on the left include a small mini-fridge and a bulletin board hangs above the table. Finally, the table on the right holds two books.

What do you do specifically? (as in, what do you investigate first if you investigate at all?)

Alright, Double Post, I know but it's better this way - so you know it's game progression.

On the Bulletin Board:

On the bulletin board you find the two articles you did before and a set of pictures pinned down near the bottom, some of which have been torn off viciously. Looking closer you see that the pictures are all of the guests here....Kite, The Gambling Addict, Garnet, Sausage, Henry, Cassiopeia and her husband. The pictures that are torn up are that of Sausage, The Gambling addict, Henry, Cassiopeia and her husband. It looks like Evelyn's been crossing off the ones who are dead.

The Books:

Both books are journals, one by Frank Rosenkrantz and one by Julius Serozchile.

The one by Frank Rosenkrantz talks about his life, how he has begun to suspect foul play from one of his employees but doesn't know how to prove it.

Another entry speaks of Cassiopeia, his mistress. She wants him to leave his wife, Sarah, but he refuses to do that because he loves Sarah more. Cassiopeia didn't look to happy to hear that and besides it's better this way. It'd be bad if her husband found out about them....but it'd be far worse if he not only knew but watched his wife leave him for his business partner.

The other journal, the one by Julius, goes into detail why he chose the new last name of Serozchile. It's a combination between "Sarah's child," and Frank Rosenkrantz with all the letter rearranged. Serozchile is Frank's son, the one who went missing.

He would never forgive Judge Ronald Brown for sentencing his father.
He would never forgive the oppositions' lawyer.

But most of all he would never forgive Cassiopeia and her husband for what they did to his family. It's because of Cassie that he lost his mother - she had hired an assassin to kill her in the hopes that Rosenkrantz would turn to her after Sarah was gone.

He blames her husband for taking his father away from him, because he found out that Cassie's husband had someone else send his money to the killer to cut off Sarah's arm and various body parts, then put them into Rosenkrantz's car, framing him for the murder of his wife. Proof? He found, interrogated his mother's killer. In fact he even kept her pretty little head in the fridge over there and soon would have the other guests heads.

Hint: Only two of you should know how this is all wrapped up now.

I don't think I am one of those two, in that I don't see at all how Evelyn fits into all of this.

You are one of the two. Read your role description then you'll see.

Also, you guys haven't looked at EVERYTHING in the room just yet.

Just in case: If you need me to resend your roles, I can.

On the Screens:
There are many screens, all of them focus on every single room in the house. This must be how Evelyn got Cassiopeia's death on tape...This worries you as now she knows where you are at all times...

In the Fridge:
Upon opening the Fridge, you are faced with a tube large enough to fit a human head in. In fact that's what it holds in it. Through the clear liquid you see none other then Evelyn's pretty face. Her eyes are closed. If she's dead then who is the person trying to kill you?

btw I won't be back till Monday. Busy weekend. xD

It is my suspicion that the one behind this is Julius. He seems to bear a grudge against every individual here for some reason or another. I cannot gather yet what relation he is to the insane man, unless that man was simply used as a tool, a means to an end. Nor can I gather what relation he is to Evelyn, although whatever partnership they may or may not have had does seem to be dissolved at the moment.

Frank Rosenkrantz is dead, remember? Look at this part in the bold.

He blames her husband for taking his father away from him, because he found out that Cassie's husband had someone else send his money to the killer to cut off Sarah's arm and various body parts, then put them into Rosenkrantz's car, framing him for the murder of his wife. Well now you guys know how Evelyn is tied up in all of this. Either way, Kite pretty much got everything first so that's at least 20 points for him. xD

What do you guys plan on doing now that you know all of this information? Still going with the Barricade yourselves in Room No. 1 plan or something else?

I'm kicking Garnet from the game since she hasn't posted for a long time.

Anyways, since we're so close to the end of the game, lets go hunt Evelyn. You know that she can watch you but she doesn't exactly know that you guys have invaded her room.

Why not lay in wait for her overnight?

I would hear your recommendation. I am ready to complete this game...and get a little bit of blood on my hands!! My mother will be avenged! Wait, is she even dead or just dying? If I have to, I will kill her, and then blame Evelyn for driving me to it, and in that sense justify my murdering her brutally as avenging my mother! :D

I like that plan. We should put something on the door knob. Like a soda can or a candle or something. So when she opens it it will fall and make noise and wake us up. Victoria, have your gun read, tonight we finish this!
