2. Cheap hotel rooms (I think 79 or 89 a night with the con code...not so sure though)

3. Cozy but not small

4. Nekopan is coming

5. I will be there to harrass people with my camera!

Don't have a job (Or can't really get one -____- stupid econ)
And both my parents lost their jobs because of the econ too
It's hard enough saving up for Kumoricon, I spend all year doing it, K-con is the only time I buy new manga too cause it's all alot cheaper.

I believe if that storm had not come about we would have had more vendors and maybe a bigger turnout.

Whoever was there must have remembered when it started snowing HARD the last night of the con! Wasn't that fun realizing we may never get out of that hotel!? Man that was good times at 2 AM

I remember taking stuff back to my house after con, i took a wrong turn and ended up on SR14 just as the slush started to pick up. I'm being a smart person and driving slow, someone flys by me at 70+ and blankets my entire car in massively wet snow. also, when i pulled into my driveway and backed out later it made a heart pattern in the snow, it was kawaii

I hear that MEWcon is The Bee's Knees--- Mr. Silmero & I partied hard last year and made lots of new friends.

I also talked to Spike Spencer A LOT, and he's pretty much one of the coolest guys on earth.

I don't know for sure that I'll be able to attend for the whole con this year, but I'm definitely going for at least one day.

Personally I thought Mewcon was extremely boring last year. =/ There was nothing to do, and the price for the badge was ridiculous for how small it was. I think I might give it another chance, though. I won't be purchasing a badge, I'll probably just show up for the day and hang out.

Yes, the con was incredibly small. Yes, there wasn't a lot to do. But it was its first year. There's a lot of kinks to work out. Personally, I felt like MEWcon needed to be advertised more, but I see that being done with even the bookmarks at Kumoricon. I was pleasantly surprised to see the bookmarks in the bag.

Even if its a small con, we need people to go! If people don't, then it'll just be small.

At the very least bring your DS and we can Pictochat from across the room. I really want to Pictochat with people at cons. I think it'd be fun.

It probably will, or it will die. the one down side to cons is they always need more attendees to run, but there are a great deal of people who don't like crowded scenes. some people however, like massive cons.

Akicon was in it's first year last year, and it was a blast. I did almost all there was to do at Mewcon last year, but my fun lies in talking and meeting new people. Most of the people I already knew there, and I had already talked to most of them. Although, I will admit, the Harry Potter panel was pretty fun. X3

I actually enjoyed it for its first year. Smallness is good for Mewcon, and if it does stay small, it will be refreshing from large conventions that come before and after it. (Like k-con and sakura-con and AX) I will definitely be going

Yeah it was quite small but I will admit I made more compadres there then at any other con, had a room party (I mean...room gathering...) for new years after The Slants concert- met Hentai Cupcake there and a good time was had by all. Hope it is just as good this year, even if it is smallish

This year I plan to start small and work my way up, by debuting my Dragon Ball hunt and foam sword forge n' fight panel. If everything goes right I can also release my Super Rock (-paper-scissors) card game for the fans to play.

Yeah, the Slants were almost about to perform under office-grade flourescent lights last year. I think this is a very good move.

Yes I must admit I had alot more interaction with people last year at MEW as there was a bit more downtime and more people you can just talk face to face with. Plus lets face it- the colder weather keeps people inside and you can just in the lobby and talk.

Plus if you debut a shoddily made cosplay (*whistles*) to see how it goes over there is no better place to do it then at a small con.

I hardly met anyone at MEW last year. I think it's because I literally DID NOT LEAVE THE GAME ROOM AT ALL. I left a few times to use the restroom, once when I randomly got a bloody nose, a few times during setup and teardown...basically, I lived in that room for 3 days.

Does seem odd they have her as a guest still. Wouldn’t she not be going now, so she can focus on her case? Especially if not guilty.

But you’re innocent until proven guilty, so I understand why they wouldn't want it talked about in the forums right now. That first article you posted was all the prosecuting side of the story, none of her defense side was mentioned. they could have not read the second link after reading the first. And... in your post you have "I know a person is innocent until proven guilty... but " that part there can be taken as inciting rumor by some people.

As I said in my PM to you on the M.E.W.con forums, you were you were asked not to discuss this topic further until M.E.W.con has decided what we are going to do regarding this situation. As I am sure you are aware, she is still planned as a guest for the con however, we are discussing this situation internally. The media tends to takes stories and run with them without doing any research into facts. This leads to a great deal of problems for every one. If you read through her blog she says "When convention chairs panic they could pull Yaoi Press from their shows". We are not going to be one of the conventions that panics and pulls a guest before all of the information has been presented.
