Hey, at least you didn't run across the DBZ Yaoi....*twitches*

But yeah...since there was yaoi at the last one...(and somehow they're still insisting that the con was only pg-13), then I guess yaoi is within the limit (thank god!)

Technically, the convention as a whole is PG, and there are certain parts that are PG-13.  And the Yaoi, well, that was never official.

I am new to Kumoricon as well.  Still trying to decide if I want to shell out the $$$.$$ for a room at the double tree... the lazy draw of a room on site is soooo appealing, but the price is not =P This is the con's second year in portland isn't it?  If so, do thoughs of you who went last year think it's worth it to stay on site?

Personally, yes.  You can stay there as long as you want without having to commute anywhere, you can get there early, and you can drop off your stuff in the room when it's too much so you don't have to carry it with you all the time.
Looking at your location, I couldn't imagine driving back and forth from Eugene to Portland for three days.  Think, that's about four hours out of the day just driving.

So much of a convention is the community that's around in between and after the events.  You'll have tons more fun staying at the convention than finding crash space off-site.
Plus, you're right next to the Lloyd Center Mall, right near the MAX , and there's a big park across the street, you'll be able to explore the city and make it back for an event you're interested in.

*nods* well, I was thinking of just staying at a cheaper place in portland.  I had forgoten about the max being rite there though ... that further increases the lazy appeal :)

The best part is when some of the people act like it's nothing out of the ordinary.  ^_^
