People think we're crazy for dressing up any other time than Halloween, than why not cosplay on Halloween?!

Fright Town is a series of haunted houses in Portland. A few people and myself thought it would be fun to go to this in cosplay! It wouldn't be bad, since I've gone there in costume before, and they didn't say anything. We can even have a mini photo shoot right outside beforehand.

Halloween versions of characters is very encouraged, but not required, and nor is cosplaying.

Tickets are $20 for all three full haunted houses. And you can print this coupon out to save $5: http://www.frighttown.com/coupon.html
You can also pick them up at some places like the Spirit Halloween superstore, and Dairy Queen. I will be bringing extras if you need one. Just look for the girl with long green hair and pink and purple stripes.
And if we get 25 or more people, we can also get a discount there.

Who: Anybody who's up to the challenge!
What: Attending the Haunted attraction FrightTown
Where: Rose Quarter Coliseum (has a MAX stop there)
When: October 30th, meet @ 6 for pictures, FrightTown @ whenever you want
Why: Because that's what's Halloween is for!

And also, my girlfriend (Kistiene) is planning to hold a cosplay/costume chess for those of us who are staying outside and have nothing better to do. So please, if you are interested, go sign up in her forum! We still need Pawns!!!!!!!

And a quick note...Please do not bring weapon-like props! They will not allow you in, and large props will just get in the way in the houses. So, if you plan to bring a prop for the photoshoot, please either make sure it can fit in a bag or don't plan to go through the houses. Those of us who won't be going through the house and will be hanging out, may be willing to watch your stuff. But please just be smart. Thank you.

Wondering...What do you people think about the times?
Meeting at the Rose Quarter around 6 to take pictures and then heading down there between 7 and 8?

I'm just trying to not have people out so late, so younger people can come and not have to worry about riding the MAX in down town portland late at night...

And we could possiblly take some more pictures when we're done, if it's not too late, when it's darker.

I (and two other friends of mine who are also K-con attendees) volunteer at Frighttown as a monster. If you guys showed up any Friday or Saturday while it's open, I'll be there, probably in Elshoff Manor. I'd cosplay with you guys, but I get there at 4pm and spend the time until opening getting assigned to a spot, made-up, and costume'd.

Oh! And on that note, NO WEAPONS!!! They might not let you in if you have weapon-like props. So, if you plan to bring any props, make sure it can go into a bag or something.

If people would like, we could have a sepreate group that stays outside, so people who'd like to come to hang/photo shooting could and wouldn't have to worry about being alone. And people who are going in, could take brakes between the three "houses" to hang with them, and maybe do shifts...?

I'd be willing to do this. I get scared very easily, and sometimes have panic attacks...So, I might end up just not going through the houses and just hanging around in the area with others who don't want to go in.

Taking turns standing outside, if there's a group that doesn't want to go in, sounds like a good idea. It's all about having fun with friends anyway!

Exactly! There's a large open area that's also inside that we could hang out in. You only have to pay if you're actually going into the houses, so those who don't wouldn't need to!

I'm actually gonna have to debate with myself...Last two years I went and got too scared to even go through all of them, and so sorta wasted my money.......I think if there's a large number of people who don't want to go, I'll just hang outside with them. And by "large" i mean like 5 or more people...

And I'd like to make sure I have at least a couple of your phone numbers, in case the "outsiders" decided that they/we want to go up and take some pictures or something...Just so those who are in the house don't get lost trying to look for us...And we'll just do this when we meet there.
