RULES
- Please check this thread every day for news! You don't have to post daily (unless we are voting on something and need your opinion ASAP!) but at least try to read all the posts and catch up. Warning though, the thread may move fast at the beginning as we sort out our stuff.
- Please make sure you WILL be attending Kumoricon. The convention is the only time we will get together, so if you are not CERTAIN you will be there, please do not join.
- Please be willing to cosplay a character you may not like! Though this may not apply because our group is so small, we may decide to do the main characters in a series or something, so we may assign characters for the sake of getting all the characters covered. That being said, we will still try our best to cosplay characters that we want, so don't worry, we will work it out~

Are there any series you've been wanting to cosplay from? I'm pretty much open to anything haha, and if it's a series I don't know about I try to watch/read/play it to get a feel for it :3

I'm thinking of starting an all-Asian cosplay group. I'm not trying to be racist or anything (I'm currently running a cosplay group that had really open membership), I'm considering running an Asian cosplay group because I absolutely admire East Asian cosplayers and thought it might be cool to have something like that here (the image of Asian racial similarity in cosplay) to appear at Kumoricon.

Any other Asian cosplayers here and would you be interested? Thanks! :3

Also offtopic but, despite my Asianness, I am currently eating a cup noodle with a spoon at work orz *forgot to bring chopsticks or even a fork from home*

Personally, I find this post very offensive and slightly racist. To me, it sounds like you're saying that asians are better than everyone else. I'm sure there are some cosplays that look better on asians, but other people can be good cosplayers too. In fact, some cosplays don't look good on asians at all. You should remember that not everyone is "lucky" enough to be asian, and I can guarantee that there are people other than myself who, because of this post, feel like they aren't as good as you, when I'm sure some/many of them are just as good, if not better. Just keep that in mind.

Really, I don't think that's what she intended at all. iluvshijimi is a really nice person, and she openly stated that she is not trying to be racist. I know that what I'm saying probably won't make you feel any better, but I'm sure nobody was suggesting that the Asian population is any better then the American, African-American, or any other population. Try not to get offended before you actually understand peoples intentions. ^^;;
Oh, also, I'm not trying to be mean by saying any of this, but I don't want people misunderstanding anything..

I think its a unique tribute to where the fandom originated from. Anyone who is exclusive toward a race in one instance sounds racist, regardles of your intentions.

called New Days Dawning and we are a variation
of cosplayers. Asian and Caucasian. And she's

Could you please tell me what part of what I said sounded offensive to you? Since you quoted my paragraph along with your reply, you should know that I did not state at all that Asians are better at cosplaying than everyone else. I said I admire East Asian cosplayers...that's all. If you really think about it, not all East Asian cosplayers are good either, so your statement isn't true.

Also, there are very amazing cosplayers all around the world, all of whom I admire, whether they are Asian or not. I would love to see an all-African American cosplay group, or an all-Hispanic group, etc~ I'm just trying to meet some Asian cosplayers to befriend lol, no harm intended.

My life's been pretty okay, apart from school and work I spend a lot of time at home doing nothing...mostly playing video games haha, but I actually hung out with a friend yesterday! *has no friends nearby orz* We had nummy sushi at Mika Sushi downtown, with a 10% discount 'cuz it's her mom's friend's restaurant xD, and then I came home to my dad and brothers who just got back from Fresno, CA :3

lol. i just wish i could do the contact thing, its just i need prescription, and my right eye has an astigmatism, so that would build up the price. XD my job is different, just a summer job for the national parks. it has alot of things todo, but i get paid to go rafting, camping, candy parties, shopping, but those are the easy things....the rest is a pain. but i got dark, so i'm gonna try to stay out of the sun for a while(dont' want to be to dark for yuna). we had to go down rapids, and we kept hitting rocks and geting stuck, suprised we didnt tip lol. hmm this is gonna be awesome, other than that, my yuna will be almost PERFECT....perfectionist here lol. so sore tho, rafting for 2 hours is hard, especially racing 6 other boats, lol.

Ahhh, last time I tried to dye my hair a light brown, my mom kept saying, "Oh, just a little longer, then wash it out" and then my hair turned nasty orange, haha xD
