The dance is a little more than a week away, but there is still time to pre-register (you have until July 14th).  Just a reminder, everyone who pre-registers will be entered in a drawing for door prizes.

For those who haven't seen the announcement on the website, the dance will feature tracks from the Slants upcoming album Slants! Slants! Revolution.

Hope to see you there :)

I may end up going to this as Cloud. If one of my friends gets Tifa done in time then that is the plan.

Ogee...

I just have a school ID from last year with my grade on it (9th), would that not work? ._. I also have my Kcon minor badge from '07 to verify my age, which has my full name on it.

Hey Jaki, is this the same place the swing dance was held?
Cause I'm looking at the address and the name is the same but the address is different as well as the google map.

Where are you looking at? It looks like the address is correct on the calendar and on the main event page. In the Google Maps link, you can even go to street view and see the "Norse Hall" sign above the building doors.

The one in Milwaukie is called Milwaukie Community Club (or Milwaukie Community Club Center, or Milwaukie Community Center):

Winter Ball main page

Winter Ball calendar entry (with Google Maps link)

http://www.milwaukiecommunityclub.org/

Go to the street view, and although the sign is blurred in street view, you can see it matches the legible sign in the photo on the official site. :)

If we cosplay, do we still have to wear "casual dress," even if our costume contains otherwise? My cosplay has a striped t-shirt, and a collared outer-shirt.

Also, could someone explain the term "casual dress" to me? English phrases tend to escape my vocabulary. I've asked people, but they just said, "casual, but nice."

Casual dress means you don't have to wear fancy or formal, just nice, normal clothes.  We aer just asking for people to dress a little nicer than ripped jeans and flip flops.  Your T-shirt will be fine, as it is part of your cosplay. :)

And my stupid Axel wig isn't here yet, so I don't know who I'd cosplay as.

Words cannot express how excited I am for this. 83 Got my Shadow boots all fixed up and ready to go!

I have a friend who's going that doesn't have a costume. Would it be better for her to wear just a black shirt and pants, or a red dress? I saw quite a few people in formal attire at the winter ball, but am unsure what to tell her.

There is usually a range in what people wear.. some will be more casual, while some go more formal.  It's best to wear what is the most comfortable :)

Heya all,

We are all heading out to the site to get things set up.  So, if anyone has any last minute questions please send them to the ddk email address on the information page.  Those emails will go to my phone and I will be checking at least every hour.  But, from here on out, none of us organizers will be on the forums.

I hope to see you all there!  I am so excited for this :)

(Also, Norse Hall has AC and my place doesn't ... I am going to be getting myself over there ASAP.)

Been back for a bit, rather exhausted now, but it was soo worth it in the end. <3 I had a great time seeing a bunch of old friends and all(and thanks Roy, for willing to dance with me until my friend dragged me off to go home X3). Can't wait for some other fun event or Kumori itself~ If only there were more dances, though. Only two a year is kinda sad. Doesn't feel like enough but so much at the same time.
Anywho~! Can't wait to see people again really soon! Later~! ^^
