Baccano! will be on Saturday, also it looks like the location of the Pokemon gathering will be in Waterfront Park if we could include that. I'll narrow it down to what part of the huge park exactly when I go see which part is closest to the hotel.

Not too bad, it's only like 6 blocks, but I'm used to walking everywhere. There's another small park only like 3 blocks from the hotel but I think that would be a little cramped for our 40+ people in the Pokemon Gathering.

EDIT: Also to any people in charge of con things that look at this, at Sakuracon they put the time and place of the meet-ups in the schedules which was really nice for people who don't browse the forums or are directly involved in planning it. Do you think this could happen for Kumoricon?

We are doing a Code Geass Photoshoot some time on Sunday morning before the Cosplay Skit practice because one of the girls are in them. I will update you when we have a time.

We still have a lot of characters that we are missing so if you or anyone you know is going as a character from Code Geass please tell them to visit the forum titled: Code Geass '09.

I'd warn you ahead of time, unless your photoshoot is at midnight or some time when most people are asleep, you may not be able to do a shoot there. There will be too much constant traffic in the area to block off an entire staircase.

This is just my thoughts on it, though. I have been wrong before, heh.

I don't mean to jump out at you guys, but Nikki has been really nice about it, and it bothers me every time I come to this thread and see it.

You guys plan the photoshoot/meetup and tell Nikki. She is merely compiling a list of these so we have documentation at con and for people who don't browse certain threads. Do not ask her if there is going to be one, if you want a photoshoot and/or meetup 1. Make a thread for discussion, 2. Decide on a place and time., 3. Post that time and place in here.

We should keep to that to cause Nikki less trouble of going through posts and replying the same answer to every person who asks that.

Okay guys, I don't mean to be a killjoy with all the planning you are doing, but there's a couple of things to keep in mind:

1) You can't meet up in the hotel lobby. We have been asked to keep the lobby clear, so meeting there is not a good idea... you're better off meeting on the second floor foyer, or outside.

2) With no loithering in the lobby, you're best bet is to not plan on using the main staircase for photos. Yes, it's an awesome place, but it is a main access, and needs to be kept clear.

3) Please, unless you are doing it late at nite or early, early morning, or find an out of the way corner, no photoshoots inside. Yes, it is a bigger hotel, but we are still squeezing a lot of people in a limited space.

Like Nikki said, if you get the photoshoots planned, I will see to it that it is posted at Info Booth, so people will be able to reference it all weekend.

Potluck - Friday from 4-6pm at either Pioneer Square or Pioneer Place (the mall right nearby) depending on the weather. Bring some food from your nation (or just your favorite dish) and get a decent meal before the con starts!
Photoshoot - Sunday at noon at the South Park Block on Salmon and Park. If anyone needs a guide to get there, Austria (Malaria on the forums) will be collecting people in the hotel lobby at 11:50 AM.

obviously you haven't been paying too much attention. The schedule is out. It is on the main page. Also the reason I have to give it a deadline is to turn it into staff so they can make a large copy to display at the info booth. I already pushed it back a day because of the schedule but they said they needed it a week in advance.

A note for everyone else. At midnight tonight I will not be adding anymore groups to the list since I will be sending it to staff. They need this list at least a week in advance.

I see that Nikki pointed you to towards the schedule, so I'll just add another reminder: No meet-ups in the hotel lobby. The hotel has us to keep the main lobby clear, so you will not be able to hang out down there. You will need to meet outside of the hotel, or up on the 2nd floor (as long as it does not interfere with the flow of traffic up there).

We are not trying to be bossy about where you can and cannot gather.... it's just that the layout of the hotel and the number of people we are expecting make things a tight fit.

(Trust me, all the photo shoots I've gone to that weren't on a printed schedule pretty much fell through.)

My apologies then. I missed the schedule by a day. (not to be ultra rude, but some of us are incredibly busy too, and can't devote all our time to checking the main page for the schedule. I'd been working the entire day and didn't finish until 3:30 am, but anyways, I'm urging people in the few cosplay threads i go to to figure out a time NOW since we do, in fact, have a schedule now.)

Also, I guess we don't need to include the King's Game on the schedule since it's happening directly after the photoshoot, so I guess you don't need to worry about that?

This also a more effective way to go about it.

The reliability of forum RSVPs is pretty low. It's as good a method as any for determining what time is best for a photo shoot, but you can't guarantee anyone will come unless it's also posted in writing somewhere.

A pocket guide insert would be better, but since we don't have that, I'll be sure to point cosplayers to the info booth so they won't miss out.

So I saw rain in the forcast...for the whole weekend...have people been thinking of new locations for shoots that are in the park?

It looks like just showers so those don't last too long and on Sunday it is a chance of showers and Monday a few. I wouldn't worry too much about it. If it is raining during your shoot you can find somewhere inside to do it or change the time.

I was very disappointed in the specifications for the schedule. I wanted to take part in the vocaloid shoot, which was on the second floor, but staff began clearing out everyone from the second floor just before 11 and there was mention of going to the 23rd floor by stairs and in my shoes that was the worst thing ever and I was tired by the 4th or fifth floor then someone shouted that they were back on the second floor.

Then I wanted to go to the Left 4 Dead shoot on Monday and I was like "Alright, parking garage, this will be EASY." I leave my room, go down to the floor, ask around to know if anyone knew any more specific, found out there were like 4 different parking garages on that block alone, went to each one then gave up.

In short as a suggestion for the future probably be MUCH more specific about locations and go somewhere you know for SURE they won't boot us from.

The pokeman photoshoot turned out gloriously! There was a gigantic turnout, and now I'm just waiting for the photos to be posted. Major thanks to all who coordinated this.

My request for this thread for next year is to change the "Dragonball" photoshoot to the "Dragonball universe" photoshoot. I ran into some DBZ cosplayers who didn't show up at the shoot because of that.

That's kinda weird of them. DBZ is by far the most popular installment of that series; why did they think it'd be Dragonball only? Oh well... I guess it just goes to show what I've said all along about the con events -- it doesn't really exist until it's in print.
