So I headed over to the South Park Blocks today and wandered up and down them a bit looking for a best location. The block that's closest to the hotel is a big open square with trees all around. It's very pretty, but the trees block out all that photo-improving sunlight. The other blocks are mostly grassy, which might be a problem because of possible grass stains.

I suggest the first park block over Pioneer Square because there might be some kind of city event there. There's always something up at the Square. At the park we can intimidate people out of the way, and the trees'll give up shelter if it rains.

I vote for the pioneer square as well, lot more memorable place for people to meet since i would think people would know where it is.

And I ha question bout Panel.. how is it gonna be set up?? like just a table up front for the leaders of the panel then chairs everywhere, or would there be just empty space with still table up front for equipment and what not.. and whats the offical stuff we're gonna do too? hah, we should have a contest for the best pj put togetherness cosplay sorta thing xD

Now I'm torn. The Park Blocks would be a better place as far as area, but I also worry about people not being able to find it/not wanting to put forth the effort. Pioneer Square will be easier to find for non-Portlanders, but certainly a less ideal place as far as crowds and scenery. :x ...I think I'm gonna vote for Park Blocks, though (sorry KyoKyo D: ). Also, even with the tree cover and cloudy skies, the light should be fine. Any outdoor lighting is better than indoor in most cases. : P

@KyoKyo: Even though the PJ Party is in the Panel category, it'll actually be more of a party as opposed to a panel/audience setting. There'll be games and other fun activities. (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, Demy, Malaria)

Pioneer Square might get really awkward. There are always street preachers there. ><

That's the plan! Fun and games, without much in the way of structure. Demy was supposed to get an email from the organization lady about the specifics of our room and time, which'll give us a good idea about our limits. I can't remember if she did or not. -Best organizer ever, really.-

thats okay for the park blocks.. i'm not familiar with that part of Portland (i dun visit there much sinc ei'm 3 hours away) so i'm good withwhatever we can.. and having someone to guide over would be a rele good idea malaria.

Okie so the latter.. and what did we decide on games again and main entertainment? Or did we decide fully on one?

Kyo: I'm totally okay with gathering people beforehand and taking them to the park.

I wanted to do Risk, but I don't have it and neither does Goatchild. If one of you can bring it, we'll play stupid Hetalia risk, and I'm bringing Apples to Apples. If we can get speakers, we'll play background music and generally goof off.

Lit: I would. No need to cause conflict when you can avoid it. ~~Especially since my school is downtown.~~

The potluck is from 4-6 on Friday, either at Pioneer Square or Pioneer Place (the mall) depending on the weather.

Saya: Do Germany for the shoot! There's never too much Germany, especially with all our N Italy.

never played risk or apples to apples before xD so i know i wont be responsible for much~ and i think with what people we got, we can easily get speakers.. charrie songs ftw

and i'm bringing my lappy with me on this trip and it has all the soudtracks on it so i can easily extract data of songs if certain people dun have it :3

and thanks for the reassurance for the potluck xD but should we have something up for the potluck just in case people cant exactly figure it out where it is? like a red flag or something to tell its there ike in the mall or square? *overcaution for first time in area xD*

Apples to Apples is really fun with the right people.

The Square's a super wide open space, and also one of the most recognizable points in the city, so if it's there you'll be able to see us. If it's at the mall, I'll write detailed instructions for how to find us.

Guuhhh I don't know the area at all, apparently. I am ashamed. -.-lll Oh well, I've only been here for a year, I've got plenty of time to catch up.
A park does sound good, even if I don't know about the particular park. As long as it's in a pretty nice area of town and not too far away from the hotel, it's all good. Twelve on the Sunday would be a good time to keep, as well. How long are we going to be photographing? Anywhere around 1-3 hours, d'you think?
Yeah, I think we're going to want to stay away from street preachers. ~~Just because of their occasional salesman-like qualities. -.-;;~~ XD But who knows, they're Portland street preachers. You never know what they'll do. Lit may be right. *comes from the Southern Bible belt to a far left state*

Yeah! Apples to Apples is very fun with the right people. It's pretty cut and dry, KyoKyo, don't worry. You can understand the rules in depth in like, 20 seconds. Now, Risk, on the other hand, I've only heard of once. I have no idea what that is. : D

Perhaps we could set up a little (somewhat privatized) directory of e-mail addresses and cell numbers of other Hetalia cosplayers who are attending the events? Closer to the con, of course, and optional for those who would supply their contact info -- but that way if someone ends up lost or wondering where anyone's meeting up (this is, of course, during the con) then we can try and help out.

If this hasn't been suggested already, of course. XD

For everyone's info:
I am bringing speakers and my laptop with all of the Hetalia music on it to the PJ Party Panel, and possibly to all of the other events (because I love you all that much : D).
I don't have a microphone for karaoke at the panel, but I think it'd be funnier if we just had one of those cheap Dollar Store plastic microphones. If we want, we can all get together and invade the karaoke room for people who want to do decent karaoke. XD

We could see how many people actually show up in PJs, and then ask how many would want to enter, and if we get enough people, I say we go for if! I suggest we do it by popular vote instead of judges. We could have a little fashion show (or show down in my and Malaria's case). : D

Again, it can be one of those things where at the actual panel we ask if people are interested, and if not, scrap it. : P We should prolly move this discussion to the other thread, though, so as not to fill up this thread. XD

@naruchan: Well, in the series the Italys sleep naked, so maybe just boxorz and a tanktop/t-shirt? If you could find anything with tomatos, pizza, bulls, or turtles, I think you'd be good. :3 Tomato Romano would be cute, though. X3

If they're absolutely needed I do have both Twister and Risk if no one else can bring them. I'm just paranoid about losing the pieces to Risk, as I just got that game last Christmas and have only played it once...

And I'm coming in pajamas. I think. But I only have pajamas that I think Russia would wear, not Germany... ._. I kind of want to come as Germany, though...

Eh, I'll bring it if no one else can. I'll just be all serious!protective!Germany before anyone touches it and say for no one to lose any pieces or they'll have to run 500 laps around the convention area. =_=

Lol, Germany wouldn't want to be one with Russia. Ever. German pride. =| (And actually the pjs I'm thinking of have polar bears on them, so it actually makes me think of Canada, too...but it has a wintery feel that I associate with Russia.)
