Title: arts and crafts room
Post by: chiapetdiz on April 11, 2005, 11:28:37 am
I just got back from Sakuracon and they had an arts and crafts room.  It was awesome.  My friends and I spent a lot of time in there.  Some of the things to do were: folding paper and straw stars (to give to the guests of honor), making yarn poof balls that you could decorate to look like little animals or anime characters or what ever you wanted, paper lanterns, Chinese knots, origami, and calligraphy.

We thought it would be neat to have an arts and crafts room at Kumoricon.  Anybody else think this is a good idea??  And who would I go to to see if it could actually happen?

i agree with you. this would be a great idea. if the room were big enough, we could also have martial arts demonstrations, and perhaps taiko drumming and obon dancing. i'd go, between fanfic events of course!

you're refering to crossplay?  currently, I dun have any of those within my cosplay plans.  I'm mostly thinking of going along with the theme that my haku cosplay has.  That is, cosplay male characters that are usually done by girls.

I'm pretty open mind myself as well....at least I try to be anyway.  likely why I dun object to yaoi as much as other guys do.
