Title: TUNAC anime club in Gerliger hall
Post by: BigGuy on April 05, 2005, 09:39:12 am
So the UO anime club(which anyone can come to)  is running again  we now have a room in Gerlinger hall room 242 it's up the street from the EMU towards Mac court by the graveyard. the time is still 7-10 on thursday nights.     Sakuracon is this week so I'll be up in Seattle but Laura and Terry will be there and Terry was nice enough to burn a dvd for us. So hopefully things will take this time and we can finally get club underway. See you all the week after Sakuracon! :D

but this is on thursdays?

normally i am working 3 to midnight every thursday.

however, there is the possibility that i may be having surgery tomorrow, in which case i would be off work thursday.

if, G-d willing, that goes well, i would be into going to both the kcon meeting, if there is one, and the tunac showing. where/when is the kcon meeting?

yeah it's on thursday, sorry, I don't think there will be a K-con meeting this week as almost everybody is going to seattle. but they are still in the EMU fishbowl in the back corner when we do have them.
  Hope your surgery goes well.

I think people start showing up around 6pm and the meetings can range from 1 hour till the EMU closes, people leave early if they have to. sometimes we get stuff done and just hang out.

My mind is blanking out right now.

Is Gerlinger Hall the place with the large ballroom dance floor?

I've never been to Gerlinger hall but I looked up a map of the UO, if you know where the EMU and Mac Court are this will be easy, it's basically inbetween EMU and Mac Court on the other side of the road, it backs up against the graveyard, there is an annex also, the room is 242, not sure if that is in the annex or the main building. Hope to see you there!

I'm trying to.  The hard part is there are things I want to buy and then there's my budget which I have to be careful of.

And DVDs (Anime) over here are EXPENSIVE!!!

That's strange, I would think dvd's of anime would be cheaper in Japan.

O__O That's my dream vacation. Spend about 4 days in Tokyo, but ride the JR lines and other subways around to Akihabara, Harajuku (Not that scary parts! o-o) and Shinjuku. Possibly in December for Comiket (sp?).
Ahh. Other people to go Florida. I go to The Electric City. :3

i'm gonna go to japan this summer for 3 week to study ( jpn conversotion and international studies 5 credits) its gonna be soo cool, in kyoto but i not picky, i just need to becarful not to spend my food money on suviners and anime, thats a problem on skool trips and family vacations i either save my money (fam trips) and on the last day when we head home and every ons scronging for food money, they use whatever i've saved, or on skool trips i buy stuff instead of eat and spend as little as possible on food like on one 20$ on stuff for family and 2 dollers for food that day
  i can eat when i get back    but then... this will be japan, it will be japanese food!!.....(silence as head exploaded)

I'm in Tokyo.
It's a half hour train ride (express) from where I live to the main part of Tokyo (Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, etc.) but once you figure out the train system, it's pretty easy to get to anywhere.
Look for a store called "Animate" in Akihabara and Ikebukuro.  Lots of anime-goodies.
