THE FINAL FANTASY PROJECT
Alrighty then, first let me introduce myself. My name is Amaya and I am a seventeen-year-old highschool junior. But do not let that fool you! I am passionate about acting, especially voice acting. Which is how I got this idea in my head.
All Final Fantasy's from X on having voice actors; but what about their lower-numbered brethren? Final Fantasy's I-IX have yet to receive the gift of a voice. How many times have people watched the 'Your Not Alone' scene from FFIX and felt the emotion, only to wish you could actually hear the characters portray it. Or Aerith's death scene; her shock and pain, as well as Cloud's monologue afterwards?
So why not?
Why not give our favorite characters a voice?
This is where the Project comes in. We will start with Final Fantasy VII, then FFVIII, then FFIX. The only reason we start with those is the footage is more readily available to me. =^-^= If there is interest, I shall hunt down footage of Final Fantasy's I-VI and those shall be done as well. People shall be cast into roles and will be judged by not only myself, but a group of my Final Fantasy-loving friends. I cannot judge by myself for I would be bias... I wanna voice act too! XD
We will not be doing individual scenes, either... no no, my plan is to dub THE ENTIRE GAME. Start ot finish. ALL NINE OF THEM. Maybe even tactics and Crystal Chronicles... who knows? ^^
So come on in! But remember a few simple rules/things to know:
--> WE ARE DUBBING ENTIRE GAMES, SO DON'T FAIL ON US. I will be cutting out all random battles, of course, and maybe a few sidequests (like the chocograph sidequest of IX) but the concept is still the same. The average Final Fantasy can be done in about 20 hours; cut out random battles and stuff and it could drop down to about 12, approximately. So please... pleaspleaspleaseplease, for the sake of all that is good and holy... DON'T BAIL HALFWAY THROUGH A DUB!
--> You can audition for as many characters as you like, but just don't over-do it, okay?
--> Send the auditions to xxrelena@aol.com
--> the auditions must be in WAV or MP3 format
--> Save the auditions as YourVAAUsername_Character_Line
--> It would be nice if you could zip together the files for the sake of my computer space, but if not... I can deal with it.
---> Be nice if you don't get a part, please? ^^;;
--> If a character is not listed... I was just too lazy to put them. XD Audition anyway with whatever lines you want.
This is a little project of mine. Using footage from the games, we are going to dub and release on the interwebs the entirety of FFI-FFIX with vocals. We are starting with FFVII-IX because footage is much, MUCH easier to obtain and those three are the more popular. I was not sure exactly where to put this in the forums... but thought that fan creations would be a good place to put it. The website is not done as of yet; I've got a bit more to do on it. XD Little trivia; the version of the main site is whatever project has pirority at that time. Right now it's FFVII
Hmm... that's all I can think of for right now... I'll probably have a youtube channel made in the next few days, so... look forward to it? XD And, if you want to audition, just follow the rules and send me auditions!

I don't think I am very good at voice acting (never really tried), but as an avid FF fan/enthusiast/cosplayer, I have to say you're amazing for undertaking this project! Good luck finding the right people!

Oh, come on! XD Anyone can voice act if they put their mind to it! And thank you very much~ I'm working very hard on script's a stuff. Have to make up my own dialogue for the FMVs and boss battles and stuff like that... about a fourth the way done with FFVII's script. The deadline for mains for FFVII is the 28th, so the FFVII dub, since it has proiority, should hopefully start early next month. I just wanted to post here to see if anyone on the site was interested. XD

Ah, good to see you have a plan! If I had a computer mic and a sure way to record, I'd definitely at least try out. But I don't, and I wouldn't want to get involved without being sure I could follow it through.
Can't wait to see the final result though.

I don't know the FF games all that well, but I'm very interested! Hahaa maybe this will give me the final push to check 'em out. :0 Or do you only want hardcore fans?
Just because I'm not a super fan it doesn't mean I'll bail. I can commit. I know enough about the games to say that. :P

I don't care how much of a fan you are. All I need is people who can read and record lines. Everything beyond that is up to me! XD

xD I've done some stuff like this, but I don't know how committed I could be. =p Plus....xD I can't really sound like any Final Fantasy characters.

I'm normally not one for english dubs, but FFVI is my all time favorite, and I'd consider doing a voice for a dub on that one. ^__^ I'll have to prep an audition clip.

I'm not usually one for english dubs either... but these don't have vocals to begin with, and I wanted to add them in. ^^
As for using pre-recorded stuff... the way it works is you audition for a character using the lines I provided. I do it this way, like others, mainly for comparison purposes. Like... it's hard to tell who does Cloud better if the two you're looking at are reading lines from different parts of the game, etc. The lines are in the voice acting alliance forums link.

Nice commercial! Hopefully it will draw folks in.
I was thinking, you could also do an actual commercial-sized "teaser" to draw people in, like a little :30 second bare basics commercial, and if people wanted more, they could watch the whole thing. Might help.

If I can figure out how to hack the game's iso... I might be able to make it so you can actually play the game with the voice overs.... but that is EXTREMELY unlikely. XD

At the moment... it actually might happen for FFVIII. XD someone else already had a project to add voices to the PC version of FFVII going on, and I asked if I could provide VAs if they decided to do FFVIII afterwards. They said sure. Just the PC version, though. But if I can ever figure out how to hack the game and program in voices myself, then I'll try to do it for all nine of them, getting the ISOs from one of the emulator websites and using that. But, for now, they are all going to just be movies... except FFVIII, which MAY be both. Still conjecture at this point, though.

I think that there may be more lines for woman 2 then Jessie. XD I'm still in the process of fixing little things in the script; a second version with what characters are needed for what episode will be up in the next week or so. The Episode I'm currently working on is always stickied on the main website forums for the Project. There's a Link on the VAA thread. ^^

How would I get in on FFVIII? That FF holds a special place for me.

There's a link to the VAA forums; there it has characters taken. Anyone on that list is up for grabs; give me a name and I'll fine lines for you. ^^
