All right, who's getting it? I preordered it the first day I could.
Eeeheehee. I haven't looked forward to a game this much since FFVIA. And even that was just the same game just ported--Platinum has a rewritten plot. And from what I understand, the Galactics (who, let's face it, are the best part of Sinnoh) are a lot eviler. Which, given their ultimate goal *already*, should be really awesome.
I've already got fic ideas about the Distortion World but I need to see how it plays out in the game. Not to mention holy crap I can send over a ton of stuff from Pearl (heeheehee, I can start with a Larvitar in my paaaaarty...). Also I eagerly await finding out if a certain detail about a character is in there or not (some people who've played it in Japanese swear that it says that Cyrus is 27, but other people swear that it says no such thing. I'm more inclined to believe that it *does* simply because the people who say it doesn't never say where the idea comes from, and that the age has shown up on Japanese sites which means it wouldn't be a translation error from an amatur playing it, but still, confirmation would be nice).
Yes I care far too much about the bad guys, but aren't they the best reasons to play RPGs?

Platinum has the same starters, and same basic story as DP. Think of it as the new Emerald/Crystal/Yellow version. Same game but lots of extras.

Grrrr... CHEAP BASTARDS! They did it AGAIN! They used a mirror of the right sides of both main characters (boy and girl) sprites for their, left sides! For instance, with the girl, the purse is ALWAYS facing the player when she is running right or left. I was SO hoping they would have fixed that for this installment (seeing how they created slightly new sprites), but NO, they decided NOT to use a few of the THOUSANDS of dollars they made off of daimond and pearl to create a left side for the main character's sprite!!! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Ya if you have either a wobbafet w/ shadow tag as an ablility or a trapinch at like lvl 73 w/ sand trap or something like that or a golbat with mean look. any of those moves make it so it wont run away once you see it and carry a grass type pokemon with sweet scent so if it gets away just use that with out moving and you should be able to see it again

Dark Types will work, so will other ghost types.

You need to go to route 225 and fish using a super rod for Poliwhirls, and use theif/have a pokemon with the pick-up ability. There's a 5% chance that you can steal one and a 1% chance of picking one up after the battle if the pokemon's level is above 30

Though, I am a fan of some UU pokes such as Absol and.. well.. honestly, I'm not even really familiar with current tiers. I'm not really competitive at all. I just have fun breeding and training pokemon, and trying to get them as many ribbons as they can get.

Yeah, I'm pretty much just working on catching them all.. and since I'm familiar with the stat mechanics and hidden values, I like to breed pokemon and train them.. plus, I'm familiar with the RNG manipulation, so I can breed shiny pokemon guaranteed in Pearl.
Actually, my recently bred Scizor is almost lv100.. my new false swiper to replace Absol, until I breed a new, better Absol.
