So, I recently discovered the brilliant card game/mock-rpg Munchkin, and I love it. I found Cthulhu Munchkin at this year's H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival and it rocks. Anyone else play Munchkin in any form? I've been itching to play with some people, more than just two, so I would like to get together with some others and play a while. Takers?

Munchkin is Awesome! I normally play the Kung Fu version Munchkin-Fu and the standard Munchkin. If fighting an Undead Hurricane Katrina isn't epic i dont know what is. We lost everything to that Battle. :P
If ya haven't played Munchkin-Fu version you should check it out, it parodies not just kung fu but all the Hong Kong action movies aswell.
-
I only played it once, at K-con 08 and I want to play it some more but I don't have anyone to play it with.
-
I really like how all the separate sets are compatible with each other. Just combine 'em all! I'll definitely check out Munchkin-Fu, sounds awesome, haha.
And we'll definitely have to keep eyes open for the Munchkin event next year, as I think I remember seeing something on last year's schedule like "Midnight Munchkin", I assume that was the game and not something else.
-
I played it at Kcon '07 one night but other than that I haven't, though it was really fun. <3 card games. A lot like Fluxx how all those versions can be played together as well.
-
Ive played it but I think we were playing wrong. Some things never made sence, LOL. But we had a blast anyways!
-
Munchkin Quest is always a hoot.
-
i've played it with you, eve-fiance, and it was fun ^.^ it'd be awesome to combine multiple versions and play with more people
-
Yeah! Cthulhu Cultists, ninjas and Undead Hurricane Katrina and who knows what else all in the same universe. That'd be epictastic.
-
Ah yes munchkin I think I remember something like that sitting in the main lobby of the hotel at like 5:30am in the morning finishing I think nearly 6 hours of munchkin =P
I'm here to say that I'm going to pushing for A Lot more munchkin and other Steve Jackson gaming this year.
I'm a local MiB(Men in Black, a secret order of organized fans for SJ games) hope to run munchkin both card and the new board game as well as other SJ games like the new spanc the titles speaks for itself: Space Pirate Amazon Ninja Catgirl. Still VERY early to comment on anything, but hoping to get a few other Local MiB in the area to help out run games and donations for the charity auction.

I have Original Munchkin up through #4 Need for Steed. I even made my own counters for the game. I wouldn't mind playing with anyone in Eugene area. Just let me know.
Played Midnight Munchkin during last Kcon. Lots of fun ;D

hopefully there's munchkin being played at the next kcon, it really is a blast. I played at mew con and it was so much fun. I can play it now and not need to ask so many questions about it. All you really need to remember is to kick down the door, everything else is explained on the cards. I wanna buy it damnit, it's so much fun.
-
I played it too, it was fun at first, but after playing a few times it becomes less exciting because of vagueness
-
Omg, I haven't played this game in years! Munchkin freakin owns!
-
I'm glad to see so many people interested. I am going to be aiming to play it, at some point, during Kumoricon this year.
-
Hells yea count me in on that.
Heh, last time I played the DM decided to add Some more ruels to it, every time you get an item card or back stab some one you have to take a drink. . . yea bad idea, the game ended when the DM and his GF getting in an argument like always over the rules, then some one decided to flip over the table to be funny. . . 200+ card pick up FTL. 2 years later I'm still finding thoes little Coin tokens in random places around the living room.
-
Munchkin is awesome! I've played it with my family a few times, mixing the traditional munchkin with Munchkin in space. If people get together to play munchkin at Kcon this year, I'd love to play!!
-
I'm stoked to see some good reception. I'd definitely like to get together and play this with some of y'all at K-Con. We'll just have to see how the schedule turns out though. Don't know how booked up things will be.
-
There are will be Munchkin events aplenty at Kumoricon this year. Just stop by Tabletop Gaming. Further details can be found in the schedule when it is released.

Well post con follow up... turns out a heck of alot people play it. having 18 people show up in the afternoon for the Ninja Vs Pirate was FANTASTIC! even if it was chaotic :) Midnight Munchkin was fun! and I have to say a BIG BIG thank you to those people who helped me seperate the cards on the 2nd night.
Next year It will be better planed. Hopefully a more "ninja vs pirate" tied to the gaming part and prize. a better sign up will be in place. I Hope everyone had fun playing All those SJ games! With the notes I took and asking the dealer(monster) and GameStorm staff, I'll have a better idea what to do next time(seems SPANC was alot more popular then I had thought).
BTW if anyone would like to play more SJ games Even if your not Local to Portland, send me an email with your location(City, state) and I'll be happy to look up MiB's in your area. So that playing SJ games isn't a once a year event =P

we should have a big munchkin meetup sometime
-
Does anyone know of someplace in Portland where people meet up for Munchkin? There has to be something in the area!

-
I like the Sneaky Bastard Sword ;)
-

-
Yeah, aside from my wife I have not found anyone to play it with on a regular basis here either. It's still fun though, I just need to play it more often.
-
I'm with you guys, no one plays. If anyone is ever up for meeting in a coffee shop some afternoon for a few rounds I'm game. Might be fun to plan something if there is interest.
-
I LOVE munchkin, such a fun game :) I play it whenever I have a lot of friends over :D I have the original, the sci fi, and the vampire versions :)
