IMPORTANT: We now have meetings every THURSDAY at 8:30

Ok so last year I noticed that at the last kumo there was a Plum and some other tiny persicom character from choboits (I think cant remeber to well) Who would circle the line and do little excersices, it really made the line a bit more fun for some people I think (granted I was already through cause of pre reg, but me and my friend were just circling the line while we waited for dealers room)

I'm thinking this would be a fun idea for those of us who have nothin to do the first couple hours while people go through the line before dealers room opens

basicly a group of people who shall make rounds around the line doing funny stuff, like skits, excorsies, ect... I think it would be a LOT of fun, we could do some on friday for pre reg as practice, then on saturday we just circle around before the dealers room opens up and help make the process more enjoyable for every one : )

it wont be like made squad because I dont think we will give out beverages (maybe toss candy, dunno possibility) or hold places in line, but it sounds good to me.

anyone like the idea?

oh dont know if i mentioned but cosplay is a must, if you absolutley cant thats fine, it can be origonal outfits to, but we just want them funky outfits and cosplays that are the reason we all come to these cons for :3

I like the idea! That day I'll have nothing to really do for at least 3 hours. And on top of that waiting for 3 hours doing nothing im going to be the 2 headed guy I love most, SAKON! =3 Maybe I could do a skit or something random like yelling "SASUKE GET BACK IN THE BOX!"

Kinky that is awsome xD

Friday will be our main practice day so we can try out what we have on the pre reg people, to do this we gotta make sure we are like first in line so we get through fast

i know my group is doing AA and we are getting their at noon or so and parking our arses were that line will start as the others set up, so as soon as we are through the misirable souls who arnt setting up the table will join me in practice.

i am thinking though we could get some candy and toss it out at some of the line peeps.

And what time does the con start on the first day? I'll be at the hotel already so I could try saveing a spot for you if thats not against the con law or w/e X3

the first day? well most people are up and at em at about seven

i am ussualy waking up at 6 on saturday to get ready

so i am thinking if its not to early we meet up at 7, practice and prepare for a bit then hit hte lines.

we need to think of fun things to do that corispond with our cosplay though

Hmmm well....Sakon didnt get a very long part so many I'll go up to a kiba or sasuke and say something X-x

Kinky: yeah it was long, thats why i'm making this idea, i dont think we can do it the whole line cause frankly i got a job to do when the dealers room opens *unless i swindel one of my friends into taking my shift* but i think we can figure something out

it would be awsome if we could work out a way with the staff to get us through faster on friday so we can get out and start entertaining people.

Well by the time you guys get there i'll probly already have my badge after waiting. I think it opens at 8am tho >_> not sure. Oh and I had a question! If I had to go....who would I go to? Like to tell them I have to go and such. Just you? >.< Well no one will be there frieday anyway......the con starts on sat.

ok this is my thinkging

firday we all try to check in if your a pre reg (cause i think we all are) and if were up to it and get through fast we can get some practice in with the line on friday

i could talk to rathany and see if she would let us check in early, given our group be small, because we are just goin to entertain people waiting. i doubt she will let us but it is a maybe.

saturday we meet up at 7, do some practice, get ready, then for a couple hours make our way around the line, maybe twice depends on our time frame. then for those who still dont have anything to do go through a couple more times (cause then though the park fills up some more as with the lobby, the only thing thats open is the vernders hall)

Ah I get it now! I didnt know there was a park at the hilton.....o-o So we would have to do that park and the lobby too???? But if there in the lobby and park that means they have waited in line and already seen what we had to show them.

Well I have kind of an idea. If we could get more of the Akatsuki or maybe most of the sound 5 we could get something to play toybox's "sailor song" And I have a dance for it.
Or we could do something random (maybe get some girly looking charaters) and dance to the song "gay bar" XD
For the candy we could always throw some chocolate out EVERYONE loves chocolate! =3 I have plenty of it to.

oh heres my idea

we could do several things, like maybe have a skit about dealing with the normies, and avoiding cosplay fan girls, those who arnt acting give out candy, and we can talk to the people and make like its a real show, and of course do some improvasion with the people in line.

Those are good ideas. Maybe an "anti fangirl spray" skit. kind of like an advertisement. I could also just give out candy if you wanted me to.

what if we also covered the cosplay skits line? we cant skip that line, but we have like half the group holds the spot in line, the other half go's around entertaining, then we switch... i gotta do rehearsal for a part of it, but for a good chucnk of that line i am availble to work.

XD I was conversing with Chihiro on MSN. I also saw a lot of complaints with the Game and screaming Yaoi out. I mean, cosplaying Yaoi is fine but if you're screaming out "SASUFREAKINGNARU" every twelve seconds.... >< Same with the Game. I personally don't find a problem with it, but I know some people got angry with people screaming "I lost the game" every minute.

I also have an iPod Video, but seeing as that has some singing covers of mine, I'm not sure if I would want to leave it alone. XD;; I think I have everything from like...Cloud's Theme to Immediate Music to E.S. Posthumus. XD In dramatic music speaking. yeah the day before, i think most people on the forums are gonna pre reg anyways, so i'm guessing most of the Ryodan will to, so that way we can just pre reg on friday and do some practice perhaps if they let us through first.

the reason i'm hopefull they might is because we are a bit like maid squade and i think they do but again i dont know the facts....

we should have a skit on what i call con itis, its when you dont find time to sleep, eat, drink, or bathe... xD ah surviving the con is so hard sometimes.

Dana: you can be whoever you want :3 but try to think of the things that people will know well and will fit in well with skits!

XD so how exactly would we do that skit? =o For me I always survive the con! I eat and drink once a day so thats not a problem and Im an insomniac so slepings also not an issue and I bathe every morning! So I probly wun be good at this skit at all XD Durring this part I'll throw out candy! If thats ok.

we can have so many funy things for this! but i think we should try to get lots of people for it.... that way we can actualy do the two groups thing, and maybe do some advertising in the park or what not :3 and see if we can cover cosplay line...

this is great, it really gives us something to do when there is nothing to do xD

How bout maybe 2-3 min shows.....or 5 min. But we switch sertain skits. Or we could time or estimate how long the skit would take and what ones were gonna do.

Yup, We could maybe change the skit so wherever were at they all see something different every certain amount of time.

We should split it up into 3 groups if we have enuff people so a certain amount gos to the cosplay line then one to the front of the reg-line and one to the back of the reg-line. Hows that? =o

alright more recruits! <3

Tofu: we are not part of staff or maid squad, we are just some people looking for something to do saturday morning when nothings going and deciding to spend it entertaining others still stuck in line for the con (I request that you have some how made it through the line on friday so we wont have are Ryodans stuck in the line we are working)

if we get enough people (which is looking like we will) we will split up into two groups, one start at each end of the line and work our way around, and i think we will probelly circle the line twice then dealers open and we are all dissmissed.

I am also thinking that we may cover the cosplay skit lines, those of us that are availble of course, if we do that one then what i'm thinking will happen is those who are going to be in rehersal for said skits will cover the line in its early stages then when its time for us to go we let the ohters take over, half holding their own place in the line the other half going around entertaining then switching off.

also there is a slight possibility of doing a pre show as an advertisment friday in the lobby.

as for times i want us to meet at 7 am saturday, do a quick rehershal, prepare our props and candy, then head out and cover it till dealers open whilst we let people go take brakes between shifts.

okay. I'm in a skit so I can do early working.

(I request that you have some how made it through the line on friday so we wont have are Ryodans stuck in the line we are working) do you mean show up for pre reg on friday? okay so if I already have my badge mailed to me before con and I show up pre reg friday will I be registered for the whole weekend? like I don't have to wait in line the first day to get checked in?

okay I think I can do 7. ooooooh pre show sounds fuuuuuuun. :3

yeah, xD we may just travel around on down times to entertain people, cause to be honest when theres nothing going on its not like we will have anything to do anyways. i dont think we will take the cossplay chess line... but i deffiantly wanna do the cosplay skits one cause that is a LONG line!

yeah a pre show would be fun. have music and boards with rules and what we do. and then a demonstration or something. you know it's funny, this event we're doing is seeming to get a lot of people but the other actual staff jobs like yojimbo and maid squad don't seem to get to many. :/

xD and when we meet in the middle the pre reg switchs to the reg and the reg to the pre reg : D

my trouble is now trying to figure out what to do for the cosplay line, thats the only other one i'm pretty sure i want to cover....

the hard thing is thats a long standing line, and a few of us i know will in fact be busy... if we get enough people maybe have a small group covering it... depends, like those who have to rehears take it in the early stages, then a group that half sits and holds their place in the line the other half preforms then switch off....

Yeah I need to figure out which costume I want to do. One of the ones that I am thinking about cosplay for kumoricon isn't very well known but I am really looking forward to it.....or should I stick with a well known one?

two the weathers nicer.

but we need to figure out a way to chat better till then... once it gets closer to con and we need to figure out skits we eather need a lot of meetings (which would be hard for a lot of people) or figure out if we all have a messenger in common... i know the blunt of us have an MSN... but it would be good when we are coming up with skits.

ok this apears to be our schedual thus far

Friday:
Pre show in the lobby, practice

Saturday: Big day, we start at 7:30 and go till 9 or ten, with brakes inbetween. ten is when things start to get going, if its earlyer than i will change the time.

possibley another small show in the park or lobby, really depends if anyones up to it.

Sunday:
Cosplay skits line, thats gonna be a big one, only one group will cover it but we take shifts acording to schedual because of the great time span, those participating in skits or contest get first round before rehersals start, then if most ryodans feel like attending skits half the group who didnt take the first shift sit and hold the spot in line, the other half goes and entertains, ones they finish a round come back and switch with the half sitting down.

Monday: very possibley may cover chess line... really depends if yall are up for it.

We should do some improv games. The characters will already be set (with the costumes of course) but there's still a lot of potential variety with the setting and circumstances in which characters "meet" and such. Some of my favorites are Freeze and Slideshow. To involve the audience, we could do Whose Line, where they can suggest lines (on slips of paper) for the actors to use in the scene. The actors in the scene would then periodically use these.

I felt the same when it came to being in a skit. I got butterflys AFTER it was over. I think when it comes to it, all of us laughing while doing improv will make all nerves calm down and anxiousness go away. and I'm glad you feel comfortable with everyone. :3

it's improvisation for short or simply 'to improvise'. you can take objects or people and try and do what ever with them. it's using what little resources you have to create something great.

I could bring some and hand it out. that's what I did last year but I mainly chose to give it to people that were some of my fave characters or had amazing cosplays. but I didn't have too much pocky. this year I'll be ready though. :3

Well Sakuracon is getting pretty big. I know last year it looked really really packed.
Theres always the possiblility that we could get it up there at the 08 we had 5 thousand even though it didnt look like it But the bigger the place the more money you have to spend to stay there.

course I have been away for a while (dropped a very very very heavy metal christmas tree holder on my ankle while coming down the stairs, and fell the rest of the way, i'm fine but it delayed me logging on to the forums for a bit)

but I like all your ideas! so your going to have a mini meeting at the next meetup? If one of you guys could take notes and e-mail them to me about what happend i thinkt hat would be great! And we could make like a private chat room or something to talk it over afterwords so i can be up to date. hate that I cant go TT_TT

oh and the stalker idea is fantastic, we need a list of all our skit ideas ok? keep in mind this will likley be shared by two groups who both have at least two rounds around the lines, and the cosplay skits line needs diffrent ones to.

I missed that list as well. 0_0 but there all really good ideas.

what about people that give random advice about things? like 'what not to when confronted by a fan of any kind' and 'what to do when looking for something to buy', sort of like a do's and don'ts list. or even a pro/cons list. I dunno sort of just sprouted off the top of my head.

I think we should have Mario arduously battle through the final castle and then when he sees her it's actually a weird crossdresser guy wearing her dress. And he says that he locked Peach in another castle or something and Mario just gives up.

the rehearsal takes up most of the day. Especially if you are unlucky enough to be at the end of it. You will have to wait for everyone else to go through then do yours. And everyone else is going through very very slowly.

At Sakuracon (I know there is a bigger crowd there) it took about four hours to go through all of them. And I had to stay. I had to prove that I can walk on stage without falling. At Kumoricon I was helping out Toxicon and her sister and they were supposed to do walk-ons first but they didn't and we had to wait about 30 minutes for the first skit to get done before they event started walk-ons.

the skits themselfs are ussualy a block in other activities anyways, i dont think much happens while their on

we got two line shifts

one starts before rehersals in early stages of the line (they line up really early! O_O) and then we switch with people in the Ryodans who intend to watch the skits... between them half hold the groups spot the other half entertain then they switch

I'll talk to staff about it and see if we can do like one skit inside cause only a small portion of the line is inside, it ussualy goes out the door wich is our targeted audiance

Syd: Yes but i want to get a more genearl idea of cosplays, it would be a bit weird to have a bunch of scatered cosplays, it might be more wise to aproach this with a bit of an idea of what kind of cosplays we want that would work well for this.

Since such a small portion is inside I don't think they would let us....they could even end up yelling at us for doing it outside as well. I would clear the whole thing with the staff >_>

Remember last year's k-con we couldn't be in the street....if we did this we would have to be about that distance away....not sure if there is enough room at the hotel for this year >_>

Just like basic things, not something that would defeat the purpose of improv. o.o Like, the party game where one person has to guess what everyone else is. but I think we can run with the same idea but perhaps do something like Patricks peach is ahollow so the Bleach team is off to kill it, or a group of ninjas acepts the task to save peach as a mission, you gotta give them a reason to be doing this or it wont make much sense, will look disorganized and sloppy.

but we shall figure more out at the meeting....

Second order of buisness!

MEETING UPDATE -IMPORTANT-

Ok we NEED to have a meeting sometime soon, and what better time than a quick one at the meetup? We will have like 4 hours of meetup time to quardinate one!

It wont have to be longer than 30 minutes I think, I really just want go to get a general idea of where we are all at.

I'm thinking we meet about an hour to two hours in to the meetup (liable to change) and just find a place to talk and confirm who wants to do what and how many people we have, also recruitments

I want to have TWO FULL TEAMS of people to participate in the entertaining! so we can have two groups covering the lines, one start at each end kinda thing. i think enough people have said they want to take part that we will have two teams but not many have shown more than the first initial intrist. i need people who are serios about this and willing to work with me on the skits.

ALSO Syd you and I need to have a meeting over MSN with anyone else interested in doing the skit, PM me or message me when works for you.

I finnaly figured out my cosplay days and what not after a month or so of being scrambeled. And at the moment they are my finnaly and locked cosplays enless I can find a girl cosplay that is like super easy and doesnt make me have to get a wig x.x
-flails- And im talking it out with my friend about the skit thingy and if I cant do 2 skits I sha'll choose this one 8D

xD I know, after sakura i gotta start nailing the gun on end of the year school work, then i gotta start getting serios about my cosplays, and then once schools out oh god... then its time to mass produce products for the artist alley table D: thats the thing when selling stuff like goggles there, they take a bit of a time to make -_- not to mention then Ryodans are gonna start getting a lot more serios cause i gotta start making an official list of everyone and our skits and what not to mention our rotations.... then i gotta start getting thins ready for the skit, Osla comes up for amonth so i get to spend time with her, best friend comes home from boarding school so i have to also go there like every other weekend (damn boarding school of hers!) oh and some wher ein there i'm going to europe with the familey for two weeks! @_@

Hey guys! The meeting went really well last night : ) thanks Nikki for sendingme all the notes and the rough of the script, I really like it so far!

I think we should figure out a date for the next one as there are still some things I want to cover.

we have a rather big agenda for next time so we should probally aim for something a little earlyer this time and get the things we know wont take as long to talk about (IE recruiting people, staff ok, costumes, ect) out of the way first and then get into things like the skits that as we now know can take up a full hour of conversation later in the back.

hmm.... We dont have a ton of characters that we exclusevley need for skits (like cloud) but its great to have characters that can go in and out of parts. I think any of your cosplays will be great

right so my mom said i would be ok. :D and as for my cosplays...i dont know what i will wear for the first day. im planning on making cirno from touhou for sure...then i hope to make shiek from brawl, and im still deciding on the others. but if need be i can wear some of my previous cosplays. i have rikku-ffX, ash-pokemon(original), misha-pita ten(buny pjs), tsukasa-lucky star(summer uniform), and ino-naruto(first outfit) I dont know if my tsukasa skirt still fits, and some of ino wont fit, but i can fix taht easily. My hair is too short for her now, but im sure i can get a wig or attachable ponytail thing.

nyahaha: We dont need a positive on all of them yet, a few of us picked our first day cosplay cause of the skits, or you could change after words like i am.

well wigs ussualy make the cosplay nicer but as long as your reckognizable

ps. wigs arent hard to find either : ) You can find them fairly cheap around ebay if you know where to look

I would say your best bet would be Rikku, Ash, or Tsukasa ;D

Pretty good actually we got alot more done that was needed to along the lines of the skit on stage thingy. I think Dana updated the notes for us also sence we went through so much its hard to explain it all >w< All we really have left is the music needs to be done and something else. Then were pretty much done with most of the planning. 8D
