Since when do you have a forums account? :D (Tis Sahara :3)
It's weird watching that episode... it makes our school look like a prison xD
It's not that bad... you got to go on Made because of it I guess... x3
JClub's been no fun this year though, I think it's because we don't have you ;)
I haz an account since I stopped being lazy and made an account? XDDD
Didja see I won the Choco-tan mascot contest?
Oh cool! Thanks for choosing my design!I haz an account since I stopped being lazy and made an account? XDDD

Luna, that was you? I had no idea! XD I don't watch MTV, but I'm relieved that you stuck with anime. I mean, it's your choice, but I'm still relieved, for whatever reason.
That's cool!

Is that why you still haven't come to an Anime Friday? My wife and daughter actually took an interest in your MTV-Made special. I still say, you remind me of my daughters best friend (http://clara-coon.deviantart.com/). I thought about putting her pic here, but changed my mind. :-\

You know, you should consider running a panel for the 2009 convention to share about your experiences, answer questions, etc. How would you feel about that? I can help you get in touch with the right people for it if you'd like
Uwa~ That would be cool, but I don't know if I would be allowed to. I had to sign a contract with MTV, so I'm not sure if I would be allowed to speak about it without permission. It would probably depend on the questions and such.
You could always give them a call. If the episode's aired, I'm sure they'll be more lax on it. Leanne Marshall from Project Runway had a whole bunch of interviews after the final episode aired. My friend was on Wheel of Fortune, won, and couldn't talk about it for two months. Turns out he won a trip to Mexico! Had he talked, he would've lost all his winnings.
I'm guessing you'd be fine doing a panel, but a quick email or something would probably clear everything up.
How about your experiences as an anime fan before the show, how it was handling schedules, crew, etc., and how you balance your post-life with your continuing love for anime?
You could talk about how you experienced what is largely considered a "normal" life (if you feel that), and any negativity you felt when confronting this with your "otaku" side. Also, what your future plans might be.
I don't know about other people, but when I was younger, I had a worry about my anime love and the "real" world and if I could balance the two or not. I remember thinking when I was 13, "Will I still like Sailor Moon when I'm 16?" and when I was 16, "Will I still like anime when I'm 21?" Other people might be having similar worries, and your experiences could provide comfort for that.
For the record, I'm 22 now ;)
I like those ideas lychee, especially the ones about anime related experiences.
You should do it sensei!
We'd all be backin you up yo ;D
ah, otaku's are being brought forth to television. (loved the random snip its of cosplay through out the episode XD)
I'd go to the panel. it's a pretty cool idea. hey it's kind of like having our own little celeb at our con.
Lawl, you're a celeb now :D
Are you sharing an AA table with Pengi?
I don't know if she is but I've been telling her she should for awhile. It'd be cool if you guys shared :3
You'd probably get a lot of traffic if you let it be known that you were the Made chick XD
Does anyone at your college recognize you as a supah stah? xD
I think that would be a little weird....walking down the street and people are like "Hey are you that girl from Made?"
thats cool, was that after the episode or from this topic? After the episode, lol. I can tell whenever they replay it because my pageviews go up by a couple hundred XD
Thats funny. It's always nice to get more recognition.
And I'm sure this is a question you got asked a lot but what was it like to have a camera following you around all the time?
I think it would be really weird....and maybe hard for me to watch it afterwards, when you hear what everyone thinks of you x.x
Plus I would be "ugh I look horrible" the whole time XD
I ran away from the cameras most of the time but the one time I got trapped by them they didn't use that scene because I was like "It sure feels weird being filmed!" Remember that? XD
Nice, now I would like to be on camera but in high school....ugh....
Oh one thing I will never get used to is the sound of my voice, it's much deeper then what I hear XD

Well I danced with you but I'm an idiot by nature so I messed it up. I think you whacked me for it too :D
And I was in my anti- JClub mode back then which is why I missed most of it... how was your coach by the way? She was blinded me like sun xD
I was just a noob... which makes me sad because this year JClub is genuinely craptastic :D
Well at least you could take her!
And I will always love that one part in your episode where it pans into the picture of a sleeping Edward Elric. I had a FMA calendar with that piccy before! xD
Sorry a little off topic for a sec but what college do you go to mangakaluna?
I never really got involved in any Japanese or anime clubs at my high school.
I understand. I sent you a pm and I guess it would be a bit of a hassle dealing with other people trying to get in contact with you
wow that sucks....
That does suck, but I guess thats the price of fame.wow that sucks....
Yeeeah. So I am a little wary about the personal info out for everyone to see >_>
Mine is actually a lot higher than I think. Sometimes I can't even recognize my own voice xD
Nice, now I would like to be on camera but in high school....ugh....

XD mine is too :P
My voice, too! I always think I sound like a man, so when I hear myself making sarcastic comments in a generally girly voice, it weirds me out!
Luna, geeeeez. I would flip if that happened to me. I'm sorry, hun. That must suck. I hope it happens increasingly less often. Do you have caller ID? If you do and it's a number you don't know, you can do what my dad does.
"Portland Police, Fire, and Medical. Please state your emergency." It kind of makes them go "Bwa, uh, erm, guh".
Lawl. Bob's Used Body Parts. I love that.
ok, they called manga comic books (which deeply irritates me)
I think I like how graphic novels sounds better than comic books, though. xD It sounds more. . Serious? I dunno.
Comic books makes me think, "Oh, America!" while graphic novels makes me think, "Oh, manga/manhwa!"
Lol, you're not pushing me XD I just wasn't sure how panels would work :P
Erotic wood blocks prints, eh? My professor showed us the erotic scrolls :P That was pretty interesting....
XD I need to get my sewing skills to level up- Hooray for sewing class next term!
omg that was so cute!
I loved the part when you were talking to trey on the phone and you asked him prom!
it's really inspiring. I'm kinda in the same situation [never had a boyfriend]
but I'm still just a sophomore and I am actually pretty girly, so who knows what I might be doing wrong
oh well.
Yeah, it is really rare that they work out afterwords for a while. like this couple I know where she's a sophomore and he's a senior who's going off into the army and she got pregnant just so they could have a kid together before he leaves. Only problem is that they fight every other day. And then they're lovey dovey the next. It confuses me as to why people do that. ~le sigh~ :-\
I only know of one relationship that lasted through high school successfully. It was my cousin, and they got married. They're the really rare couple that always seemed as if they had JUST started dating a week ago, though.
Yeah, I know. But she's my friend. And I'll help her out as long as she's happy. Besides, I love prego people. >.< They're so cute. But I'm not supporting the idea!
I suppose my wife and I are one of those rare examples. I met Shelley during our second year of Jr. High. [ . . . ] For the most part we haven't changed. She still draws cute critters, and I still love animation.
It's not that bad... you got to go on Made because of it I guess... x3

D'awww, I'll visit once I get my winter break yo. But have you been learning japanese?

私もアイスクリームはとても美味しいと思いますでもおこのみやきは私の一番好きな食べ物ですよ!
wait disco and rollerskates have gone out? When?I only know of one relationship that lasted through high school successfully. It was my cousin, and they got married. They're the really rare couple that always seemed as if they had JUST started dating a week ago, though.
I suppose my wife and I are one of those rare examples. I met Shelley during our second year of Jr. High. That was when Jr. High was grades 7-9. They actually switched during my first year of High school so I started 10th grade as a second year student. Kind of strange when half the student body is "scrubs". Anyway I met her in the library. She was doing, what most of the artistically inclined among you do while in the library, drawing cute critters on a sketchpad, all hunched over so nobody can see. At the time she was drawing mice (think Disneys Rescuers). This was a few years before the first Rescuers film came out. She also liked drawing cute rabbits, dogs, cats, and other animals. Strangely enough we were introduced by her best friend, and my current girlfriend, Koren. I think Koren was way ahead of her time. Koren was Goth incarnate. Coal black hair, white face, black lipstick, eyeliner, and nail-polish, a red scarf or a leather dog collar, knee high leather boots, and a skirt. This was in 1977-78 when disco and rollerskates where in. Shelley and I started dating in High School graduated together in 1981 and married in 1985. We are still together and doing well, thank you. We have two kids (one of each) the youngest is now in college. For the most part we haven't changed. She still draws cute critters, and I still love animation.
wait disco and rollerskates have gone out? When?
EDIT: HIGH PRIESTESS PIERCING!! WHOOO! I got my eyebrow pierced there! Well, it was in Eugene, but still.
EDIT: HIGH PRIESTESS PIERCING!! WHOOO! I got my eyebrow pierced there! Well, it was in Eugene, but still.
Off -Topic but, High Priestess rock. I go to the one in Corvallis. I even used have my earlobes stretch to almost a inch, but took em out because I eventually need to get a real job. The Eugene crew is cool also. met most of them at there Suspention/BloodPlay Show at John Henrys . The do it every year in March there.
Sorry for going a off topic!
You make a very valid point but keep in mind people sign up for this show. They are expecting to be changed. So they want it change. It doesn't matter if you disagree with it or not, what matters is how the person ON the show feels.

Karma for you, Nikki :)
I'm an anime geek. I recognize this. When I'm not going to work, I'm usually in grunge jeans and a blue shirt with a farmer leading a giant rooster by a rope (get it? Yukyukyuk). But I like dressing up and looking like a barbie doll, if you will. It's nice to be recognized from time to time on a more widely social scale and getting looks from other guys. It's nice. I like to imagine I'm not the only one on this.
I mean, I do love anime, but I don't feel like I have to go out in cosplay every day or wear cosplay hats, anime t-shirts, or only talk about anime. I don't own a cosplay hat, and I don't wear anime shirts. If you came across me in the mall, you'd probably never think I love anime as much as I do.
To be completely honest, neko_goes_nyaaa, your comments sound exactly like the people on the show who were criticizing Luna except on the opposite side. Calling someone a hooker for wearing make up and a flattering dress is pretty extreme. Especially when it's clear she was feeling good at the end of the show. She might not have got her first target, but she found someone she had a little more in common with. I think that's pretty cool.

I want to see "Barbie" (OK I don't remember her real name, sorry, I watched this over a month ago) at an anime convention, looking oh so out of place. THAT! would make it all worth while. ;D Who would we all have her cosplay as? Beldandy from Ah My Goddess? Chii from Chobits? Ino Yamanaka or Temari from Naruto? Any other ideas?

Sorry if it came across as a bit harsh, and I wasn't so much criticizing the girl, moreso what the show was trying to do to her. It seemed as though they wanted to strip off everything about her that made her unique and replace it with what -they- wanted. Who's to say there aren't guys out there who'd totally dig a girl who likes wearing neko caps and watching Full Metal Alchemist? Personally I find normal people to be rather boring. I'd prefer the other person just be who they are rather than change themselves to suit others. Also school and work are two different things, ya can't get ''fired'' from school for wearing anime shirts or having dyed hair, lol.
I really wish they would do that. Maybe a bunch of us should send them emails telling them to do it ;D
I should watch that episode again. It was very entertaining ^_^
they were having auditions at Tigard High School recently.....not sure how that went XD
Hi everyone,I remember watching that
I'm not sure if this has been posted on here before, but apparently MTV showed an episode whose aim to turn the "geeky Anime fan" into a "sexy dating diva."
Pretty well made, straight from Oregon:
http://www.mtv.com/videos/misc/258613/anime-warrior.jhtml#id=1591114
(It's divided into six clips).
Anyone know her? I'm sure she's been to Kumoricon or Sakuracon a few times
Enjoy.
I wish they would do that to me, haha.Pfft, tell me about it. I think I need get on a show like this... XD
I wish they would do that to me, haha. But a show would be more fun. :P
