Just like the title says, let's get A-Key Kyo back to play for 2009! I know the band was willing to play at Kumoricon this year, but it didn't end up happening. I'm sure they'd be up for returning in 2009, so hopefully this can get to the right people and we can all let it be known that this band would be welcomed back and received well again in '09!
If any of you don't know A-Key Kyo because they weren't at Kumoricon this year (and it was your first time), you can check them out here: http://www.akeykyo.com/ (http://www.akeykyo.com/). They are a local Japanese Anime Theme & Pop Cover band, and they are also in the process of writing original music as well. They also frequently play at the Uwajimaya Festivals, so you may have seen them there.

this k-con just wasn't the same without them T.T definitely need to get them back for '09!!

I do believe they will be playing at mew con, I suppose 2009 k-con bands is for the next set of board members to decide.

I have a friend who's been really good friends with the singer for a really long time. They used to work together and stuff. So I can go have lunch with them perhaps and see what's up, yes? :D

Yeah for sure, that'd be sweet. I mean, I'm already sure that on their end they would be down with playing Kumoricon again. I think we need to have Kumoricon people ask them to play though, and not the other way.

Yeah. I'll see if Yumi and I can talk to them sometime. We'll see them at Uwajimaya at least. I'm not sure what I'll be dressed as though. x.x Perhaps I'll wear my black and red fairy outfit with the boots you liked. Ug. I wore those boots all weekend at k-con. x.x

That would be cool, rent an amphitheater in park, then we can have picnic / cosplay meetup / music festival

lol. I saw you. Walked passed you a few times. I was dressed as Axel though, so you probably couldn't see my boots well under my organization coat. x.x I'm just getting feeling back in my toe from those damn boots. lol

If any of you are interested in operating an event in conjunction with Altonimbus Entertainment (Kumoricon), please come to a General Meeting and talk about it! We're interested in spreading Kumoricon over a longer calendar year, with more small events to accent the key parts of the convention itself (stuff like Kumoricon Lite). We own a lot of equipment and we'd love to use it more than 7 or 8 days out of the 365 we're given each year!

That's great to hear. It would be pretty sweet to have more off-season events. I'll try to make it to a meeting one of these times.

I'd be happy to staff a musical event too. Music's my other love. (up there with video games; at Kumoricon I'd play the piano whenever I got time off or got stressed out)

yeah, that was when i brought those strawberry pocky cupcakes and all those random people came up and took them like i just brought them for strangers... >.< lesson learned, cupcakes and treats now travel in closed boxes to public events...

maybe i'll make more for this coming up festival. but a different flavor. and i will take them in inconspicuous looking cardboard boxes so i can actually have some left to give to the band, because that was my original intention the last time... *shakes fist* stupid people!! *sigh* the past is past and i learned a lesson, moving on now... lol. any flavor suggestions???
