Maybe someone has already posted this, but I signed my meetup group up for ADV's 'anime ADVocates' and I got my first package yesterday!!They sent a dvd with 5 complete episodes from 5 different shows and there were a bunch of trailers as well. The package also had some other *cool* goodies.
So, if you have a club (sponsored by a college, school, library) or maybe they can send stuff for a CON as well... anyway, here is the link:

enjoy.
and just FYI: I didn't get any email confirmations or anything after I signed up. I just got the package about a week after I signed up my group. Pretty cool.

It's shitty that we have to be sponsored by somebody who will undoubtedly try to censor what it is that we watch. Man, I was hoping I could get some free schwag for Vanime . . . hrm!
-
Hehe.. you don't have to you know. :P Besides, I have gotten many sponsorships for my LAN gaming club. If there's someone that you want as a sponsor, most of the time if you hunt through their site they're either going to have an application for sponsorship, or an email address to PR... get in touch with them and tell them what your club is all about. I have rarely been turned down, and the times I have it was just because I didn't have enough members :( darn Corsair... 200 people.. bleh...

I hope the paperwork for TUNAC goes thru and we get approved, so ADV will send us stuff.
-
it would be pretty cool to see the kind of responce that +1000 lan partys get
-
uhmmm if I had that kind of attendance people would be begging me for ad space and such... 1000+ gamers looking at someones stuff = lots of $$ in potential sales for them. I would probably get like 50 t-shirts and almost as many cases from Bawls if I had that kind of attendence. I'm sure ATI would offer some better stuff too. *drool* I wish...
-
lol but do any of them even use hotel rooms all the ones i have seen people were going for days on end on bawls and moutain dew

Actually it would seem most of them either use space on campuses or rent out large convention centers. Of course, it makes no difference to the sponsors hehe. We run all of ours on campus, it's ultra convenient since we get a large space reserved for us every month with all of the equipment we need for free hehe.
-
what campus is that? my rig right now is a lan virgin and needs a breakin in

I just found another place that will sponsor clubs through FUNimation:
http://www.operationanime.com
I applied like 3-4 days ago and got a response back today. They send your club a dvd each month for the club to review and keep as well as big discounts to the funimation store. pretty sweet.

here are some more sites I found. I got my club accepted at the media-blasters one. I signed up at the Bandai one today, so I probably won't hear from them until later.
enjoy!
