She's not on the forums to my knowledge; but I'll email her for you. What she wrote was in pencil, so I don't think it would scan well (on lined grey paper, no less). But perhaps she'd type it up for you.
If she does, could you scan your art, and then we could ideally put both up together on the forthcoming Creation Station website and perhaps link them here as well? Seriously both were superb--and fit together perfectly.

Karen is like the queen of this category; she won it the first time we held it--Sakuracon'06--with a fic called (I think) The Mirror, that encapsulated the energy of the art by Audrey Utz.

Meantime your work is even more detailed and exquisite than last year! I hope you realize it's kind of a hint from me that I picked out manga paper as among your prizes from the CS for this year!
*prods*
If you've thought of writing manga--but don't have experience in writing dialogue--you really should consider hooking up with Karen, or one of our other Creation Station authors and betas (editors) (I'd love to help!).

Which leads in to my plug:
The Creation Station this year started our Beta and Writer board, for folks to network and make connections towards future creative projects, in and out of con. If interested post here or PM me and I'll connect you with Kate, our staff coordinating this project.

Here I am.

Where would be the best place to put it; here, fanfiction, or in my LiveJournal?

I've studied panelling, toning, perspective, dialogue, and almost every aspect of eastern AND western comics I can think of, but I'm such a perfectionist that I can't even START any manga because it (the first page I draw) isn't up to my standards. I do love hearing other peoples' stories, though, and I prefer doing requests for peoples' characters rather than commissions.
Heh, you should see how much I've improved since the con, and it's only been a week! I'll scan my latest picture and send it to you! ^^

What's the chance I could get both of you to send me your pieces of that awesome collaboration that emerged through our Art-Into-Fic contest?

And Wade--did any of the improvement since con that you mentioned involve your new manga paper, how-to book, and Copic ink pen? *hopes*

:)

I'm a pencil sketch artist. My cg skills are less than nothing, so my basic coloring process goes like this:
1. Sketch a pic in my sketchbook. I've been using the same black mechanical pencil for like 3 years now.
2. Ink said picture on the same paper with Copic Multiliner, my ONLY choice, so what you got me was perfect! ^^  But it's pretty much Draw Draw, Die (XD) when I ink; there's no undo button if I mess up.
3. Scan the inked picture and copy it onto Copic marker paper, so what you got me was perfect again! ^^  I usually ink it again after it's on the marker paper.
4. I use Prismacolor pencils when I color. They can blend from yellow to purple flawlessly, especially on marker-only paper for some reason. They don't have that solid chromatic cg look, but it's not the spotty crayon texture either. It's a look as original as what I call anime.
Yeah, so I save that good stuff for my truely epic pieces. I'll send you all something in the near or not so near future ^^;;  What do I call anime, you ask? http://s283.photobucket.com/albums/kk288/ruinedmirage/?action=view&current=mermaid.jpg
I melt whenever I look at those eyes I drew! T_T
