hay my mom opening a bakery and well she want to get as most money as she can i gave her the idea of making it maid cafe style with anime themeds stuff she liked the idea but the bakerys in going to be in Oregon city and well she think no ones going to come well if you think it a good idea and you would come sing the petition.

I posted in the other one, but this would be awesome to work at. I have my food handlers card, and have been driving for over a year.
Business' usually require you to have had your license for over a year before they let you drive their things around.
I'm 18, and not going to school for a while! I'll sign the petition no prob!

A name? Well, researching Maid Cafe's to get an idea of how to tone it down or tone it up to the right interest of people might be a good idea. And the name could have to do with the theme of the Cafe. My mother owns a business, and she named it after the theme, or something that she really likes. In this case, it's cats.
So she named her business Bad Kitties, and the theme is cats.

Well you could always swap cafe with bakery. But it still doesn't sound very creative. You should ask her for some ideas on what she wants the name to be, so then you would have something to go off of.

Theme's would be fun, although it might be a little expensive to buy the outfits. And as for a name, should it be a Japanese name, an American one, or something completely different? I'm thinking more American, since it will probably draw more customers then if the advertisement was in a different language.

Well pastel colors are always nice, but you don't want to go overboard and make it look like a nursey room.
If you want, you could do a French design, such as this:

I actually asked my mom and she said that she'd let me work there.
I'd be able to work everyday until school starts on the 2nd but then I'd be able to work the weekends and or after school ^_^

The really light pastel colors would probably go nicely with the autmosphere, considering that it would be a cute place to begin with, you wouldn't want dark colors.

Since you're going for all-over appeal, I caution against using anything too nich-y, like Otaku Bakery, since it might turn people not "in the know" away. I suck at coming up with titles...but yeah, I recommend something everyone will think sounds cute and inviting.
Color-wise, it seems like a lot of white/cream/like pink is in order, maybe with accents of green or blue? I tend to like pastel colors myself, but you don't want to go overboard...

My Japanese History class had the class watch a show about Japan and anime. All these salary men were really embarrassed that they had been found out that they cosplayed or made doujin. From what my professor told me, the stipulation really came about in the 80's or early 90's when a serial killer was captured and found out that he had an obsession with some anime (I'm not sure which one). From then on, and it's faded out since from what I can tell, "otaku" was not a good term to be called.
How about rather than one or the other, you suggest the Paris Hilton route and have a Maid night each week? For each Saturday, the employees can dress as maids. That way she can have the normal, Parisian style bakery or whatever that she wants, and you can have the cosplay style. She might be more open to that idea or something. That way, if your workers are uncomfortable wearing a maid outfit, they can opt out.
If you're looking for decoration ideas, La Provence in Lake Oswego is a Provencal themed cafe with a large lavender field mural based off of the Provence region in France. It's got awesome break and delicious cakes. That might give her a few hints. It's pretty popular, too. They start baking at 5AM, though XD

No. It doesn't work like that. You have to pay to put a commercial on. There's also the cost of making a commercial. The Obama campaign paid $5 million for a commercial slot during the Olympics. It's spendy, but you'll definitely get the word out. If you can spare the cost if you go for it, it'd be worth it.

If you're on I-205 heading towards Clackamas, and you're in West Linn, it's the city across from the river. It's got a weird elevator and also has the three GINORMOUS covered wagons for the Oregon Trail Museum. It's about... 10 miles south of I-5 or Tualatin.

lol ya commercials make you seem like your desperate for business. learned that in class that's why most of the best restaurants anywhere never have commercials because they're so good people just keep talking about them and word spreads. i know that's what will happen to this cafe... it will kick butt :P

alot of businesses more than likely wouldnt allow you to sell the goods at their locations. its really weird. they will allow girl scouts and boy scouts to sell cookies and whatnot but not our college anime club to advertise and just pass out pocky.
as for fundraisers... find a place that would allow a bake sale, car wash like you said....

both of those ideas are actually pretty good. at my restaurant we kinda have a thing where kids design their own pizza. and my god they sell like crazy. so ya if you want to attract a semi large crowd the design your own pastry would be a good idea.

But we would have to end up reserving something along the lines of a room right? Or we could use the Bakery as a "runway" but I'm not sure. And how to charge people as well...hmmmm
well you could use the cafe as a runway... and well i guess you couldnt really charge people. but i guess you could accept donations =D

True, donations are dandy but maybe we could throw something along with the "COSPLAY SHOW" if we end up doing it.
How about Make your own cookie designs? people could frost their cookies etc.etc into designs they want...?

We could also charge a few dollars for those people who want to take pictures with the "dressed up" staff (that's how Japan maid cafes get extra money.)
both of those ideas are actually pretty good. at my restaurant we kinda have a thing where kids design their own pizza. and my god they sell like crazy. so ya if you want to attract a semi large crowd the design your own pastry would be a good idea.

I can ask around, but usually this a quantity of attires such as this you should purchase them (I THINK) because with the seamstress she would have to make so many, and it would be stressful on her, and pricey no doubt.
But anyway we look at this, the attires are going to be pricey probably : [[

Maybe we should purchase the maid attires from online, because with commissions, most of them are expensive when it comes to maid attires, lace/layers etc.etc.
$85 - $100 isn't that bad, but a little pricey I will say. DX But better than more than that right?

Having visions of the different anime charas that work in bakerys. It would almost be interesting to just have the anime character of the week, instead of always using a maid. Of course, if it is work attire, that is different. I just had Kiki from Kiki's Delivery service run through my head. Kawaii!!
You don't throw wooden scewers and have a ramen shop across the street do you? Working there could get dangerous. :P
Then of course there is an entire anime dedicated to making bread. Hmm.
The Haibane worked in a bakery as well. Watch out for using the circular cake pan for halo manufacture if you get any of those people working for you. ;D

I wish I lived close. I would come and purchase stuff from your mom. Being male, with a beard and moustache, I doubt that you would want me in a maid outfit. I would scare away the customers. I don't really fit the role of a combat butler either. (sigh)

my mom will own it Wednesday and start working there Wednesday but late Oct or middle Nov is when we are to redo the place to a maid cafe style so we are having the opening then and next week we will start sell anime cookies and cakes

ok so there is no and wont be and job opening for a while and we anrt going to change the name and i been they its a cute old French / English and we don't have uniforms there and my mom want to kept it like that cues 3 of the other people who work there are part timers and 2 are in there 50 and 1 i think 40 or 30 and we have a baker and a that one person who disans stuff so pleases stop asking if we have an opening or i you can work there i have a list of people and we have no openings right now sorry
