Title: Hey P-towners! Want a *FREE* J-Rock magazine? ^^
Post by: neko_goes_nyaaa on August 04, 2008, 04:27:20 pm
The Hot Topic in Loyd Center now carries "Five-For" magazine. It is an english print Japanese Rock magazine similar in quality to purpleSKY. They are giving away free sample magazines at the Hot Topic in Loyd Center Mall in Portland. I'm sure other Hot Topic's in the local region will start carrying them too, since Five-For itself is locally based and operated. The free issue that is being given away has a Q&A interview with MUCC as well as interviews with Girugamesh and Miyavi. Go pick one up if you haven't already!

Hmmm, that's pretty sweet. Thanks for the heads up. I haven't been inside a Hot Topic since I worked there (because I am totally bitter for getting laid off, lol), but I'll have to go back and check this out. ^_^

Understandable, and the japanese magz do tend to have better photos, but I kinda like being able to understand the interviews. And since Purple Sky mag ceased opperations after their March issue with Versailles on the cover, Five-For is a welcomed replacement. And they're local, which means I can pester them to pimp Portland to the bands whom they interview until they get annoyed and tell me to STFU. ^o^

I dunno, it's nice to actually know things about bands instead of just appreciate their collective or individual aesthetic qualities, lol

It's hard for me to remember names of band members (whether it's American, Japanese, or whatever) so I tend to avoid learning names unless I totally LOVE the band *cough*MERRY*cough*
