SALUTATIONS, FELLOW CONGOERS!
[: I had an awesome time today at the picnic, and here's just a general open invite for something occuring in the future. On August 13 (8/13-- you got it right, Kingdom Hearts fandom, it's Axel/Roxas day!), myself and some friends, namely Sarah (mirithespazz) and Missy, the Axel to my Roxas, are going to be having a massive show-off-our-cosplays-and-or-finish-them-up-photoshoot-thing!
That is to say, on August 13th we're having a nerd herd meetup. Anyone interested? Send me a message or contact me on aim - 'aixkiraixjisatsu' is the sn. Further details (such as location) will be ironed out depending on who'd be interested in coming.

EDIT THE SECOND: Okay, with only a few days left until 8/13 and not that many RSVP's, it's come time to make decisions about the locations. The workshop is going to be at my house - email me for the address (aijisatsu@gmail.com) - and the photoshoot is going to be downtown in the Park Blocks. Photoshoot-ers and workshoppers are going to meet up at SW Park and Market, near PSU, and we're going to migrate from there as weather and photo desires allow.

Yeah, I still have a lot to do on Roxas, too. It's a combination photoshoot/work-on-costumes day, so if you want to work on it with us, that would be cool. I bet that my Axel is going to be putting finishing touches on, too.

I'm a little confused about what you mean by 'when it started showing up online.' If I took the question literally, then I'd have to say probably at about the same time that the game was released, because the Org members in-game are referred to by number before you know their identities...

The Gundam Wing fandom refers to characters by a number system as well and when we started seeing KH stuff referring to characters by numbers we had WTF moment. Its just kinda funny I guess.

Seems like a lot of fandoms do... I've never seen Gundam Wing (only Gundam SEED), but apparently Katekyo Hitman Reborn! does it too? Or one of those K fandoms. Kyou Kara Maou, Katekyo Hitman Reborn!-- they all get mixed up for me. xDD
Kingdom Hearts 2 = vastly superior to KH1, by the way.

Anyways! My friends and I have kinda made a not-tradition of this day XD last year we made AkuRoku Paopu Cakes aka cupcakes we decorated with an akuroku theme XD and we were all excited for this year! but alas, due to complications my friend will be in mississppi for it DX
I would love to come to this but sadly I live in Eugene and wouldnt be able to make the commute to anywhere due to work >< So have fun guys! and to the 6/13 shipper, YES! I am not alone.

But uh.. should it be somewhere in Portland? It should be somewhere in the middle for everyone. Portland isn't middle for me, but not many people live where I do, so I usually end up with the short end of the stick. ~ ~

I live in Dundee, which is three towns away from Tigard. So, pretty out there.
But Portland isn't hard to get to, it just takes a little while. I drive, so getting there wouldn't be a problem.

If nearly everyone lives south of Portland, then why not have it at Cook Park in Tigard? Wednesday is perfect for me to come! I only work on weekends. If this is a (camera) shoot and build party, this will be great to work on my Future Trunks...though I have no skit or tournament to work towards anymore.T_T

Although, meeting in a smaller city type setting might be preferable.
Also, if this is a cosplay workshop, we would need a place for that, and being in a park would be bad for that. So, either we meet somewhere else, or we meet at the (a?) park and then move somewhere else for the workshop.

HI EVERYBODY OMIGOD I TTLY SUCK ABOUT REPLYING TO THESE THINGS. I haven't been getting notifications for threads I'm watching asdjklfhaksldf. ;__; orz.
Okay. I live in SW Portland, about ten minutes south of the city. Most of the people who I know for certain are coming live in the general Portland vicinity as well... But I realise that not everyone will, so. What I was thinking is this: Cosplay workshop should happen first, in the morning, and that can be (probably) at my house (depending on how many people intend to come). The photoshoot should happen second, in the afternoon, because afternoon light is vastly superior to morning light in terms of photography, at least generally speaking, and that should be the part that moves around because more people will want to attend the photoshoot than the workshop, imo.
So, because I'm slightly OCD.
ATTN. EVERYONE WHO INTENDS ON ATTENDING THE PHOTOSHOOT: Send me an email with your address and/or general location (whichever is preferable) and I'll map it out and find a place that will work well for everyone. Thank you!

XD It's alright, it doesn't have to be KH-related. It's on 8/13, that is August 13, hence the "Axel/Roxas day" thing... Not sure about time yet, but it's likely that the workshop will be in the morning and the photoshoot will be in the afternoon.

Actually, Trunks really has nothing to do with any of the top anime or game series. He's the last of a dying breed (everyone else was destroyed by the androids :( ) trying to fit in.
And since I don't know enough of Naruto, Bleach, Death Note, or FF7 AC (yet), or own Kingdom Hearts II to even play it (or the working PS2 for any games at all), I can only call on the old school goodness. Part of the reason why I don't watch/play is because I'm wanting to make my own anime and manga so bad but lack the people or resources to do it. I'd only be watching what I hope to someday dominate or at least match. Hope it didn't seem like I went super saiyan just now.

XD If you get off at the Pioneer Square MAX stop and just walk up two blocks, and then walk down Park towards Burnside, you'd get there.

Lmao! An Orgy cloak is just short for Organization cloak, as in Organization XIII from Kingdom Hearts. It's not as exciting as it sounds.

For those taking the Max train, just get off at the Library/SW 9th Ave MAX Station and walk .4 miles south.

I don't know Portland very well, but is it over by PSU at all? I know Market street eventually leads up to the College.

Actually, the intersection of Park and Maket is extremely close to PSU.
If you go to Yahoo! maps and enter Portland State University into the location search field, Park Ave. is the street immediately before the one you turn on to go to PSU.
It looks like when you're driving/walking down Market St. towards PSU, there will be a park area on your right, and that will be where we are meeting.
At 2:00, because we need to finalize these plans. Sorry if I seem...Harsh or something. ): @_@;
