OK Gang, I would like some suggestions for a new AMV contest category. I have 3 pretty much picked:
[1] Action& Technical Effects
[2] Traditional Japanese
[3] <<THIS IS WHERE WE NEED A NEW CATEGORY >>
and [4] Comedy.
We are still in flux with EXACT definitions of these categories, plus I want the show + voting to happen within 1 hour. (By the way, many thanks to several volunteers; they were able to tally the votes for me during the show following the contest and I was VERY impressed with how fast it went. You guys were great!)
ACTION and COMEDY tend to be higher energy categories, and just about everyone expects some kind of Drama / Romance slot. I am intrigued by the notion of 'Traditional Japanese' as one new kind of AMV category, and I am looking for another NEW kind of category which can be somewhat lower on energy and ka-pow effects, but not an outright snoozer, and also not an AMV stock-footage dumpyard.

Also, per public comment, Best Technical is now an Overall award. (one winner chosen from all entrants in al categories.) And no, that does -not- mean the prize is a pair of OshKosh overalls.
