Daxe and I thought it would be a fun idea to play the spam games during the meet-up. For example, the "What comes to your mind game" and the "Favorites" game. ^__^

And thus I resurrect my idea of "KumoriForums: The Musical!" where all the main forumsters wear sandwich boards with their avatars on them, holding big signs that have the "post" button on them, and there is a giant ball or something bouncing between people, representing posts, and umm....there's music and singing too....lol

Like a magical math equation you run your post count through and an award for the people who get closest to the target number.

OK, I have a great idea for the cupcakes. We make it a game!
Make each cupcake have a meme reference on it! Like one for RickRoll and one for SPARTA and one for THE GAME (and how I just made everyone lose). Then at the panel you can hold them up and the first person to guess wins that cupcake and is out of the contest. Continue until everyone wins one! Yummy!

That or something similar.... like we bring a mask and we change all our icons to pictures of us wearing the same mask.
The effect is that suddenly the forum is taken over by people with near identical icons!
Mask candidates: Mudkip, Guy Fawkes, the kumori girl, last year's chibi kumori, a random google image we vote on in a spam poll before the convention...

that way we're ALL in each others' icons and you don't just end up with a tiny picture of a blurry group, but a weird blur of people that you might be able to recognize.
We must immediately begin experimenting with animated gifs and figure out how much footage we can cram in!

I would so want to get in on this just for the heck of confusing everyone with who the hell I am because I won't have Copics in my mouth. I'll bring my video camera and maybe cake (I make out-of-box cakes... But I decorate really well!) if I can fit it in the car after everything else gets shoved in! If all else fails the cake can go on top of the car with the sitar.

If we're lucky, both the forum meet up panel and the Pocky Club panel will be a little later in the day this year.
Basically one of the panels will have to be up against the AMV Contest. I'd rather it be the Forum meet-up than Pocky Club but you guys know which one I'm gonna choose. The trade off is that we'll be in a bigger room and we'll have the projector. That's really important for the forum meet up panel after all.
It's pending the surrounding panels right now.

Having a projector in the forum meet up panel means that we can actually LOOK at forum posts during the meet up.
Or at least look at screenshots.
It also means that we can play youtube videos and look at funny pictures.
I might ask the hotel if I can pay for them to turn on the room's projector and charge it to my room. I doubt they can do that with all the crazy contracts but I think it would be worth the money.

OK, I've come up with a couple of different contests for this panel. One is secret.
I'm trying to decide on a kind of art contest for us to do.
I'm a big fan of motivational posters and lolcats. Maybe we could have a Kumoricon or forum themed macro contest, in the spirit of icanhaskcon.

The forum meet up panel is just what it sounds like. A chance to meet the crazy people on the Kumoricon forums. We're going to be doing a couple of the activities I listed to fill time and break the ice. We can't officially bring normal snack to panels since the hotel wants to cater. So the cupcakes are planned to be specialized based on internet jokes and stuff we say on the forums a lot. Cupcakes were chosen because of the pictures (page 4 I think) and because they're cheaper and easier than one big cake. Also, less mess and easier to share.
The big list was a bunch of stuff that I thought could be drawn on top of a cupcake in some way.

Make a regular sheet cake, but cut it so that it has to be served in one long piece, like put it on the cardboard they use for those giant party subs. Then make sure that you draw longcat on it.
I'd suggest yellowcake with chocolate icing and vanilla icing for longcat.
Otherwise make the Portal cake.

Yeah, most hotels insist that you let them cater events if you are needing normal food. Cookies are something the Doubletree cooks tons of, and I know they had other baked goods.
See, the panel is for us to get together and hang out and talk about forum stuff. The cupcakes were brought in as a way of referencing online jokes. I'm not asking people to bring tons of snacks and have a party because that'd put too much tension between the con and the hotel. That's bad.
However if people just "show up" with food there's nothing that can be done.
I think that you should keep the cupcakes a secret and you should see how many references we can figure out.

It's not a contest so much as it is a random spammer award. I will be taking the registration numbers for the convention at the time of the panel and comparing them to a print out of post counts made earlier that day. The person who is closest (either with the exact number or the same digits in a different order) will win the prize.

The second contest is not based on your badge number. It's based on the total registration for the convention at the time of the panel and your forum posts. I don't expect anyone to have 3000+ posts by the time the con hits, however I'll be looking at the other digits to see what matches up the best.

Well, meg won't have a fridge in her room, but she'll have a cooler. I am planning to stow my cupcakes (and frosting and decorations) in her room because we will be doing frosting and decorations at the last possible minute because we don't want transporation issues with frosted cupcakes. Bob says he's gonna bring a mini fridge, so we should figure out if it's okay to put it in meg's room. I think that's the gist of it.

Heh, I have been busy taking care of other con business. Like Youtubes.
I don't like to be using the internet when I have things uploading or DVDs burning. It uses resources I want focused on the job. In a little while I'll hve all that stuff taken care of and I'll make a triumphant return. ;)
Also, I got a new Mac at work and spent last week putting all my files and bookmarks back in. My work mac is my goof off machine since most of our tools are PC only.

No Mustash, see, it doesn't sound to bad in MY department. We're all techies helping people fix photoshop files. The other departments will crush your could as you edit website advertisements, do customer service for unpopular online games, do tech support for low end PCs, or maybe even do technical support for digital cable. We even have a team doing support for paper products. I am very lucky to be in my department, we have the only Macs in the building.

You know, I was only at this panel for about ten minutes this year, because my friend was trying to meet up with someone to get some manga. But after I left, I was really disappointed I didn't stay. ;.; So I'm definitely going to stay the whole time this year! I promise. ^v^
And Tom had made those cute pins. ;.; He had one with the L logo on it and I was like 'ZOMG'. He kept asking who had the L as their avatar, and it didn't click. I still don't know if he was talking about me or not. x.x Lol.
By the way Tom, I think I saw you at Unique Imports about a few weeks ago. o.o Than again, perhaps I'm just going crazy.
