My dad said he would let me go Ice skateing most likely on saturday the 29th
great option for people who arent going because too expensive or the prices of gas, ect...
Probably will spring for a second date for the people who didnt go because they got to go to the sakura con. :D

Ice skating is fun, but only for so long. At least for me. Half hour would do it, before I got bored. I can only go around in a circle keeping my balance on ice for so long. e.e;

This is actually a pretty good idea. You just need pretty dedicated people (& durable cosplays in case you fall) I've actually gone ice skating with a mini Loveless group (just Ritsuka-me, Seimei, Soubi) we all had lots of fun 8D

Well, skate rinks are open year-round, I think, so we could go whenever. And we could go more than once! ^^ I'd love to go sometime (though I don't live in Portland >> ) but the main issue would be money, as I have no ice skates or money and would need to get some. ^^;;

I think both sherwood and lloyd center charge $9 total for admission and skate rental. Personally I perfer lloyd center cause it's warmer, but I'm ok with either of them.

If it's happening at the Sherwood Ice Arena, I will most uber-definitely make an appearance. I live REALLY close to it, like say...a 10 min walk, since I live in Sherwood, just down the way from it.
Just give me the time, day and what to bring to it. I'm not sure about skating on the ice though. I've only roller skated, not roller bladed so, yeah. I have walked on the Loyd Center ice with normal shoes on. I'm sure if I was taught a brief 101 on how to ice skate that Trunk's denim jacket and jeans would catch his fall. Though it would be kinda cold for Ryu so he'll be staying home in my closet. But yeah, bring it! Whether here at home in Sherwood or up at Loyd Center ice, expect me to show or die trying. 8)

It would be harder for lyod center and sherwood hasnt seen us crazy people yet so I REALLY want to stick with sherwood
IF any of you are not going to Sakura I will be going down to sherwood to ice skate sometime during that weekend.

I guess if you're doing it during Sakura-con, it won't really matter in my case, but it'd still be nice to know.

The MAX doesn't have a line out to Sherwood (yet, hoping), but the Tri-Met 12 does go from Portland to Sherwood. You get off of the stop by Shari's then walk across the street to Walgreens and the rink is right behind it.
But yeah, other than ice skating and cosplay Ice skating, what else could be had in mind?

My only concern for time is the fact that I'm coming from another convention in Portland/Vancouver, and I have a few small tournaments that I want to play in up there, but I want to know which ones I would have to miss to come back home and rock with you cool people on ice. (cool, ice=failed pun attempt) I've never been in the ice arena since it was built, so yeah, a big opportunity for all of us. So, yeah times from when to when and mall from when to when would be nice to post ASACP (as soon as comfortably possible).

Uhh I'm still not sure. We will probably be Iceskateing from noon to at least 3 or mabey a little earlier and the mall is still a mabey too. But if We did it would be from when ever we get done Ice skateing to about 5 or 6

I hardly ever get to go to that mall so I would be likely to be there a while, the good thing about being there a long time is more people will have the chance to go. ^_^

I've re-worked my weekend, and I'm thinking of just going to the first day of the convention, Friday. Then on Saturday save up my energy for the skating and mall maul. How is everyone getting to these places. I know I'm walking to the ice arena and getting a ride/bus-ing it to the mall. Another reason for asking is because if anyone wants to continue the fun, I'm going to an all ages game party with friends in Tigard right after the mall invasion. Everyone's welcome to come to it. There would be a few video games and board games, some card games, and of course food. And actually, if everyone wanted to take a lunch break after skating, there's a park just down the way from where I live closeby to hang out at and maybe have a picnic before moving out to Washington Square. Just a few thoughts and suggestions.

Sounds like a cosplay accessory raid/shop. Unless anyone else from Sherwood's going, I might end up being the group's tour guide as far as afterward goes. There are two parks in Sherwood. The first one is, like I said, just down the way from my house and McDonalds. The second one, which is a longer journey into old town, is the bigger Stella Olsen park, complete with picnic cover and even a stage.
Another question would be, do anyone who's going have an extra seat in their car for me to ride up to Washington Square? Otherwise I'd have to take the bus and would miss over half the fun. Just wondering.
Also to answer your wig problem, try tying a tiny string over the top and down to your chin. Even better, if a girl's doing it (more likely) use a ribbon and tie a bow at the top. That way it doesn't just secure it, it adds to the whole image! :D

Alright everyone, here is my good news my bad news and my challenge:
My good news is that I have the possible clearance of going to the skating here in Sherwood. ;D
The bad newses are that I might not make it there right away, or at all in time :(. Second, Stella Olsen park needs an appointment with the city to have a picnic there, plus a fee. So if a picnic at all, we would have to have it at the park down the street from my house.
Here's my challenge 8). Does anyone live in the Portland area, preferably north Portland, and would they be able to pick up another soul on their way down to Sherwood? Unless the bus does it's magic, though it might take an hour or two to get here, I'm in Vancouver at a game convention. I know I'm split between the two places, I don't want to miss too much of the con, but also...this is the first anime event to hit my home town. So if anyone would be able to backtrack, or even meet me part of the way like downtown at Pioneer Courthouse Square (I would have a bright "Inuyasha red" hoodie on) or someplace, I would appreciate the help. My best gap in the convention on Saturday would be from about 12:00 and be back up before 5:00. I know it's a big request, and at the end of the month as it is I'm scraping for funds, so I can't provide immediate gas money until the beginning of April. :-[
If after trying everything I don't make it like I promised, I apologize now for it. If I do make it down through someone's help, I apologize now in advance for asking them to go out of their way.

Well I found the public skateing times
It is 1:00 to 4:00
So I think It would be good to meet outside the building at 2:00
I will be there at 1:00 most likely and if anyone does manage to get there by then they can join me and my two? (maby just one) friend for food at the ice rink.
and scratch the picnic Idea ((sorry but if we skate at 1:oo to 4:00 we need fuel lol))
at 3:30 or 4:00 we could head to party city and washington square.
and turbosaian I could as my mom if she could include you on the ride to party city. Washington square is just across the way so we could all probably walk. after that you would be on your own.

No worries. Also I found out on Fri that it takes from 45 min to an hour to get from Sherwood to Vancouver, and since my mom is able to take me now, I'll be able to be down here from Vancouver at around 1:00. My cosplay is going to be a semi finished Future Trunks. I figured it would be too cold wearing just a karate gi as Ryu. So I don't need someone to break their backs giving me a ride down and back. And because I want to head back up to Vancouver before 5:00, if the mall is out, then that's alright with me. ;D Hope to see as many of everyone there.

I came from home to the ice arena after sleeping in instead of from Vancouver.
I saw B-Rose as Aerith and a Sasuke there. All in all I saw 4 people plus myself show up. I stuck around and chatted for a bit but decided not to skate for the last 2 of the 4 hours since I got there at around 2:00.
And I conquered when I went back up for day 2 at GameStorm.
And as for my skit going well, I've altered it a little bit. I'm trying to make it a purely Dragonball GT skit. So instead of android 17 and 18, I'm thinking of using 17 and Super 17. If I can get someone to be Pan, that would be good. The rest is the same as before.
Hope everyone had fun that came. Anything I missed?
