8D Me and two of my friends are going as Haruhi(Me), Yuki(Bianca), and Mikuru(Haley) from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. We are going to be doing the dance that is in the ending credits f=of the show, Hare Hare Yukai.
It's going to be awesome.

I think there is going to be the skit things next year right????/
Even if not it's going to be fun to dance in the hallway!!!!

The skits happen during the cosplay contest, and yes there will absolutely be a cosplay contest with skits this year. It's one of the biggest events every year, and I know the staffers involved are plotting it out like mad little plot bunnies. ^_^

Most likely no. I don't have a lot of money to have someone make me a costume, and I have no prowess with making costumes myself. Plus, I'm on staff, so I'll probably be helping to make sure no one I'm in charge of is dying from exhaustion at that time. ^_^

There's going to be a form for the cosplay contest eventually. I'm sure that once it's up we'll make sure everyone knows.

Ha, I've been watching Haruhi and thought that would be a blast to do that with a 5-person group cosplay. I just figured it would be near impossible to gather a group that big. At least for me, anyway.
I'd suggest the possibility of making a school uniform for Kyon and joining in, but my Para Para experience is limited to Para Para Paradise, and in any case you probably don't want an old fart in his 20s joining in. :roll: Not to mention you probably live in Portland. Even though I was on the founding team of Kumori Con, it sometimes feels like there's only a handful of us living down here in Eugene.
Can I assume you have the full dance video, then, which shows all the moves?

AHEM.... someone in their 20s is not "an old fart"!!! (if that's an "old fart", then what 'bout those of us in our 30s & 40s? eh??? ) :P
Cosplay rules and forms are going through the approval process. As soon as they're ready, we'll let you know. Keep your eye on the "Cosplay Chat" section...that's where I'll announce their availability as soon as they're up on the website. :D

really? because I wanted the men to be in it, but I don't really have a lot of male friends at my school who like anime. So if you want too we can try to get you in it 8D

XD, well I have a video of all the dance moves, but it's not anime, it's real people doing it but it's easy to see all the movies, and if you want to be in it we can try to put you in XD,
because I really want to have the guys in it!!

Hmm... okay. I have the animated version; it's the same as the ending credits except it doesn't cut away from the dancers at all. :) Yours is probably more useful for actually learning the dance, but I bet you'd enjoy seeing the animated video, too. By the way, is the live action video full-length (4-5 minutes), or just TV-length (about 1:30)?
I'm not sure about actually participating... largely because it'd mean a new costume. Yeah, the guy's uniform looks pretty simple, but I've found that school uniforms usually look simpler than they really are. Maybe I'm just being paranoid. >.>;

The T-shirt embroidery stand at the local mall could probably stitch the school emblem in a heartbeat, too. I must admit, Kyon is definitely among my favorite characters in recent anime. :) I'll consider it, 'k?

...Actually, I wasn't really serious; hence the eye-rolling. ;) I just sometimes feel antsy hanging around people young enough that I could be their guardian. In the past, I've preferred to meet the parents, just so there aren't any "misconceptions." Bleh.

2 so far ;.; I'm trying to get more but all the people I know that want to do it aren't going to the con and the ones I do know who are going....are too embarrassed to learn XD I'm tempted just to go in front of our schools anime club and just start forcing people to dance with me lmao XD

If you did that dressed as Haruhi it would be 100% in character. ;) For the guys, be sure to drag them by the tie if any of them are wearing one at the time!

Kay, but first, I'm going to see what I can about seeing it once again before giving a final "okay" on my participation. I have a friend who has a fan-subbed version, plus I heard that the official English-voiced-dubbed version will make its "debut" at Sakura-con, which I'm planning on going to.
