Hi, my friend and I are thinking about cosplaying from Bleach, and I was wondering if anyone else is planning too as well.
I want to go as yachiru
and my friend is going as Kenpachi

how are you planning on doing the wig with the bells?

I haven't really thought about it that much yet. I talked to my friend and told him we could attach foamies to a headband, that way the hairline would be accurate, but he thought that sounded silly and wanted to actually style a wig...
have any good ideas?

yeah ive seen it done with foam before, it looks pretty good from far away but when you get all up ons it looks a little ramshakle.
i would attack the situation with a good starting wig. then buy like three or more cans of aqua net (they come in really big cans are basically shelac and are like 1.50 at freddies) and just got at it with that and a hairdryer (the dryer is key you can wait for it to dry) making sure to get a good base ready before you do the rest of the spike. i imight even employ some amount of stabalizer like inderfacing or maybe foam stuffs (made to be black) along the backs of the spikes. but keeping it light is the first priority, cause even though it more stabilization would make the spikes stronger you MIGHT run into some issue with them not wanting to stay up, bending from the base of the wig, even if not the actual body of the spike bending.
then somehow attach the bells after the wig was otherwise done. probably winding a bit of thread arround the tippy tip of the spike first and then attatching the bell to that.
also you wouldne really have to do that many spikes since in side shots they do seem to be comming back fronm the front/top area of his head, and you could just cut the rest of the wig relatively short and smooth it down. you would loose that jigjaggy headline, but i think that the overall effect would still be there and be awesome.
but thats just what i would do.

hehe first off I know you totemo, you know me as the one who got a haircut XD. If you don't remember me now, I'm sad ; ;. (yes we goto the same school) ehem anyway, yes totemo is right about our anime club planning on doing a group cosplay of bleach. We have a chad, uryuu, aizen, rukia, ichigo, Kisuke (me), yachiru, orohime, and probably others I can't recall off the top of my head. If there's a group cosplay I wanna know, but my main cosplay is of course squall ^^'. Maybe I'll be able to take my gunblade out (at least for photos) this year.

I need help :( . I'm cosplaying as Ichigo and I need to know if I can bring a stainless steel replica Soul Slayer to the con. I don't think it will be sharp. I need to know soon so I can either order it or just make one of my own.

ok...well...I decided no more Kisuke after seeing him overcosplayed at Sakuracon. So I thought what could I cosplay and still do bleach? So I thought of what a fun cosplay would be and wouldn't be overdone and I came to the conclusion I want to cosplay Ulquiorra. Some people may not know who he is but those who do would be vastly impressed to see that pulled off, episode wise he's around episode 110 and chapter I have no idea. right now I gotta think of dying my hair black, getting green contacs (hell if I know spelling never used the word before), and his sword, costume shouldn't be hard but I still got my work cut out for me. Also wondering if anyone was thinking of cosplaying any of the arrancar?

Oh noes. I was thinking of doing an Ulqiora too! Mainly because I don't have the abs to do a Grimmjow. Perhaps we'll be twins?

everyone is planning on doing Ulqiroa I think on this website alone I have seen or read like 4 people are planning on going as him... honestly I would much rather go as Grimmjow but its a free world and they are both pretty hard costumes so I just wanna see it pulled off cause only place I saw it done was in tokyo so yeah

lol honestly I would not mind being one of like abunch of guys who are dressed the same means you can do a skit with em... personally if I saw three other guys dressed the same as me as the 7th squad captain I would ask em if they wanna do the 4 peters thing from family guy

well there always is the old saying great minds think alike so yeah.... and yeah having abunch of people from the same show would be nice but you can kinda bet people are going to end up going as the same people atleast alil bit
like I gave up on Kenpachi cause A. I am not ripped enough to pull him off... and B. I am just not ripped enough to pull him off. Now next year for Sakuracon maybe since I have started Working out again

I plan to go all out for my Ichigo costume. I'm gonna have the hollow mask that covers half my face, the yellow and black contacts, and I'm dying my hair orange. I also plan to have the sword as well.

Un-named Soul reaper #25 I figured there are hundreds of soul reapers who never get a chance. So I am going to be one of those soul reapers who kinda just blend into the background.

Lol, I picked my Bleach cosplay... I'm gonna be Hiyori, complete with unicorn mask! I'm also pondering Rukia, just 'cause she seems like a fun one too, but that's prolly going to have to wait till next sakuracon.

Grrrr! I was working on my mask today... I decided to do it in pieces, then attach the pieces together, and I was baking the eyes-top jaw portion, and when it came out of the oven it broke! Now I don't even feel like working on it anymore today... I was on such a roll too! :x :cry:

No, I'm gonna have to redo that part... So far I just have the section from the brow upwards done, with the horn. Spending all that time just to have to start over again kind of killed my morale though, so I probably won't start back in on it till the weekend.

I was thinking more Ise but Ive never seen her with a sword, which I really wanna carry around... and I know Hinamori used one once to attack Gin. Youd think Ise would have one as a Vice-Captain.

Heh, I agree with Skylar. That should be fun. I might have a problem with the Saturday shoot, but then again I might have problems with everything. My Karaoke audition is a little after 12pm. But I should be able to make it.

I'm finally decided and ready, I'm doing Ulquiorra, got my paint ready, but I won't heave headpiece, eyes, oor sword until next year. Costume, body paint, and hair I got covered so I guess I'll be a reasonable Ulquiorra. Just gonna have my inoue friend say she stole my helmet and sword <.<'. Look out next year for the full Ulquiorra cosplay though, my main will still be squall, my friends don't call me Squallin for nothing ^-^.

Unfortunately my Ichigo costume WON'T be ready for KC. I apologize sincerely I was looking forward to it, but it's being made for me and it's taking longer for the creator to get it done. It won't be ready until NDK (mid-september), so I'm sorry again. Definitely next year. And I'll try to get to the shoot anyway to take photos of y'all.
