Title: Anyone else interested in voice acting?
Post by: Fade on August 06, 2004, 07:00:18 am
I've been doing some amateur voiceover work on the web for several months now (radioplays, anime dubs, etc., though none of the productions have been completed yet!), and enjoy it immensely.  I've always been interested in going pro, if I ever became good enough, though I know it's not exactly the easiest career to get started in.  Anyone else care to share their knowledge of the subject?  This is a relatively new hobby of mine, along with acting in general, but I've become pretty passionate about both.

Anyway, is there a chance we might see a voice-acting panel in the years to come at Kumoricon, and maybe some VA-related guests?

I think that'd be cool. I want to make games after highschool and college. So that's definitely something I'd like to look into.

Sakura con has had VA's both times I've been and at their panels I kept hearing that if you wanted to be in voice acting to get invovled in acting and singing classes if at all possible. So things like that would be good, or just go to a voice actors panel and ask them how they got started.

I've always been interested in voices, playing arund with tones, pitch and effects that I can aply to my voice, and I've always had a good ear for voices, being able to recognize a voice actor in different roles really quickly and with alarming accuracy. I haven't ever been in anything, amatuer or otherwise, although I fancy myself fairly good. plus I'm an accomplished singer, two years in a choir and I've been told I'm one of the more promising students at my school. it'll probably stay a hobby for me, though... I'd rather get involved with theater, if anything.

Hey, where do you go to school? I just got in choir this last year and like it.

Theater is fun. I've been in plays all my life, and was just in the musical
Guys and Dolls this last year. Fun stuff.
