The November meeting will be in Portland, on the 18th of November. I do not currently have anymore info on the venue, but will inform you as soon as the arrangements go through. Details about the agenda are on the main page. This would be a good time for those of you who haven't noticed the NEW SITE to check it out. :)
What's the URL for that?
-
I think it's on the posters.....

Can someone pick me up in Beaverton? I can't get to Vancouver on my own (I depend on Lift to get around, and they don't go over the river).
If you can't meet me in Beaverton, I imagine I could take the Max downtown somewhere and meet you wherever.

Well, only 3 years from the first con itself. I don't think planning for the first Kumoricon really started a full year before the con. So somewhere between 3 and 4 years from when the planning first started.

Planning for Kumoricon '03 began around April '03, bonus pocky-cake to whoever can guess the original weekend that Kumoricon '03 was supposed to take place :)

@everyone else - Hawkeye needs a ride to the meeting. I can't get her there, as Gus and I have to attend 2 hours earlier. Anyone who can help, please pm me or reply, and I will relay to my internet-less friend. :) She lives in Hillsboro.

That's when it actually did take place (I assume Sean is asking about some other date it was originally planned for).

Yup, there was an original planned date for the convention that Kumoricon has never been held on. The first year we ended up on thanksgiving because we couldn't get the date we wanted.
The number of people that probably know which weekend that was is very low :)
-
So can anyone from Beaverton or anything pick me up for the meeting? I do need an answer soon.

Yes tell us all. I was there at TUNAC when they first formed the idea but I don't remember the date. I said ohh thats a neat idea and they looked at me and said eww creapy old guy and ran off to there dorm rooms to watch anime

I will be down town that day and I have one more spot in my car I think.... I will be at the loyd center picking up 2 others around 12.
If you can make it to loyd center that day I will give you my phone so we can hook up.
-
I'll PM you. I'm pretty sure I can do that.
-
lookin at my schedule right now and I don't think I will be able to make it to the meeting I am sorry.
-
Has there been a specific room selected for us to meet at? Or will we have to wait for Saturday to figure that out?

-
Cedar
Okay, for those of you who may not be familiar with the layout of the hotel, here's how to get to this room.
- Enter the lobby, located at the corner of Columbia Ave. & West Sixth St. There will be three doors, one of which is a rotating door, along the Sixth St. side.
- Either go up the stairs or up the elevators.
- If from the stairs, the hallway will bend right & come to a fork; take a left. You will see the elevators to the right, along with the Oak room. If from the elevators, you'll be facing the Oak room; go right.
- Cedar is the fourth door on the left. (Order: Oak, Hemlock, Boardroom, Cedar, Birch).
See you guys there! :D
-
I would also like to show up for the meeting. Problem is, don't have a way of getting there. Would anyone be able to offer me a ride? I live on the Portland State University campus.
-
To continue with my last post, you can also get to the room from Columbia Avenue. In fact, this may be better, since the map refers to this entrance as the Convention Center Entrance.
- You will find some stairs & columns leading to five doors. Enter through there.
- To your right is a room called Alder. Ahead is the Heritage Ballroom. To your left is a flight of stairs; take the stairs.
- Once you reach the next story, you will enter a hallway, staring at two rooms, Birch on the left, and Ash on the right. Take a left, since that's the only way you can go.
- The hallway bends right, and you will see five doors on your right. In order, they are: Birch (same one), Cedar, blah blah blah, who cares for now.
You're welcome!
-
Is there by chance a map of the inside of this hotel?
-

kendo boyfriend and i would like to come but he is over worked an needs rest have fun
do we have to call him Kendo Boyfriend too? Can the rest of us call him him KC for Kendo Chris.
-
I just thought of something. If someone needs to know how to get to the Hilton itself, here's a map I made with the paint program. It kinda sucks, so I'll include directions.
(https://www.kumoricon.org/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi146.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fr254%2FWashougal_Otaku%2Fmap.jpg&hash=f43c817d676e8cc91f6771bac1697e887c2bab5f)
- From Portland along I-5 (the big grey thing) take exit 1C.
- Head West along 6th Street. You'll see Broadway, Main, Washington, Columbia, for your street signs.
- Between Washington & Columbia, to your right, is a parking garage. The Hilton is on the next block to the left.
I hope this helped.
Oh, if you got to the area by public transportation, the C-Tran/Tri-Met area is on 7th Street, from Broadway to Washington.

What she said. Use Trimet.org. They have a trip planner that will tell you exactly how to use the bus to get there.
