I have never seen the show (I did pick up one figure model because the robot was pink with antanie that looked like Pony tails) I just picked up a Guide to the series
Ha ha O'Neil Tubes & Lagrang Points you kids had no idea you were being exposed to astro science and geo politics
-
Look out Dan! I went into a thread about politics in Gundam over at A.N.N. and it turned into a nasty pissing match with some neocon tool over there. That's a nasty can of worms to open.
LOL, ROFLCOPTER
-
Ah GW.... that and Sailor Moon were my introductery anime at age 5! :D Good times!*dances happily about to the fondly remembered into*
-
Ok, so I know what a Lagrange point is, but what's an O'Neil Tube?
-
gundum wing is my favorite potlitical drama about giant fighting robots
-

In the first Gundam series the space colonies at the L points are based on a real life theoretical concept for a space station from the 70’s colloquially called an O’Neal Tube after Princeton University Professor Gerald O’Neal. And come to think of it Babylon 5 is one too. It’s one of those conceptual things like a space ring, space elevator, lunar cities and Daedalus interstellar star drive that almost could be pulled off with the technology of today (or even the 70’s) if as much effort were put into space as into war
-
I know what L points are... Halo taught me something! Well sort of. I also read a lot about astronomy. >.> Yay for disecting the different elements of a type II super nova!
But I don't touch Wing with a 10 foot pole. It's very popular yaoi territory. @_@

Wait, I was supossed to be learning something from Gundam Wing, besides how to drool over cute at-the-time-my-age-but-now-it-would-make-me-a-pedo guys?
Huh, I missed that little memo, that's for sure. :?
I did learn that a big mecha with a sword is better than a big mecha that runs out of bullets, though.

gundam wing is my favorite of the series, I am also a big fan of G Gundam also. I think all the series have a strong point.
-
my friend really like seed
tho when ever i mention the gundum series with the chibi gundem peeps hurt me...

Gundam Wing's a cool series. It's the first non-video game-based anime I got into (Pokemon was the first anime I got into) and I really like the cast that it has. Duo was the first character that I cosplayed as and was one of the first anime characters I became a big fan of.

Wow, we really came at this from the opposite angles! When I first started watching anime, I was 27, and already had an anthropology degree, so I approached it in a very analytical way. I started with things like Lain and Ghost in the Shell, but my taste has broadened somewhat: this week I'm watching Little Snow Fairy Sugar.

we dig fighting robots...
