First off THANKS to EVERYONE who entered this year. YOU are the people who worked hard, and entertained us all.
So here we go - here is the list of participating AMVs in this year's contest. Although I do not have links to the AMV's at this time, I'll bet that many of them can be found on www.animemusicvideos.org though, as the creators upload their works. (I will be uploading the K-2006 contest opener soon, too.) The entries are listed in the order in which they were shown, and winners in each category are written in ALL CAPS.

(And I have already collected about 3 or 4 show entries...)
KEEP MAKING AMV's - KEEP HAVING FUN - SEE YOU ALL AGAIN NEXT YEAR
- G
-
I'm at work iso I can't hunt them all down but as soon as you guys have links, please post them up here! i'll even organize them on this post with edits for easy reference!
-
I'm glad Galaxy Bounce got Judge's Choice, not to mention Best Action/Effects. It was a crazy-awesome video that deserved it's praise. And the I Want You To Want Me video was a fun time.
Thanks to everybody who voted for Lifestream Epics. :D Was a hell of a time finishing it as my computer slowly began to die on itself halfway through...
Unfortunately however, it's not up for download anymore. Immediate Music, the artist company who created the songs I used, emailed me some months back saying to take it down. Seeing as how I'm in little to no place to argue considering I used their work without their permission, I had to comply. Sorry guys. :( Was a fun run while it lasted though.
Godspeed however, the Animatrix video in Drama/Romance, is up for download on my site (http://www.pierow.com) under the 2005 section. My other video, Revolver Dawn, will be up for download at some point, but it's hardly a priority unless somebody actually wants it. :P
Thanks to those who participated in the contest and congrats to those who won! (https://www.kumoricon.org/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.pierow.com%2Fup.gif&hash=77a014640321a7d93c2d4bb0eaa60ae4ec63920b)

I'm sad that I didn't get to watch the AMV contest (only got to see like 2 videos because I had to work the dealer hall) so I too definitely await seeing these on animemusicvideos.org ^-^
-
Is there any way that you could post the author's names in addition to those AMV's? I wanted to search for some of the ones I saw at the con, but I thought I would narrow down the search by the author's names. Just a thought.
-
I'd really like to see the video shown for the AMV contest at closing ceremony. The one there everyone is trying to make an AMV like crazy.
And, Congrats to everyone who won!
-
Sorry, but I was wondering if someone could give me the name of the video that was shown before the contest started...
It was like a movie trailer, only it was about making AMVs and someone said it was first shown at Anime Boston...and I dont know the name of it...could someone tell me please? It was a really awesome, inspiring vid...
-
Yeah that one was cool. Was it the one with Naruto? I'd like to get a hold of that video. Also, I swear one of the AMVs had a cover of the song "You Spin Me Round" .. ,but it was by Slipknot(?) At any rate, I'd like it and as far as I can tell, Slipknot never covered the song.. Anyone know who it was by? The closest sounding version is by the band "Dope".

I was doing a search and could only find it covered by Dope, and I think it was covered by Orgy on a limited edition cd given out by American Eagle Outfitters, but I can't find a sample of the track to give it a listen. =(

Hm...the one I was thinking of was not a Naruto one...all I remember was that it was like a great, big, contest to make the best AMV...
-

Nope, the song was "You Spin Me Round" Redone by Marilyn Manson.
I should have the AMV up for download in the next week if I find the time.

I think she is refering to the ending credits in the AMV. It did say Slipknot... why exactly, I'm not sure.
-
Things like this totally drive me nuts! (in a good way tho, lol!) So I poured through every Marilyn Manson CD they have ever released and can't find them ever doing "You Spin Me Round (like a record)"
This is the version I found by Dope which sounds exactly the same from my memory of the contest:
http://www.odeo.com/audio/101984/view
awesome song btw!
-
Oh, OK. Well, in that case.. I got the Dope version.. and I got the Marilyn Manson version. And the Orgy version.. And Powerman 5000 version.. and the Billy Idol version.. ^_^;
(Oh, I just remembered.. and the Jessica Simpson version. But I didn't listen to it, I swear!)
Edit: Apparently, the Marilyn Manson version is actually the Dope version. Marilyn Manson never covered the song! Same with Powerman 5000. And Orgy. All the same freaking song!

You're probably thinking of the Contest Opener or whatever it's called (not to be confused with the Contest Introduction). Somebody won an award for that thing and rightly so, but I forget who it was. Great video none the less. Nothing like the Requiem for a Dream music to display editing frenziness.
-
Hooray, there are links. ^_^
I actually skipped the contest so I could attend the Dark Horse Manga panel. I'm glad I can still see what AMVs were shown.
-
Happiness! I found the vid on AMV.org, so I figured I will give the link to everyone else: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_videoinfo.php?v=126313

I really with "THE SOHMA WHO SHAGGED ME" had won. Don't get me wrong, I loved the one that DID win.
I also wish that the volume on "THE SOHMA WHO SHAGGED ME" was a bit louder.... It was SO good. Compliments of Yatta Dante.
-
I'd like to see the "The Sohma who Shagged Me" again. Does it exist anywhere?!
-
I wasn't able to find it on animemusicvideos.org or youtube =(

Aha! I've been looking for that one--thanks!

Hey all!! ^.^
There was a little mishap with my video, Guy explained it to me somewhat, so hopefully next time I can reenter my video so it won't mess up....
Does anyone remember the Hellsing video? The one that probably seemed to be really off on timing... it was. Something made the first frame freeze for an extended time and then the sound and film were totally off. Soooo..... here is the video on amv.org in it's original and timed version:
Awaken (http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_videoinfo.php?vid_id=118930)
-
I updated your link on the first page list too. Thank you! ^.^
-
I know this is the list of winners, but anyone have links to the other contestants' entries?
I'd like to see as many as possible so I can have as much of Kumoricon on my computer as possible! :D
-

Typically, for all the entries that are up on www.animemusicvideos.org, creators have a Profile page (just click on the creator's name) and you can see a list of all the stuff he or she has available for d/l.
btw, here is the 2006 contest opener:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86yH4vIi7hU
and i don't know the name to one of the amv's. it was a mixture of animes and stuff.... but it had the meow mix in it and at the end it was inuyasha singing the song that never ends. ring any bells?

I can think of one AMV that has someone doing the meow mix commercial in it but I don't remember it having Inu Yasha in it. At the end it shows an Anime/South Park crossover. The AMV I'm thinking of wasn't in the contest either but in the after-show.
Is that the one you're looking for?
-
yea i remember the southpark crossover in it........ but i SPECIFICALLY remember the inuyasha part! i wanted to show my friend who wasn't able to come. and all i can remember was inuyasha and the meow mix. now i remember the south park too!
-
Well... the only AMV I can think of that has the meow mix jingle and that I saw at Kumoricon was called Channel Surfin' 2 (http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_videoinfo.php?v=113954).
It does have Inu Yasha in it but he wasn't singing "meow meow meow meow." That was the cat-girl from Outlaw Star. Anyway, give it a try, see if it's the one you're looking for.
-
is there anyway to watch it without signing up to anything? i don't like registering for just ONE thing.
-
You could try youtube I guess. Only problem for me is I can't check it or give you a link since my computer can't seem to handle youtube. Try punching in "Channel Surfin' 2" in the site's search engine and see if anything anime-ish pops up.
-
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_videoinfo.php?v=112495
This is the link to the Inuyasha 'Song That Never Ends.' It's entirely separate from the Channel Surfin' project. It is a stand-alone, 0:41-second stunt. I just happen to tack it right after another 'series of bizarre one-liners' style of project, so some people might have thought this was a part of the previous work.

Non-anime, but I heard this on the radio the other day & I thought it was funny: "If Wily E. Coyote had all that money to buy rockets, gizmos & gadgets from ACME, plus all his other supplies, why didn't he simply BUY a roadrunner? Like, just order one delivered?"
-
geirr> well that's great and all but i have to sign up for it and i really don't wanna do that. i'm cheaking youtube right now
-
If it makes a difference, Anime Music Videos.org has been a standard for uploading/downloading AMVs long before YouTube was ever around. It has over half a million members and over 100,000 AMVs on it's servers. The reason I love it so much is because videos found there are not downgraded in quality for viewing. YouTube is great for previewing videos and all, but if you find something you really like and want to see it in much better quality (YouTube does weird things to timing and image quality most of the time) head over to animemusicvideos.org and DL it.
The search engine over there is pretty awesome too if you want something in particular (you can search by anime, song, artist, etc...) or if you've got an idea for an AMV and want to see if it's been "done before".
-
hhhmmmmmmmm........actually that sound really cool! but .......do you have to pay for it? that's one of the reasons i hate sighning up for stuff is because i NEVER read the aggreement thingies and i'm afraid in one of em it'll say something like you have to pay 50$ a month etc.
-
No, you don't have to pay for it at all although they do accept donations to keep it going.
The only thing is if you don't donate when you first sign up, you have to wait 2 weeks before you can start downloading stuff. (Note: the 2 week waiting period is a one-time thing)

I think they stopped the two-week period. But you do have to wait longer for downloads to start when you're actually on the downloading page.
-
hmmmm....so it has it's ups and downs... but i found it on youtube! XP
-
ok.....that was the video that came RIGHT BEFORE the song that never ends...yada yada yada....mebbe they cut it off for youtube? because there was something added in the youtube version that i don't remember being in there at the con. it was pokemon and brock was this ......well......"wanting" something from misty..if you catch my drift...and i honestly don't remember that being in the con version!

:? Okay, so it isn't just me.
I downloaded it from the AMV site and I couldn't remember if that part was there at Kumoricon or if it was cut.
-
I really need to setup my animemusicvideos.org account and upload my videos there instead. Been too lazy. XP
-
I still haven't gotten around to profiling Revolver Dawn on my account. I rarely ever visit the ORG anymore, if only to see if anyone I know's done a recent journal entry or made any new videos. That and to see if anyone's left any ops. :P Otherwise though, I almost never go there. Not doing any editing recently is probably a major factor.
