I so wish I could go to this..but sadly my funds are sapped from Kcon.

Holy crap that's a lot of prizes! But the reg price must be astronomical. $75,000/500 attendees = $150 in prizes per person.

That is very expensive to get in considering most of the equipment is probably borrowed. I feel like anything past $50 is just crazy for something you could get some friends together for and do yourself, because that would be a huge crowd, I dunno...

Sure you can get some friends together and have a LAN...But it won't have unlimited soda, $75,000 in prizes (Given away for several contests, tournaments, and a raffle).
The price may be a bit steep, but it isn't to cover the cost of equipment so much but more to cover the cost of renting the facility, paying for the power, internet, soda, etc.

So awesome, I look forward to seeing you there!
Also if you & anyone else who comes would be so great as after you pay, just shoot an email to -Email address removed- with just:
"Matt, Aractor got me to buy my ticket for PDXLAN 8. My handle on the seating chart is {Your handle}"
Thanks everyone, and I know that everyone who comes will have a total blast :D

Sounds like fun, although a little too spendy to go for someone who does not play games. XD
