Hi!
I've never been to an event like this before. I wanted to make it to Sakura-con but I couldn't get the time off work for it.
But it looks like I'll be able to make it for at least one day of Kumori-con...
It's probably better for me anyway, since I live in Beaverton...
So anyways, I thought I'd introduce myself here at the fourm. I'm a big Anime nut, and I'm interested in Japan in general. I've been taking Japanese classes at PCC.
So what kind of stuff goes on at one of these things? What should I expect :?:
-
Expect fun, random bits of insanity, lots of anime fans, and Security running around in desperate need of help.
Oh, and every convenience store within a mile will be out of Mountain Dew, and all other forms of caffeine, within a day. ^.^

O_O NNNNO!!!! I NEED CAFFINATED, ENERGY JOLTING SUGAR RIDDEN LIQUID SUSTENENCE!!!
-
Well that part won't bother me... I quit caffine about 6 months ago...
It kinda sucked at first though, I had this terrible headache for about 3 days, but after that I was fine...
-
You go to PCC? Cooolies, I should be attending this fall. Which campus do you go to? :D I know while I was cheking Sylvania out I saw some Anime fans there. I wonder if I should try bringing flyers to school?
As for the event, I have no idea what it is going to be like, but I think I will be able to go three days straight! Maybe I'll see you around?

random bits of insanity
yep lots of that
-
Oh, yes, the random insaneness. Does anyone remember the line to nothing from last year? XD I started that. People gave us pocky and pixie stix :3
-
Oubeji,
I got to the Rock Creek PCC. But I might take a few classes at the Sylvania campus next year. I've also gone to the Capital Center campus. Capital is pretty cool, but it's like a maze in there. They have maps posted all over the place so you don't get lost. But I get lost in there anyway sometimes, I've got a bad sense of direction :P
I work for Office depot and this thing is right in the middle of 'Back to School' time, when it's really hard to get days off. I think I can make it for one day, maybe even two if I'm lucky. Three is pretty much out of the question...
-
Hey, I've got another question for you guys...
Do you have to pay for each day of the con, or is it a pay once for all 3 days kinda thing?
This is probaby a dumb question, sorry
-
The Pre-Registration is for ALL three days, not just one. So don't worry, if you pre-reg's, you're in the con for all three days. ^.^
-
Just out of curiousity, is it possible to only pay for one or two days of insane con fun?
...Not that I would give up my third day. Its mine! :D

You should take flyers there, I go to PCC (RC) too and I got a whole bunch of the little cards that they had at Sakura Con and handed them out to my classmates during my Spring Term Japanese Final. I still have a bunch though and I'm still debating what to do with them. I think I should take them to Uwajimaya's and Downtown Portland to Spartacus and places like that. But Portland kinda scares me so I haven't done it yet.
-
Kay-Skay, I'm wondering if we were in the same class, because as far as I know there was only one Rock Creek Japanese class (6:30 to 8:50 MW with Bang-Sensei).
I found out about Kumoricon becuase of that class :P
Who knows, maybe you were the one that told me?

Spartacus? That's an... interesting place to advertise. o.O Guess it'd be a good place to get some costume stuff, though...
-
That's where I got the crop for my Kefka costume!

You could find some nice stuff for a Dark Chii cosplay there. Or Bakuretsu Hunters.
